It is with utmost respect and honour I say...Rest in Peace Sorrell Booke, You made the show Dukes of Hazzard so incredibly great...I would have loved to have met you, shake your hand and thank you for years of laughter, pure entertainment and so much enjoyment. Again I say, Rest in Peace and God Bless.
Thanks Steve for all the hard work you do. Enjoy all you do to entertain us.
As a kid in the 80s I grew up watching this show, boy the memories ❤
Me too!
James Best lived just literally about 10 minutes from my house here in NC, and was neighbors of a coworker friend of mine. I met him once and he lived just a regular life, but never minded people bringing up Roscoe. He was an overall great and funny man. He is missed.
that's really nice to hear. thanks for sharing with us, FB!
You're welcome and can I suggest looking into visiting the graves of the original Hawaii five-0. May include a trip to Hawaii, but you deserve it.
@@fatbaby73 I'm sure James Best was likely intelligent in real life. Some actors who played dumb characters have above average intelligence. For example, I read that Lucille Ball had a high IQ, and Jill St. John who played a ditzy character in Diamonds Are Forever has an IQ of 160.
Just discovered your vlog. I met Waylon Jennings in the late 70's. I was working at a cable station owned by Warner. Waylon was under contract with Warner. He was such a colorful character. He will always be around with his music. Best to Jim. Come to Vegas for New Year's. A small one million revellers will be celebrating.
LOL, just a little LV get together. these days i'd rather just watch it on tv :-) that's so cool that you got to meet waylon. thanks, as always norma, for sharing with us!
Sorrell was actually far different than the character he played. He was highly intelligent. Had a degree from Yale and was a very accomplished actor. He was in many big television shows. He could speak 5 different languages and was an intelligence officer in the Army during the Cold War/Korea. As far as Waylon he also is interesting. One of the best kings of Outlaw country and that is why you are seeing the bullet casings on his grave. He has an interesting place in early Rock N Roll history though. He was was a guitarist for Buddy Holly and one of two who gave up his seat on the plane that subsequently took the lives of Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and The Big Bopper. Later it was called The Day That Music Died. I loved the show Dukes of Hazzard.
thanks for sharing all of this with us, rhetty. i didn't know any of this about sorrell. after you visited denver pyle's grave recently, i had a feeling you were a fan. hope you guys all had a nice christmas. i bet there were a lot of presents under your tree!
@@TheGraveyardChannel I hope you will reply to this Steve Sunday (11/19) I went to the cemetery to see my mama’s grave it was her death anniversary she been gone for 4 years and I still miss her….June 14 was 11 years my papa has been gone and I still miss him also

Thanks for sharing with us Sharon and the same to you 😊👍
Thank you for your hard work and all of the research that you do that makes your channel one of my favorites. The Dukes of Hazzard was one of my favorite shows as a kid. As a young adult, I had the honor of meeting James Best, who was a prince of a guy. He even called me a dipstick! Thanks again, Steve. From my family to yours, Merry Christmas and happy 2020.
lol, now that would be an honor to be called a dipstick by him :-) thanks for sharing that with us, hank, and the same to you and yours!
Love this show ‼️‼️‼️‼️🙋👍
Thanks for posting this Life after 65...great video.. Rest in Peace Sorrell Booke. Boss Hogg was the best!
thanks michael!
Another great video Steve love watching your channel. I used to watch the Dukes of Hazzard reruns when they still came TV land everyday after school. I always wanted a 1969 Dodge Charger because of that show. I have always wondered why Denver Pyle doesn't have a headstone his grave is unmarked.
it's sad that so many famous people have unmarked graves :-(
I met John Schneider he came to Rochester New York at a car show and I give him a kiss on the cheek I was so happy to meet him
very cool. thanks for sharing that with us, debbora!
Hello fellow Rochesterarian. Im from Rochester, NY as well. I would have loved to meet John Schneider.
Steve pls keep up the great work, we love these Videos
thanks, BC, i appreciate that.
Just some good ol boys! 🎶🎸!loved this show watched w my dad ! Happy holidays!🌲🎅⛄❄️🦌✌️🎸🎸🎶🎶
happy holidays to you too, karoline!
I use to watch the Dukes with my grandfather back in the 80s, loved the show
I met Sonny Shroyer, James Best, and Ben Jones at a car show here in Louisville, KY back in about 2004. I had my 4 year old son with me and he had just begun watching the Dukes of Hazzard on dvd and was excited to meet the characters. Sonny wouldn't even speak to us unless we bought his merchandise he was selling which was disappointing. James Best saw what happened and went right into being Rosco and left his seat and approached us. He spoke to my son about always being a good boy and using his manners. Such a sweet man and thankfully we got it all on tape. Ben Jones was also very nice.
That’s really cool. Thanks for sharing this great memory with us Greg 👍
Hi, Steve! Another great vlog and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
thanks, al, and the same to you!
Use to love the Dukes of hazzards thanks for sharing.
thanks, fred!
Dukes of hazzards is still a great show. Only like the original not the more recent revivals. Had a huge crush on Luke Duke. My favorite character was Roscoe and his dog. Thanks for this video. Yes Big Bill Anderson has some awesome vlogs as well.

