I 1.5JZ swapped my 90 Supra, I swear that’s the most fun vehicle I’ve ever owned, just LS TT swapped my Genesis G80 tho, I think that car is going to be pretty fun too

@@YakuzaJZ probably yeah. Dude who sold me the car some year ago rebuilt the motor but cheaped out HARD on the turbo. Had a good month with it during good weather before it got some pretty wicked shaft play. Oil loss soon to follow of course. Before I knew it the motor was ticking around 2500rpm, opened it up and the cams were grooved but the lobes looked good. I imagine a spun bearing, but I wont know until I tear it down. Thinking about going JZ this summer if its not too expensive.
@@YakuzaJZ thats definitely how I feel. I love the torque and the exhaust note, but just cannot stand the issues that give it the reputation that it has. Do you have a general idea of what it would cost to swap a 2JZ? Im on a r154 and have a general idea of what the engine would cost but not the little misc. things that would add up.

For the wiring what configuration are you using? Is it the stock harness from the 2JZ or the harness from the Supra, also what is the ECU configuration?

@@rubimk3 it’s a hard decision man. I still miss my 7M for it’s charm and uniqueness. But from a parts and reliability point of view can’t beat the JZ

@@rubimk3 it’s really hard to gauge. I did my swap a few years ago and costs and parts have gone up!
Gets good engine management system for it seen many Supras blow up due to that and fuel

What’s done to the rear subframe? And what differential are you running? Is the oem diff holding the power?
Thanks man I reinforced the subframe a few years ago with thick plates and bracing. The diff is still a stock rebuilt g305 😅

coming from 7M being a 3 litre it just felt natural to go 2jz. Extra cubes helps with spoiling turbo heaps
