This game showcases Micaiah's abilities so freaking well. Chapter 11 is already terrifying, but once I got through it Micaiah was easily the emblem I wanted back the most. Then, right before giving us her back, they show off that jumpscare double boss and it gives that same wonder, awe, and fear, before telling you its your turn.
It’s almost crazy how helpful Micaiah is for SP and in rough spots in the late game. Also, warp and rewarp cheese is definitely one of the best strategical advantages she can open up if you know how to plan out a chapter.
- Warping the Micaiah user, then moving them further and using rescue allows you to have 5 people plus the person engaged ahead. Then you can aoe rewarp, or even just do the same thing again with one of the five people you've just rescued. Rescue has 3 more range than Rewarp and Warp, too. It gets largely ignored compared to the other two, and shouldn't, it's great. - Since Fortify recovers emblem gauge for each and every target healed and Micaiah can give A staff to everyone, it's trivial to re-engage with her. Can be useful if you're using Nosferatu a lot. - Thani also allows Hortensia to kill armors with ease, which is nice since most physical units struggle greatly to do that. - If you put your own units on fire with Corrin (or Roy), you can get great exp even in lategame maddening (where Great sacrifice will have fallen off), by aoe healing with a high exp staff like recover, since targets generate exp individually. This also works with status staves on enemies, by the way. Transportation staves (Warp, Rewarp, Rescue, Entrap) only generate exp once, though, no matter the amount of targets.
People don’t talk enough about using Augment to break the EXP economy. Great Sacrifice is great but you can get nearly that level of EXP every Engage turn. You pick Micaiah up around the time you start getting Canter so you can take damage and group up to get 3-5 heals every turn. I was able to level Jean (a unit who doesn’t have great combat) from level 3-8 in fifteen turns with this method, while also clearing chapter 10 in 10 turns (not insanely fast but probably a decent turn count for efficient play.) You would normally need to be setting up kills left, right, and center to get this kind of leveling from Jean but all of my combat EXP went to my carries this way while Jean was still able to level super fast.
Micaiah on Alear or an Enchanter is very fun. Convoy access + Micaiah engage is an addictive combo and it feels great having the flexibility to choose whatever staff suits the current situation.
I slept on her emblem ring as I was so overwhelmed with all the dlc emblems. In my future maddening mode no dlc run, I look forward to using her ring "properly."
I absolutely hated Hortensia on my first playthrough and refused to use her. Her usefulness was obvious for Maddening however and she actually grew on me a bit after some of her support conversations. With Michaiah she's useful with very little effort or resources.
Only thing holding Micaiah back is my untreatable too good to use syndrome. “What if I need this rewarp staff later?” as I beat the game with 15 uses left.
5:06 It’s actually better than the Rapier due to having higher Might and hitting enemies on the lower Resistance side. Rapier’s damage falls off super hard on all Emblems it’s in because it has low Might. 9:35 Since they’re so cheap, it’s a valid idea to put both on your main staff bot (usually Hortensia or Framme). The likes of Canter/Momentum is better given to combat units and Hit+X is not worth it IMO, because forges, supports and engravings are more cost effective 13:00 I think Lucina, Corrin and Lyn offer more broadly applicable for the clear all/most enemies kinds of clears. Bonded Shield can be put with anyone with high Avoid to help 4 units clear maps instead of just 1, Corrin’s Fire DV can lock down whole groups + Draconic Hex/Dreadful Aura facilitate enemy killing tremendously and Lyn’s speed related skills (Speed+ and Taker) are pretty invaluable to any team. Micaiah is still S tier, though, and the best Emblem for skips. The Emblems can be really insane in this game lol These videos are super fun, I’m looking forward to the Lucina one since ❤ Bonded Shield ❤
Initially, when Micaiah's Engage Skill was revealed I thought she'd be one of the worse emblems since she seemed to be one of the rare ones who had a 'downside' to her skill (her HP going down to 1). But when using her practically her going down to 1 HP never really became an issue for me in any of my playthroughs. I've been thoroughly enjoying her and she saved countless units for me because Great Sacrifice is awesome. I would argue that she may be one of the best if not the best Emblem in the game. Great video as always!
Developers saw how we use Micaiah on Part 3 Radiant Dawn and decided to “Make her into that” but over the top. Also , she says fuck you to the enemy and can re-warp + warp the whole army with her.
I feel that even after all the DLC, both Micaiah and Byleth are at least a tier above everyone else in the game, if they weren't around, efficient clears would look drastically different
Definitely the highest potential. I didn’t use a dedicated healer on my playthrough so I didn’t get as much use of her as I could have. I’m still biased to Corrin being #1, but I could see why everyone sees Micaiah as #1.
On the second to last chapter, i couldn't handle the reinforcements while fighting the boss. Then I realised what to do. Warp everyone to one side and power through to a door, killing the thief on my side. On the turn the thief on the other side is about to open their door, I engage hortensia with micciah and ensure I have seadall, byleth, and a one shot unit adjacent. I rewarp them to the middle, dance with seadall and warp to the other side. Use the crit monster to one shot the thief, then byleth dance. Then use micciah to rewarp back to the middle, dance with seadall, and rewarp back to the other side. Then I can spend some time healing and recharging before warping units into the middle and dealing with the boss. Both doors are left locked, meaning the reinforcements can't touch you. Worth noting I had canto on everyone
I really didn't get a chance to use Micaiah al that much on my 1st playthrough... I feel like having all of her best abilities only available when engaged really held her back in my eyes. (Compared to other emblems like Lynn, Lucina, and Corrin who offer amazing abilities, even when not engaged.). I also do not use staves all that often, making her even less useful for me. I hope to use Micaiah a little bit more the next time I play through Fire Emblem Engage to get a better appreciation for what she offers...
Did you mention Hortensia gaining range on Ilmune? I thought that staff worked exactly the same as a torch that only staff units can use for xp (or for bigger torch range with Ilmune Micaiah). I want to test this when I get the chance
So without watching this video yes micaiah is the best emblem, she is the beat girl. After watching the video I can think of a bunch of different ways to use utility staves, and a way to make a decent combat unit that won't one round but can take a few hits into healing tank with live to serve and a mend. Engraving fantastically useful, it's like a functional shade skill.
And we thought four way dancing was broken, hahahah. Intsys proves they can out do themselves once again. Seriously every map that micaiah is on devolves into “couldn’t I just skip this” and the answer is a resounding yes every time. Love her or hate her, she’s the best there is at what she does
Yeah I think Micaiah might just be the most op Emblem. Lyn is crazy with Astra Storm and her ridiculous speed bonus, but there's just nothing as game transforming as being able to essentially move anyone anywhere on the map in a group in a game where half the maps are defeat boss maps and warp staffs are cheap
It is still quite funny that the overpowered staff utility Emblem comes from the game where staff utility (and indeed magic in general) is arguably at its weakest in the series.
No micaiah is not the best emblem personally. Lyn's ability to make any unit good along with free uncontested damage and decoys is very valuable. Also she can allow certain builds to solo the game on maddening which is pretty bonkers. I'm also not into warp skipping or staff exp abusing that much.
Or I could use the Rewarp staff
Rewarp w/ Micaiah AoE
definitely top tier - game breaking with group warp skipping strats, feeding exp, giving ability to equip staffs, etc.
I didnt know augment gave you aoe warping until mauvier rescue jumpscared me in chapter 19 on my first playthrough. 🙈

