That sounds like a rough situation: “the last ten of these synchronizers have had fitment issues..”. Sucks to be those ten customers, but I realize that we as technicians learn things the hard way sometimes.
Thank you for the help, my input shaft just sheared of on mine and in the middle of tearing into it had some prices fall out, being the synchro hub springs and pieces.
Andrew just to correct you at 7:25, the reverse slider CAN be installed flipped backwards. Causing the "house shapes" to be pointing away from the syncro. Same for 5th slider.
At 1:03 you said the slider only goes on one way and that you had a video on how to assemble. do you mean there is only one orientation (taper up or down) Or only one rotational position?

The comment was under the presumption that they were pointed the correct direction, in which case theres only one way they can go.
It’s mandatory your synchronizer dipping bowl be stolen from your wife’s kitchen 😂
She still gives me crap about it, and I keep reminding her shes not getting it back.

Can you do your shim measurement then order the shims you need + a couple extra .001 to be sure?
You could try but a simple shim kit will generally suffice.
