Here is the Motorcraft part number for the upper left HVAC blend actuator 6R3Z-19E161-B or YH-1870. I do not recommend the aftermarket actuators. Poor quality, don't fit as well, not worth it, in my opinion. See my other videos relating to this task on Mustang 05-14 models.
With your help, just got it done. I was lying on my back looking up and feeling around to find that the 8mm screw was completely covered by the plastic vent. Removed the instrument cluster and still tough to reach. Your tip worked out great. Much appreciate it!
thank you so much the dealership wants $1600 to fix this issue they told me it takes 6 to 8 hours to take the dash apart just to get to it the another 6 to 8 hours to put back together very upset with AutoNation very happy i found this video thank you for posting this
This is why engineers should be required to be a mechanic a couple years. They need experience building what they’re designing so they can see the obvious design flaws in things like this.
Replaced the defrost actustor and the floor actuator on the passenger side, HVAC is still stuck on defrost, even after calibration. I made sure the vents were not stuck either. I have a 2014 with manual climate controls, is this the same process as the 05-09s? Can't find a part for it but I'm still looking.
Reset the car's main computer. There are many good videos on how to Properly do it. And do not just disconnect the battery. There are additional things you have to do to properly reset a car's computer. And make sure you do it while the engine is stone cold.
My ac/heater works from the defrosters and leg vents. When I turn on the regular vents the the air blows very low on all settings. I checked the fuses and replaced the blend door actuator. It didn't fix my problem. Was this a symptom you had?

I have nothing but hatred for the man who put that top one where it is

Unfortunately they are in the business to make a profit and pay for labor and all that stuff they have in the shop.
And time is money. This task is not necessarily "easy" for the average guy/girl.
Nice video...i was having the same problem with my mustang and I bought that tool and it was more easy with that tool to change the ac actuator

What marvelous engineering. Jesus put the duct right over the screw on top 🤬

Reset the car's main computer.
And can you rotate that blend door by hand? Might be something blocking it.
Here is where you can get a round ratchet. Priceless item. amzn.to/3H6AF0o
