During November 2020, I put our 2018 Red Sport to the test... it passed the test! THIS CAR WANTS TO RUN!!! I set our Red Sport free & easily pushed it to 130MPH on I-65 south between Elizabethtown & Munfordville... I didn't like the feel of the run-flats when making lane changes, but they were okay on the straight stretch... Of course everything I'm sharing with you never happened & if you tell my wife, I'll deny everything... :-)
Recently bought a 2017 red sport mannn i get a lot of stares and it feels pretty nice especially being a young dude i got this for my 21st birthday (my own money) but to me its not about the attention I get this car is truly so satisfying to drive and im so happy with it even though it is pricey its worth it imo gonna be my daily driver for years to come and its awesome that its very rare seeing them on the road.
Hell yeah. i'm 21 and getting one as well very soon! (I know this is a year late) but i'm glad i can relate, gonna be my daily for hopefully many years.
@@johninnh4880 I have a 2012 IPL myself. If you say your redsport is less nimble than the G37 that's a shame cause the IPL isn't that nimble itself. Had a Q50 as a loaner a few times and that interior just doesn't match the beautiful exterior. Looks good in pictures but looks and feels almost cheap in person. Can't speak for the sport seats but the regular seats are borderline terrible because the have no lateral support. And the DAS steering feels artificial.
Cleanest Q60 red infinity has ever made tbh the front is so aggressive looks really good but like you said for 50k or so theres other cars of course to consider before dropping $ on the q60 even though it looks badass and the hp/hp is so good. 👍👍
I did an entire lacrosse trip on the East coast for one of these as a rental. Two people, lacrosse gear, and two suitcases fir just fine with the seats folded. I definitely want one of these in the future.
That infotainment system looks like at least one generation behind and is one of the major reasons why most people choose other sport coupe. Most car reviewers also seem to complain about the driving dynamics due to its drive-by-wire system.
Anthony C Hi! It’s a really really good sports car. You’re right about the infotainment system. The Q 60 was one of the first cars to get drive-by wire so reviewers were not used to it. They complain about it as well as the Maxima. All cars pretty much have drive-by wires now, but no one complains. If I was looking at a sports car, I would consider the Q60 Coupe Red Sport. The engine and handling are fantastic. In fact they’re putting the engine, In the new 400Z.
You're wrong about the Q60 having magnesium paddle shifters...they never had them, only the Q50S and Q50RS had them til 2018 then they switched to plastic paddle shifters.
Hey know this is an older post, I own the original Q haha from 1990 I'm interested in getting the Q60 but I've watched many of the reviews. Most being non ownerer, do you have an update on how the car is now? Any problems or qwerks
Hi SofaKing. The car belongs to my buddy. Although it's a three-year lease, he loves the car and doesn't have any problems with it (it's a 2017 1st year). He has about 17,000 miles. You may want to check with Consumer Reports on the reliability. The power is undoubtably high for how big the engine is especially with two turbos.. Not sure how the engine would last in the long run. Hopefully someone will answer you on this thread. Nothing really weird about the car other than the infotainment system. I could probably live with it because everything else is really good. Interior is excellent!
Perspective: Used Q60S goes for around $45k. Lets say you tune it, sure you get around 500hp? Used ZL-1 Camero goes for $45k, 640hp STOCK. Which one has the better transmission and cooling? Which one is actually going to stand up to track use? Having owned a 370z for 5 years with the 7speed AT, which is the same in the Q60S, it's a major liability if you want to go fast. Plan on adding a transmission cooler and a tune to fix the slow shifting issues, but, it's still a longterm liability problem. Plan on adding brake ducting, basically just plan on upgrading the entire brake system if you want something that takes abuse (Z1 2 piece rotors, better pads, etc); I'd go Camero at this point and give up some of the non needed luxury bs for some simple raw driving experience. Put the Q60S on the rack, look at the fit / finish under it. Horrible. Watch SavageGeese's video if you don't believe me. ZL-1 was engineered from the start to be a track weapon. I'd go for that instead if I had to buy today. Sadly japanese vehicles nolonger provide the value / performance / reliability balance they once did.
07wrxtr1 Lmao okay car guy. Used q60 goes for around 45k? Where did you get that price from ? And how the hell are you going to compare a ZL1 which is a 80k car and q60s that’s 57k? 30k makes a BIG difference.
Sport+ is nothing more than a slight bump in steering assist and a loosening of the nanny controls so that you can wag the tail a bit more. IMO the steering is overly boosted in this setting. That's it. Suspension wise the car already rides very tight borderline harsh in Sport mode thus I don't think you'll need more there. So, first hand, when you go to Sport + mode, the electronic steering gets stiffer along with the suspension, and the engine noise/roar and exhaust get louder or more "growl" to it. It jumps the RPM's quite a bit but if you are not careful, the back end does and will fish tail on you while the computer corrects it.
