celica’s seraphim probably has the best case for getting some of those mt argument crystals from the update. The level 1 increase brings seraphim form 6 mt to 10! So you go from a solid 18 damage vs corrupted to a whopping 30! Just for example wolf knight merrin at internal level 35 has 15 magic. With seraphim and bond leve 19 on celica that nets one rounds on endgame berserkers. With a magic tonic she gets one rounds on endgame generals and snipers as well. And she is 1 hp off form 1 rounding the Duma!general and the medeus!berserker. And that’s just as a wolf knight. If you spent most of the game as a wolf (level 16) and then switched to mk for 4 levels (it get to 5) gets her to 20 magic and chaos style. With spd plus 5 inherit and a spd tonic that now brings in wyverns and halbs and of course killing duma and medeus now. Celica with a level 1 my augment on seraphim vs corrupted has 38 attack from everything in her kit before her user’s magic! It’s pretty great. If you don’t get the mt augment she’s not very good later on but if you do invest the mt augment then she becomes way way stronger and just has way more value out of that then any other emblem even tho they like it as well of course. Edit: added some extra calcs and the engrave section. celica engrave is Pretty much the sole property of Ivy. Engrave a fire or elfire before celica leaves and make it a bolganone for Ivy and it’s pretty much her prf weapon at that point. Mitigates her awful luck. Lowers the wt which she likes since Ivy wants every drop of spd she can get and the power drop isn’t that big since Ivy already has great magic. Her being able to use her good bulk without it fear form her low luck and steel weapons is just so big for midgame
Marth's rapier also gets the same +4 MT, I think there's an argument for those crystals going to him since there is a fairly large amount of calvary before chapter 12 and he can let your low level units gets kills way easier
Since they are both innate engage weapons you could get both to level 1 if you want too. But if you did have to choose between them I think the biggest issue with that is just that you don’t want to use marth’s rapier most of the time since you want to use that mercious for early game exp throttling and if you did want to use rapier they should normally get the job done for the most part since enemies are pretty weak still. And when he comes back you would def want seraphim for lategame hitting res over phys damage that isn’t from erikia. And it doesn’t really help with generals either so it’s more of a cav effective weapon. And I would rather invest in Sigurd’a raidersbane to bring that up to 14 mt and has way better availability for midgame. Tho I think seraphim beats out both but like I said you can get 2 of the innate weapons with just the update bonus crystals. Marth’s rapier is better then seraphim and I think worse then Sigurd’s ridersbane for early game(you can fight armors through def in early game but man that riaderbane just hits hard. 6 wt with the mt of a unforged silver lance for a clean 14 mt vs mon cav foes and 42 mt vs cav foes with that much mov is just clean af). Seraphim is more of a lategame pick but I think it’s the best out of these just because the enemy quality compared to your units is at its highest in lategame and they are tougher to kill through def I personally would very much take celica’s seraphim and Sigurd’s ridersbane over marth’s rapier
Something i find really good with celica in the early game is sticking her on chloe. Chloe benefits a lot from the str bonus but has a non insignificant magic stat to make use of the seraphim tome which increases the number of enemies she can deal with and safely. I kind of wish they gave celica the ladyblade with the Flamberge effect or sync skill called "combat art" where you sacrifice hp for 5 atk 20 hit or something
It’s really strange that they gave celica a str bonus but no weapon to make use of it. You don’t need one of course but I would have taken beloved zofia over recover. Of course you don’t need a engage weapon to take advantage of the str but it would be nice if she had a good/powerful phys weapon
Chloe's personal magic growth is actually 35% which is high growth for a damage stat in engage. (Her Str is only 25% which is middling). As early as chapter 18 in fixed I have her at 13 Magic and 16 Strength (This is with the Shareena Bond Ring)(Level 10/14) . Flame Lance, a Phys Weapon and Celica ring seems like a great build for Chloe especially since there aren't many other rings that want to be on fliers. I didn't try Chloe Celica early game, but I think once I get Celica back this will be happening.
