- Hi guys!!
I forgot to mention this in the video but I used DK weight yarn, and unfortunately I don't know the exact amount of yarn I used as I just bought 2 500g balls of acrylic and used them, but if I were to guess I would say I used about 70g of white and 200g-250g of green!
Enjoy this tutorial!! Any questions obvs just leave them below and I will try my best to answer ♡
if you recreate my patterns please credit me by mentioning my youtube channel/tagging my instagram @crochetgal100. If you are selling items you created using my videos, you must credit me by crediting my youtube channel/tagging my instagram @crochetgal100. thanks guysssss

the sweater vest only took me 4 days and I'm so excited to make more! I was intimidated at first to try to make it since I'm still a beginner but it was still easy to do!! Thank you! It was the perfect christmas present for my sister :)
what type of yarn did you use (brand, where you bought it, quantity, etc)
@@cindyli5422 I just went to Michaels and to the yarn section and found 100% acrylic year that was medium weight (5mm hook size) as for the amount of yarn I think I got about 300g of yarn? (it's been so long ago I can't remember 100% lol)I think the video mentions how much she used

Everything about this video makes me feel so calm, the accent, the sound of the tools clicking against the table, the “gorg” every now and then. I really liked ur tutorial it’s really clear and you make sure to get it on camera for the hard stuff. I just made it in like an ombré blue/white-ish yarn (idk how to explain it) and it looks so cute, kinda giving me a low-fi frosty the snowman vibes (idk if anyone knows what I’m talking about lmao). Keep it up!
Thank you so much!!😭💓💓 And that sounds amazing!!💓💓💓
just the vest i was looking for n it turned out great, btw from my experience/guess, you only rlly need around ~70g of white and ~200g of green. thanks for the tutorial

After having made two vests with different types of yarn, here are some tips I’d like to share:
I strongly recommend while crocheting the first piece to count your rows, and maybe even the stitches so you can make the second piece identical to the first one.
I’ve had to redo my rows on the 2nd one several times because of small inaccuracies in the rows/ stitches that caused obvious differences when sewing both pieces together at the end (and yes I did measure it like she did but it still didn’t help).
I also recommend yarn with thickness number 4.5 and under, I tried it with chunkier yarn and it came out bulky and small so I’ll probably try soaking it with softener and try stretching it out. I also used a size 5 hook and that goes great with yarn sizes 3-4.5.
If you mix yarn with different thicknesses, try adjusting the stitch (and row) number to make the final piece look consistent in width.
Great tips! 💓
@@emmapcrochet Thank you so so much for your easy-to-follow tutorial and your amazing channel in general! Really rekindled my diy/crocheting spirit and I believe it does the same for other (especially younger) viewers as well ☺💫
You are so welcome!!💓💓💓
Hi, I followed her direction but for some reason by front panel where the V is, its way longer than hers and I don't know why, i stopped at 2.5 in and its super long and big, my yarn was a size 4 too Im so confused :((
i scaled down everything and made one for my stuffed bear and it looks so cute! i might do one for myself because of how much i loved this
💓💓💓💓
DID YOU ?!?!
hi there!! I had the exact same idea!! How did you scale yours down?? I want to make it smaller but I'm not sure how to scale it down 😭

Thank you to the owner of the video, she helped me a lot and I think she is very good as a teacher because the explanation is clear. I hope mathematics like this anyway. Using a Bobby pin as a stitch marker feels so smart how did I not think of this haha
omg thank you i’ve been looking for something like this for ages and you explain everything so well!!
Yay thank you so much!! That is the best compliment ever 💓💓💓
Honestly I say this out of frustration and gratitude
Thank you so much for putting the measurements as per the inches of it and not just the number of stitches. As a person who loves to crochet I can’t afford this type of thick yarn so I have to make do with what I have which is thinner yarn and obviously that makes a difference with the number of stitches. Whenever I watch tutorials they just say the number of stitches and not the actual measurement in inches and it makes me feel like giving up more than half the time and I feel like I can’t really learn it
So thank you
It may seem small and insignificant but it’s big and very much significant to me
Just finished making the vest with stripes! Really good tutorial and easy to follow, thankyou!

Hi there! I just wanna thank you for making it so easy for beginners to learn from your channel. So thank you for making it easy for me to learnn!!
Wow thank you so much!! I am so glad you enjoy them💓💓💓💓
i just finished making this and it looks GORGEOUS ty for the tutorial🤍
Hello all! I have completed my very own sweater vest with this tutorial. ^^ Just want to post a comment here to update everyone and my own future reference.
Some changes that I (accidentally) made:
- For the white ribbing, I accidentally done 20 inches instead of 19.5 inches.
- For the collar, I done 1 row of hdc, 1 row of sc and 1 row of hdc all in white. I did not switch colours.
- For the arm hole, I done 1 row of hdc and 1 row of sc all in white. The video only showed 1 row of hdc.
All in all, I used:
- 200g of mint green yarn (with some leftovers)
- 50g of white yarn (with some leftovers)
My yarn is Cotton Soft DK (4ply version of 🐄 Brand).
I like your work. You seem really chill. Thank you for the idea🙂❤
Thank you so much!! 💓💓💓

You’re so talanted!!! I love your work 10/10😍😍😍
Thank you so much!!
Hey! Love this pattern, thank you for sharing your creativity with us, Emma :) I love your style so so much!! This video was super easy to follow!
I just wanted to share how I used this pattern in case anyone was wondering about alterations/different yarns. I used a (cheap!) worsted weight acrylic because I didn’t have any DK weight. I used a 200g ball that is 354yards for the main colour. It was just the perfect amount for the size I made, but definitely not any extra to spare. I just used a scrap ball of white acrylic, maybe 15-20 grams or so (sorry I don’t know the exact yards but its not very much!). I used a 5.5m crochet hook to keep the nice drape of the vest.
I also decreased the band measurement (the white ribbing) to 17 in. I normally wear a size XS to S in shirts and I’m a 34B bra size (good to know bust circumference wise! :P) . This made it still slightly oversized but a bit closer to the body for me.
Hope this helps anyone :)
Amazing!! Thank you so much!!💓💓💓

@@emmapcrochet I'm a bit confused because I have a different technique for the hdc. When I'm doing the decreases for the neckline, should the stitch count drop one or two stitches? (e.g. if I started with 20 stitches on that row, should I have 19 or 18 on the next one?)
Hi! If you decrease the stitch count drops by 1! So if you had 20 stitches and then decreased 2 stitches together you will have 19 stitches x
