  • Hiked Angels Landing during Thanksgiving week. Crowded but still fun and gorgeous weather. The shuttles are mandatory in summer through November so allow extra time to get to the trailheads.

I would never be able to do this hike due to my fear of heights. You just turning your head with the camera made my stomach turn. Haha. The views from up top are amazing so I will enjoy it through your eyes. Great footage, I felt like I was doing the hike with you. Its crazy how many people were on that trail.

Did this hike about 10 years ago. it was a great adventure. You said you don't need to be polite, but just after that the girl was extremely polite to you. Of course if you are in a difficult spot and you need the chain by all means don’t give it up just to be polite. I think that’s was your message?

Hard to believe the crowds now... years ago, I went to the top and we had maybe 5-10 people up with us... times change... but good to see the views!

It’s worse in person when it’s crowded but not so bad if you take your time and don’t look down!

Love that one. Shuttle is awesome. Best functioning one in NPS.
It's not super hard don't do it when wet. Go to Toroweap if you are here, via Mount Trumbull, not up valley, go to BLM AZ STRIP OFFICE in Saint George GET THE MAP!
AZ STRIP has 4600 miles of roads. 396 maintained.
Zion is 53 miles from Saint G, North Rim 140. Toroweap 86 over Trumbull. Snow Canyon SP in town. It's awesome.
Toroweap. Real deal. Rent a truck. Make sure spare is good. Two spares are better out there.

Outstanding video, Brother! Congrats on the weight loss and knee outcome. Are you wearing a HRM??? I am 62, still hitting Smith Lake between fires/forest closures and praying for rain. Putting this hike on my bucket list. Cheers!

Thanks. A little rain in the forecast finally. 62 is no reason to slow down. My new knees are working great and I really don’t need hiking poles but I use them anyway. Not sure what an HRM is. Hike on!

@@ApeMan Sorry. Heart rate monitor. I use mine to avoid spending too much time during redline BPM (beats per minute). Tahoe picked up some snow last night. Psyche. Btw, I ran into two rangers checking permits at Hemlock last June 10th, Desolation Wilderness. Hadn't been "carded" in decades. Regards.

Hi Apeman. What’s a good hike around Kyburz for a beginner? Around 6-8 miles with panoramic views and lakes? Thanks

The snow will be closing a lot of the trails until spring. Off Wrights Lake rd you can access the Lyons Creek trail for some great views of Pyramid Peak and a couple lakes. A great fairly easy peak is the Mt Ralston trail starting at Camp Sacramento. Great views from the top and around 6 miles round trip. Anything accessing Desolation is great!