thanks for sharing this with us, turok, and the same to you!
Waylon Jennings had been a member of Buddy Holly's band and was on the Winter Dance Party Tour in 1959. He gave his seat on the ill-fated flight to the Big Bopper, who had the flu. Waylon's last exchange with Buddy haunted him for the rest of his life. They were joking and Buddy said "I hope your bus freezes." Waylon replied "Yeah, well I hope your plane crashes." He never got over that.
i remember hearing that. i can't imagine having to live with that memory the rest of your life. fate!
And Tommy alsup and richie valens flipped a coin for the last seat on the plane so Tommy's life was saved by a coin flip
Yes Waylon was a rock n roller before he was Country. R.I.P. Waylon and Buddy. Shawn
@@shawnbeck2303I love ❤️ Waylon Jennings he’s one of my favorite country singers….I hope you will reply to this
@@TheGraveyardChannel Steve I hope you will reply to this did you know Waylon sang the theme song to the Dukes of Hazzard Just the Good ‘ Ol Boys?????…he also appeared in an episode in the final season the plot was his museum on wheels 🛞 got stolen

This was one of my favorite shows growing up as a kid and then my kids liked it. So much that we’ve named our first dog Daisy after Daisy Duke! 🐶
how fun :-)
You forgot Sonny Shroyer as Enos Strait on the living characters still alive. He is technically the oldest of the surviving characters still with us. I'm a HUGE fan of this show. Just letting you know.
thanks for mentioning him, elizabeth!
I was going to say that you forgot Enos lol. My aunt Maxine worked with him in an insurance office in Valdosta GA before he got into acting.
How old is Sonny?
@@nickefgen9219 He is 86!
@@amygrugan5001 thank you I was wondering about that
I met Roscoe and Enos at a carshow in 2002 or 2003 I ask Enos while pointing at Rosco saying Does he Call u Dipstick in real life? Everybody laughed and Enos was like No thats just on TV I have a picture signed by them too iy was great meeting them
lol, how fun. thanks for sharing with us, kelly!
kelly berry I actually met the Boss at a car show where one of the General Lees was on display. Nice fellow (nothing like his character) and I even got an autographed 8x10 picture of him, but it got lost over the years...
Cool, I met Sorrel Booked when I was a kid at an Auto show in Detroit, very nice guys! I met hulk Hogan, and macho Man Randy Savage also there, and they remembered me when I moved back to Florida.
wow, how cool. and you must be a very memorable guy!
@@TheGraveyardChannel No, just did some landscaping for Randy... And Terry (Hulk) hangs out locally here in Tampa & St Pete...
Thank you Steve , nice video. I still chuckle thinking of the things Boss would say to Roscoe.

Wow. Thank you. I hang my autographed photo of Sorrell on my wall with pride. The guy was amazing. Spoke many language's. Crazy. I still watch Duke's of Hazzard everyday. Every episode is like a mini movie. Dosen't compare to any of the trash today on TV. I just saw a video of him fishing with James Best. Search for it.

I got to meetJames Best a couple of years ago when he attended the Greenville Graffiti Car Show.