Really?? I hope you are right. But I think the Z34 and the Q60 aktually share the platform. Same platform used by the Q50 and G37 years ago called FM by Nissan.
@@Nismo3 the Nissan Z needs to look fantastic because without question, the q60s may be one of the best looking cars in the world. It's absolutely beautiful.
I believe the Q50 and Q60 have always been assembled in Japan. They just moved locations last year. I'm not not quite sure what the reliability is although my friend has not had any problems with his Q60 Red Sport.
Pat da bunny.... Yep, I hear what you are saying.... True... the Red Sport is not meant to be super car... The Red Sport is what it is... a fun fast car to drive throughout the week, but nope not a super car!
What LSD? You can install one from Z1 or AMS. Z1 you can swap rear assy, AMS you need a drive line shop to install. The Q50/60'S have an open diff and use brake torque vectoring. I have the Z1 helical LSD. Full Fast Intentions exhaust system and EcuTec tune. Z1 two piece brake rotors and 20 lb rims saved 78 lbs. Oh, an AMS heat exchanger too. I love my hot '18 Q50 AWD Red Sport. No DAS. Note Red Sport has lower gearing than the Silver Sport, 2 water pumps, and an optical turbo speed sensor.
After 5 years of 370z ownership, and having done many of the upgrades you've mentioned, I just don't see sticking with nissan/infinity anymore. Next car will be that ZL-1 Camero.
I swear if they put the VR30 in the next Z car, I’m gonna be disappointed. If they’re gonna do that they should’ve came out with a new Z 2-3 years ago. Or at least already put the VR30 in the 370Z for 2016+ models. I hope they just come up with a more powerful version VR30 for the new Z. That’s just my opinion.

I really don't think there's a difference from 0-60. But all wheel drive will put the power down easier with no problem meaning handling will be much better.
The engine sound is nearly not existent as stock and even with a new exhaust its still pretty mute (at least the ones I have looked up) Otherwise a really underrated car. Keep in mind that it has higher part prices than bmw and Mercedes at least here in Germany like break pads, spark plugs, etc. Just buy one it's a Nissan

Belt problems, turbo problems, blown engines, shitty transmission, you fail to mention all of this, 400hp means nothing if the car can't support it, who cares about infotainment this about driving
Yeah, I got lucky with my 2017's manufacture date of 11/16. Fortunately these were issues with the 2016 Q50's and 2017 Q60's manufactured before Sept 2016, and all of those issues were corrected in all Q50/Q60 with a manufacture date after Sept 2016. Trans isn't horrible, shifts are pretty quick in Sport/Sport+ when your foot's in it. It's not too much different from the G's 7-speed, just minor upgrades. But still having a conventional tq converter makes the torque mgmt system is way too sensitive when shifting manually from 1st to 2nd. Holding it in 1st much past 6k rpm will basically kill the throttle for a half second! Best is just mash the gas and let it shift on its own and it'll hit 60 anywhere from 4.0x-4.5x depending on weather and elevation.
It’s not bad....it’s just not a sports car. 😢 it’s a luxury car that looks great and goes fast on a straight line. The infotainment is absolute trash and I after owning one, I was tired of it after about 3 weeks. I was considering the new Z, but that car has the same wheel base, same engine and is ugly AF. So I will keep the Q60 for a while longer until I see something better....definitely not like my old G35 by far. Nissan has lost its touch and I have been disappointed with their current offerings. It might be time to reconsider my loyalty to them.
Nope. The design of the Q60 is just trying too hard. There’s too much going on from the profile. The base of the A pillar is way too thick! The ‘shoulder line’ doesn’t create the desired “muscular” effect. It creates tes a “MUFFIN TOP” effect.
Dude no offense....not really..... But......Your an Idiot! It's a great car. Luxury + sporty look and the Japanese reliability to go with it. That VR motor is pretty damn Rock Solid. While your gonna pay up the @ss! When it comes to maintenance for a Porsche. I know because my dad had one.
Unfortunately, car designs are controversial but one thing that's not controversial is the engine. It's badass. This engine in the Red Sport 400 is pretty much the same one that's found in the GTR but with smaller cylinders and turbos are tuned down.