@@jmagicd9831pro tip, if you wanna use magical weapons on Chloe, change her to sword griffin. Levin sword has better might and more importantly, way lower weight than the flame lance, meaning she can actually double things. It might sound bad giving up that S lance rank, but it's not like you'd ever use that anyway since the S lances are either from level 5 donation or super lategame, and neither of them are very good anyway.
to add onto what jerry said, you pretty much only use phys weapons for mages which Chloe should be able to take down. Even more so with early game sword power and grabbing more sword power on Roy’s return. Makes her Levin sword super strong which she’s already using 90% of the time and powers up stuff like the silver sword for mage killing.
Celica is pretty fun and useful before Ch. 11 but basically becomes a magic stat backpack when you get her back. It's so sad all of Celica's engage weapons are redundant in some way. That all being said, early game Warp Ragnarok is super fun, Resonace+ Nova bombs are funny, and echo is neat.
I feel like Echo is under rated, especially if you add Draconic Hex to the unit as they can Hex two units or at least do more damage combined. Warp Ragnorak also then becomes less about damage and more about a free Draconic Hex from 15 spaces out. I love getting behind the first phase of the final boss with it on turn 1.
One of the better use cases I've had for Celica in late game is on Veyle. She joins you 1(or 2 if you count the immediate battle after) chapter after you get the Celica ring back and is the only dragon unit in the game (including dlc) with a solid magic stat. She definitely appreciates the extra range on echo to help offset her frailty as she won't really need to even be all that close to enemies to contribute. Factoring in her starting 2500sp giving her immediate access to draconic hex and even canter with some well support, you've got yourself a 1-4 range artillery mage constantly chipping and debuffing 2-4 enemies a turn if you dance for her for the first 8 out of your 9 starting turns of a map. Warp ragnorok helps her keep up with your team while being infantry locked and I personally find it just less of a headache to use my favorite food setups on the Celica user anyways since you're always damaging yourself on resonance. This setup gives Veyle a bit of a unique identity as a low investment long range debuffer at a time when you really could use the extra utility and is pretty much my go to in every maddening run late game.
True but Veyle's is much better at 70 with a higher base. Besides, Nel has much better things to be doing than echo spam like actually using that high speed along with a better strength stat to straight up one round things. Kinda feels like a waste to use Celica on her imo.
@@vicu186 Echo spam? Why would you echo spam with Veyle? You can just 1 shot with Soren if you kept her that way. I made mine into a thief though with Chrom to make use of the magical dagger she has. It was really fun. I just like going against the meta though. I agree though, Veyle is much better than Nel for celica in general.
Lovely analysis, as always. One thing to note about the Alear build: they get arts for some reason despite having no magic growth, so the strength and magic bonuses combined are actually useful there. You can inherit lunar brace from Erika, and make fists do actual damage to things. It also seems like a mixed attacking high priest build could be fun with her, on someone like Chloe, Merrin, or [SPOILER CHARACTER #1). You get all the mystical bonuses, plus arts for break utility that can do solid chip damage. There are better classes you could be using in general, but also punching people is funny, and there’s so few opportunities in this game to really make it work.
Nail in the head with the summary:great fun emblem to use early and then late game i was asking myself why i am using it instead of a bond ring. Also spoilers below... Another case for Alear with this bond ring is that you can refill Alear's meter with favorite food, save a skill slot and engage+ while Celica has lost most of her value at that point.
I love giving hold out to whoever is using Celica ring, so holy stance can finish the enemies off. Even a wyrm can be one rounded like that. With this combo, I also like to give them unyielding from marth, so your unit can restore their HP lost every turn by themselves.
One very tiny boon I've noticed about echo on my maddening playthrough is that you can sort of use it to get around exp and sp deficiencies. Very niche application, but I appreciated it when my Celine was free to inherit pretty much anything she wanted before chapter 10.
