The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

Jack Jones now 84, still living. Great singer
Now, those are great pipes. Young singers, real singers, should study people like Jack Jones.
Jack Jones is a superstar in the Philippines where his version of What I did for Love from a Chorus Line still gets regular radio airplay.
I’ve just learned of this man today. Divinely handsome- and a good voice too!
Wow!!! The great Jack Jones...I forgot how handsome he was!
Son of Allan Jones the tenor who was in A Night At The Opera and A Day At the Races with the Marx Brothers. 😊
Still is!!
Incredible singer with awesome breathing control. He nails this one!
Jack always had a smooth style.

Great Michel Legrand/A&M Bergman song from the 1969 Richard Brooks film “The Happy Ending” Jack Jones recorded an entire album of Legrand songs, all masterful interpretations.
My mother adored him ❤ happy mother's day to the mother's in heaven.

@@tj921ableCheers 🥂 Thank you so much!! 🕊💖
The date is wrong on this video as of this writing. This is actually from the special edition of the Sullivan show hosted by Jack Jones and aired after Sullivan's last episode as host; May 30, 1971. This is part of an extended medley segment which also featured Loretta Lynn, Charles Rodriguez, Stiller and Meara, Your Father's Mustache and the New Seekers, seen in the background. Each sang or played a song in the medley and this was Jack's turn.
Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you for the correct information. We can always count in you. 💖
@@that70sgirl90 You're welcome! At least someone appreciates it! 😉
@@TomElvisSmith Very much so! Thank you! Have a Peaceful Evening! 💖
Thanks for correcting - while I love this RUclips channel, they tend to get air dates wrong.
@@johnhourigan6049 You're welcome, and yes they do!
Jack Jones ,Great Performer .I love when he appeared on the Engelbert Humperdinck Show and they Sang " Kansas City " they made a Great Duet !!!!!. They were reply swinging to the beat. Both are Great Artists !!!

Love this song.
I had no idea Jack Jones... the same singer of "Wives And Lovers" grew his hair out to match the era.
What a so handsome man and a great voice !
Who ever his mate is they are so lucky !
I think he's been married four times. 😅
Jill St John was first I believe. I actually think it's five times. Not a quitter. Saw him at Harrah's Reno many times. I'm 83 and have seen them all. Best I ever saw!@@jillkjv3816

@@haraldtrittner4396 I thought of you when I saw that... it is so sad. She is way to young. It was a shock to everyone. I'm so sorry, Harald! 🌹
@@that70sgirl90 Thank You i really appreciate it, it's really Sad🥺 Daddy's beloved Girl died...my heart and soul for Mother Priscilla and Lisa's daughters💗
@@haraldtrittner4396 I agree. No parent should have to bury a child. No children should have to grow up without their mother. 🕊
jack jones fell into the trap where he thought he had to conform to the times rather than sing the classic pop tunes he was made for....it harmed his career vastly by driving away the audience that would have stayed fans for life.....
Show business itself can be a death trap-it feeds egos with voracious appetites that are never satisfied.
this is not the entire song
