I am a Diesel mechanic for Dsny in nyc and I love drag racing, everything we do is extremely heavy , I’m 50 years old always trained, with your knowledge of proper movement has helped me tremendously. I love Mike jealous people who are probably obese borderline alcoholics and can’t get in shape hate and throw “ steriods” in desperate need to feel better.
      This guy should be celebrating an award for
      Teaching people to train safe and no waste there time!
      Don’t lift it feel it is what I learned from him. I get far more doing weight I can control and engage my muscles than ego lifting!
      I threw 30kg dumbells up on curls but had 14” arms and didn’t get why until I realised that it’s about time under tension form and about giving more over a short period then getting a rest. I got it wrong by ego training and trying to max out each workout! Even if I give the most I can sometimes and occasionally maxing out it works.
      All people tend to try to get more and more weight each workout when slow and steady wins the race! Humbled to realise my ego made me train wrong for almost over 20 years. Swinging and bouncing weights does not do anything but set you up to fail . Mike quite often leaves saying he could have done more that is wise!!!

    • @InbredPancake
      @InbredPancake 2 года назад +2

      @@cgfitnessandarboriculture lol you are essentially agreeing with me; that is the entire point I was making. be realistic with your expectations when working out - you will literally NEVER look like this guy. it's just strange for mike o'hearn fans to adopt that philosophy when he's literal proof of needing a shit-ton of drugs to exceed natural expectations. it's just ironic to me.
      also, the natty or not videos aren't bad at all, they are actually doing their part in setting realistic goals for naive newbie bodybuilders to aspire to, unlike mike o'tren - although I'm not surprised you would disagree with that.

    Mike, story to go along with the confidence thing. When I first started lifting with my buddies dad and his friends, I was learning bench press and I remember I couldn’t do 225. Lol. They said we will take some weights off and they did but they put exactly 225 back on with different plates. The two plates, I wasn’t confident but when it was the same weight, different plates, I was able to get it. Mind barrier I learned to over come lol

    Damn Mike. I know you get a lot of grief but that observation with the incline bench rep just solved the biggest issue I have in the gym rn besides daily commitment. I am in grad school rn and my time management as been terrible, barely getting in the gym 4 times a week now. My incline max is inferior to my flat bench at 240 and I just thought it was the lift itself, but no. I’ve been doing exactly what you said not to do: Dropping the elbows out and shrugging my shoulders never realizing the limitations its been giving me. Thank you so much man. Only up from here on out.

    Ive been watching you for years at this point. Regardless of what you take or don't take (it legitimately doesn't matter to me), the lessons are impressive. Three primary lessons stick out the most. Nutrition. Followed by Technique coming first in the workout and the fact you can't keep what isn't yours. If your Technique is trash then your gains or lack there of will suffer. If you were indeed on gas since age 17 weighing 270, how does one go about sustaining that for 40 years? The icing to the cake is as I apply the lessons from these videos, over the past few years; I have been able to become the biggest I've ever been feeling healthier and lighter then I've ever felt. All accomplished at the age of 36 when apparently my testosterone began to decline about 6 years ago. Go figure. Waiting for the knowledge of the next video.

I also dont have a partner so have a mental barrier lifting alone. When i can do 6 reps incline with 150 pound dumbells and feel strong, i then feel weak on the barbell, which makes no sense So this video for me is gold. Thanks Mike for all the knowledge!

    Sometimes when the weight is very heavy, I fart💨 when I bench press. Is that a mistake sensei?

    I can lift more on an incline than a flat. Is this normal?

    You know what, people have been hating on Mike for years...yearrrsss!! But no one can deny his knowledge of form, diet, and discipline.
    No one else in the entire industry, has had the consistency, longevity, and the constant improvements that Mike O'Hearn has demonstrated, again, again and again.
    I've been working out for more than two decades and my respect for you sir has only increased. Let the naysayers say what they wish, the ram will only ever break it's horns on the mountain

    Jesus all you people first thing say he’s on something. Well I’d put my life savings on it that you can take what he takes and you won’t touch this man . He’s a very special genetic specimen . Incomparable . Not to mention he looks like he’s in his 30s