Celica is mostly a bad emblem because of her circumstances , you only have 2 viable user with Céline and Citrine , 2 project with Anna and Jean and 3 user based on technicality Louis for getting him as far as possible in a map , Alear for their 3 range shenanigans and Chloé after promotions (griffin) to make her a levin sword bot . She would be much better if two things happened : Alear had a magic stat/growth and her being present when Ivy is introduced , Alear is kind of the best unorthodox user since they can use fist that use mix scaling requiring magic (that they don't have) and they would actually be a very flexible unit with 3 weapon types with brave or long range options . Now when Ivy is introduced you can kinda see that Céline is starting to lose her edge and you can't put Citrinne on the front line even less (2 range and flyers everywhere) and Anna/Jean won't have picked up the pace so here comes a bulky flying unit that hit on magic who's only threat are archers and crits , i wonder how could i reduce crit on my unit , anyway if you could retain celica for the mid game Ivy would just pick up the torch from Céline . Now the engrave is just bad bc you have Marth and Sigurd having no draw backs and massive boosts but she only gets 50 dodge and -1 weight , it's not as much of a big deal on Ivy since she already hits hard but 25 dodge would already be enough . I think they wanted to try something fresh with Celica like what they did with Sigurd but didn't plan out how endgame would look like with her kit and i think their only "fix" was to pump the stages full of corrupted , and they did the same with the dlc stage just to give her an edge over Soren who's similar to her
Great analysis! Late game, having her on a martial monk is kind of neat since the Str and Mag bonus helps out fist weapons Still not great tho to be entirely honest so yeah she’s just alot of fun early game and benched late game (especially if you have DLC bracelets)
I really like Draconic Hex on Celica. Celica's by far not the best damage ring to put on a magic unit, but with draconic hex on a unit with middling damage, you can use echo to significantly raise damage output in some situations with single target focus, or you can lay down hexes on two different units with on unit of your own, which can be nice if you're struggling against certain enemies. However, what's particularly spectacular about echo is that damage bonuses (such as alear's personal skill and resonance) are not halved by echo. If you unit does 0 damage without those two things, resonance and Alear bump that to 5, and echo makes that hit a very nice 10 damage. Not amazing on its own, but 10 extra damage on someone just shy of killing is great. Not to mention that each echo attack gets chain attack chances and can break a mystical unit's chain guard to allow the second hit to go through (very nice in late game against armors). Still, she's not an amazing ring after early game, but she is certainly nice and has her niches in mid to late game.
I would say echo is still pretty useful in late game, especially against bosses with multiple health bars. Since each echo restarts any chain attacks, if you position your backup units effectively, you can get a lot of chip damage from the 2 echo attacks. Also you could potentially break one enemy health bar, and then start chipping away at the next one, without having to use another unit to attack.
Yeah I generally think you can do better bosskill strats than relying on chain attacks, but if your team has a fair number of backups + Lucina then this can work. Generally the echo attacks themselves fall short against bosses though imo unless the unit themselves is reaaally strong.
Thanks to the crystals you obtain at the beginning of the game celicas seraphim is actually quite easy to get 4 extra mt. When all youre fighting is corruped in endgame it proves to be a decent tool. Recover staves are also very limited, and its straight up free healing. I dont think thats useless at all imo. Agree about warp ragnarok, shame it doesnt scale late game.
Holy stance is good actually because it’s funny when a corrupted unit attacks a unit through a wall and the enemy dies off screen. Or when they attack your unit and recoil from the counter damage.

I’d heavily disagree with holy stance being bad. Such a shame she's meant for m*xed attackers, hybrid offense always lets me down, especially in Madenning with the insane enemy stats
Yeah mixed attacking kinda sucks. I do kinda enjoy Celine with a sword earlygame just hitting mages on their weaker stat but it's very niche.
@@Mekkkah At least the Levin Sword has really good stats...what happened to the flame lance...?
@@ImportedCheese If there's one thing I've learned about Magic Weapons in the series, it's that Lances get abused the most, either by name, availability, and sometimes even how they function.
Meanwhile the Levin Sword and Bolt Axe seem to be staples, and other weapons even getting a magical variant at all are just decided by a coin flip.
Aka Celine carry early game, she’s so broken early game it’s crazy
So.. glass cannon character with max holy stance and holdout? 🤣
Bad, Unless if used on Griss.
Ragnarok Warp allows Barthe to circumvent the only weakness of armor knights, low movement!!!

I much, much prefer videos like this than the ones you do with Scepti. Those felt forced and biased. I think this kind of concent is your strong point as a creator.
I like how they gave an emblem to the worst protagonist in the franchise just cuz people simp for her, whi cares she got hundreds killed cuz she believes the most obviously evil person in the history of evil persons, shes hot!
Why are you talking about Corrin?