I think one of the other best part about micaiah is that sound effect that her shine makes, god that sounds so powerful
using her engrave to help with bonded shield users is a great idea actually 👀 i love the sheer diversity in tactics that the emblems allow for
Micaiah is an Emblem that came make Base Level Boucheron endgame viable, I think that speaks alone to how broken she is.
It’s almost crazy how helpful Micaiah is for SP and in rough spots in the late game.

The SP isn't nearly as beneficial as it was pre-well, but she's still the best Emblem.
@@lanceareadbhar it can still help in tandem WITH the Well.
Amazing editing! It's making me interested in Fire Emblem now

This is a terrific video idea and was very well made. Excited to watch the rest of them. Hopefully the 7 bracelets too

Great video as always!
Biggest glow up from her base game to Engage?! I'd say so, must be why she's a light mage!

Hell yeah! Micaiah is peak. Great availability and still useful in the endgame.

Should have just stopeed after Best, no need to specify Emblem, she's peak in any form.❤

I don't plan on watching the speed run until I am done with his game, but I wouldn't be surprised if michaih was one of the characters used
Macciah is the best emblem yahoo

(This is a joke) but surprised this is coming out after the SGDQ speed run
And we thought four way dancing was broken, hahahah. Intsys proves they can out do themselves once again. Seriously every map that micaiah is on devolves into “couldn’t I just skip this” and the answer is a resounding yes every time. Love her or hate her, she’s the best there is at what she does

Micaiah and Sigard are definitely the best Emblems in the game.
In my opinion it is the best.
I want to be engaged to Micaiah
Oh no, Hortensia's personal skill only applies to healing staves.
Augment alone is better than most Emblems.
Yes
It is still quite funny that the overpowered staff utility Emblem comes from the game where staff utility (and indeed magic in general) is arguably at its weakest in the series.
No matter what she is WAIFU-material

No
Pro tip : if can't stand Hortensia's voice play with jap voices.
Yes