RAN D I totally agree. I test drove the redsport last year. And man that thing is pretty damn fast. I fell in love with the car from the first time I laid eyes on it. I own a Gorgeous red 08 g37 coupe. Did some mods to it. The vq motor is a great motor. And had the DNA of the GTR MOTOR I agree. Anyways just wanted to give you some feedback. Your lucky man. I will Own one one of these days and.....a GTR of course. Lol
@911 991.2 TURBO S I've had my 2017 AWD Q60 RS for 2 years and at almost 25k miles with no issues to date. And I have yet to replace the tires or brakes, etc. Just oil/oil filter change and tire rotation. I work in the auto industry and guess how much maintenance is on something like a brake job for an Infiniti Q60 AWD Red Sport versus say an Audi S5? Front brake job for an Audi S5 is around $1300...for AWD Q60 Red Sport is around $300, and the brakes work great. Sure, I could've spent an extra $10k-$20k on a German vehicle with similar power, better handling, but Infiniti provides plenty of both as a daily driver for much less and a low cost of maintenance. And if you really have a $200k 991.2 Turbo S, then the 2 aren't even comparable

Otherwise a really underrated car. Keep in mind that it has higher part prices than bmw and Mercedes at least here in Germany like break pads, spark plugs, etc. Just buy one it's a Nissan
If Infiniti would put a digital dash and an infotainment center from this decade in this car it would be a home run. Until then it’s a pass
not very smart making a car engine test drive in local streets🤦♂️
I weave in and out of traffic doing a buck 30 in my subaru
@@Maskedman167 Of course you do because you're a subi owner
Josh Winn you’re cool.
50/60 grand depending on trim and you can't give me real leather?? man fuck that im out. car companies have gotten away with murder they think cool piece of teeth makes a car worth 60 grand
Infiniti needs to put a hood vent on the hood..
Made in Japan🎌
That truck only holds ONE Randy?! No sale for me
This trunk is probably the smallest trunk I've ever been in. But I'm thinking people don't buy this car for the trunk size. LOL!
@@RANDsreviews you got that right haha, loved the review man. The Infiniti stone joke was great haha, and very informative on the infosystem
When I see my buddy again, I'll ask him if he's had any problems. I'll get back to you next week. Have a great weekend!
Who cares about gps in 2019??? 😂🧐🤓
I wonder who is going to release a 1000 hp sedan?
Caddy CTS-v is there
Mike Schiavoni Dodge
Hellcat is up to 1000 hp??? That is insane, and cts getting up there, surprised the chassis will put up with 1000 hp
I feel this is trying to be Doug demero
Hey robertpal9, I looked-up Doug DeMuro... He owns a rare 2005 Ford GT & yep, I could step into his "Doug Car" for a day... BE LIKE DOUG sounds good if I can afford & drive a rare 2005 Ford GT. Thanks for the comment. Doug Bishop of Flaherty, KY sends ruclips.net/video/xJUOKi-pdbk/видео.html
When you got out of the trunk you rubbed the paint of the rear bumper with your jean... it's probably scratched it
Wait how do you give it a negative then say it’s good lol
Ear blasting music at the beginning was painful. Otherwise good review
Great i have this model mega !!!
That front bottom lip reminds me of the Shelby GT350 front lip, nice stolen feature!
No 6 speed?
it's not available unfortunately.
Those aren't crappy roads in the least, hahahaha wow.
Ron Rice it’s my crappy mount. 😭
There is no way this car 0-60 in 4 seconds if this car is stock
Thanks for catching that. I changed the title and forgot the .5.
Nope. The design of the Q60 is just trying too hard. There’s too much going on from the profile. The base of the A pillar is way too thick! The ‘shoulder line’ doesn’t create the desired “muscular” effect. It creates tes a “MUFFIN TOP” effect.
What other cars are options for the same price?
You are very vibrant !
Thank you!
Def prefer the old g37s coupe and even the g35 coupe better.......I hope it's not becuz I'm getting older
カッコいいな〜
05 G35 won car of the year, check it out on my channel ;)
only if this car interior were nicer
Only a criminal would attempt that shit
Bro got to learn how to pack I have this car and you can get a carry one in the trunk cmon fam.
Horrible car for 50000€, E500 coupe would be a better choice.
Needs better tires
Possibly, but the engine is really powerful with those 2 turbos.
@@RANDsreviews yea when I was using the Bridgestone tires I would spin so much now i just got the Michelin ps4s grips so much better it’s insane
Toyota and lexus the best than nissan and infiniti.
Currently yes, I hope they will come back again.
things a terd for that much money and hp
Toyota supra the best in rhe world!!
Is Looks Suck Than a Lexus RC 350 F Sport
Everybody has their own preference. A lot of my friends don’t like the Q60 red sport but it’s one of my favorite cars. 😁
@@RANDsreviews oh
The truth is when someone pull up in the next lane you have to look to see who is stupid enough to buy an Infiniti the Q60 is one for the junk yard.
RAN D
I totally agree.
@Frederico11100 Don't you know that Americans consist of people from every country, race, religion, and ethnicity these days? "You Americans"...😑
Infiniti is junk, owned an 2008 g35 sedan that was absolute trash
I always check to see how many bodies fit in the trunk before buying a car