When Waylon and Willie did the Four Horseman song STRAIGHT 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥I cant remember the other gentleman but I knew they were famous as well. Cooter was my favorite!!!
Great show Steve, I never watched the dukes.
it's not too late :-)
@@TheGraveyardChannel not a chance, the dumbest show on tv, worse than the love boat.
Never really watched the show, not even once, but have been a fan of several actors who starred in The Dukes of Hazard.
it's not too late :-)
@@TheGraveyardChannel honestly, I haven't turned my tv on since June 23, 2018, 18 months. I've watched at others houses occasionally, but I find my entertainment on RUclips. Merry Christmas, Steve.
They did find one of the original General Lee cars in the TV show in Georgia a few years ago.Last time I knew they were going to restore it and didn't give out the paint code they were painted.Ben Jones does have a couple museums in Tennessee and Virginia called Cooter's Place, you can get your picture taken in the General Lee there. The General Lee stunt cars had 318 engines in them and the others had 440s in them,Mopar guru Mark Worman mentioned this in an episode of Graveyard Carz.He restored one of the original movie version cars
i was hoping to stop there on my road trip this past summer, but ran out of time. thanks for sharing this with us, walter!
Walter Fredrick I've been to Cooters garage it's a really neat place to visit my husband got to sit in General Lee in 2006 when we went to visit family in Asheville NC we went on a day trip over to Gatlinburg TN he loved it there the Smokey mountains are just so beautiful. And breath taking.
None of the cars had a 383? I would think at least some would.
R.I P to the cast of dukes of hazzard..my favorite actor in dukes was james best..
I love the tribute to Sorrell Booke. Beloved Boss. Saw him in a 1972 Barbara Streisand movie What's Up Doc.
Made many TV appearances on Streets of San Francisco, Hawaii Five-0, Cannon, the FBI, Barnaby Jones. Whenever I see a white 1969,1970 Cadillac de Ville convertible everyone mentioned Boss Hogg.
Great vlog Steve, loved the dukes as a 6 year old kid, over this side of the pond. Couldn't figure out at the time which i liked more Daisy Duke in them shorts or the Dodge challenger..LOL
lol, thanks, lynt. hope you guys have a nice christmas!
I always wash Dukes of Hazzard and I always liked the show thank you very much you did a good job Merry Christmas bye-bye
Going to quote Boss Hogg and Roscoe and say "You Dipstick!!!!!!!" You forgot Sonny Shroyer who played Deputy Enos Straight
lol, thanks for mentioning him, kristen!
Merry Christmas and Happy new year Steve
thanks, angela, and the same to you!
Lots of good actors on that show! Those duke boys had the tightest jeans in show biz! And who can forget Daisy Duke! The last two seasons they did not film many stunts! They took previously used footage and re-edited it to lower costs! Dooooh! Those Duke boys!! Coo Coo!!! THanks Steve!
lol, they definitely had the sex appeal :-) fun times. thanks, miles!
I used to watch the show when I was way, way younger. But without reruns I can hardly remember one single episode, my bad LOL. I wish all of you a merry Christmas, I just sing I am dreaming of a white Christmas for it is all I can do, since the rain is poring down here. Greetings from the Netherlands.
hope you have nice weather for christmas. thanks, PE!
I wanna wish you a Merry Christmas 🎄🎁, from the bottom of my heart 🌞 and happy new year from Wiesbaden 🍸🍀
thanks, regina, and the same to you in wiesbaden!
Hi Steve. I did't watch this show much, but i am a big fan of James Best and Denver Pyle. Both of them were regulars on the many TV westerns I watched long ago. Gunsmoke, Lawman, Track Down, and others plus western movies. Great actors. I enjoyed your journey as always. Thank you for your excellent presentation. MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and your family!!
thanks for sharing with us, pamela, and the same to you and your familiy!
Denver pyle was my favourite actor on the dukes i named my son after his character name
That's funny I named my oldest son after coy duke. The blonde haired duke replacement when bo and luke was while we're on strike it whatever it was. Dukes was a huge part of my life when I was kid and still yet as an adult
You forgot to mention Sonny Shroyer, who played Enos Strate deputy Sheriff on the show. He's 84 years old now in Valdosta, GA. Also Christopher Mayer who played Vance Duke, he passed away July 23 2011 (57) in Los Angeles CA, and Byron Cherry who played Coy Duke who is alive at 64 living in Hotlanta, GA.
thanks for mentioning them F!
I never realized Boss Hogg was one of the tribe (Jewish like me.)
Good ole Bill Anderson! He’s a gentle soul much like you are.
Merry Christmas to you and your family and to all your viewers! And have a GREAT New Year!
thanks for sharing, anthony, and happy hanukkah!
Visiting Gravesites With Steve Thank you Steve!!!
I visited Waylon Jennings grave the year after Jesse Colter made it public where he was buried. I left him my sunglasses, and being Arizona in the summertime, I kinda regretted that! Lol seriously though, it was awesome to be able to pay my respects to Mr. Jennings in person. I still have the map of the Mesa Cemetery with Waylons grave marked on it.
there's something very special and memorable about visiting in person. thanks for sharing the memory of your visit with us, mario!
Merry Christmas
Would like to add Sonny Shroyer who played Enos is 84. Steve: Thanks for all yoyr work in making these vlogs. I would like to wish you and ypur family and all who subscribed to you a Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.
