- We upgraded to a new machine this year. We got the Toro 4000 series HDX Pro XL. It has a 35 hp Kawasaki engine. This is my first impression and review. Model 74020
I picked up a 4000 z master. Great Machine. This will be my 2nd Toro commercial machine.🏴☠️
I did the shop around and for the money vs quality of build, the Bobcat ZT-6100 is by far the best.
We don’t have a dealer around us for Bobcat
Very nice mower!
looks nice I wanted this but went with ferris do so mowing
Couple things you missed is that the HDX has the MyRide suspension platform and the electric deck lift. Both are negatives in my book. MyRide adds unnecessary weight. And the electric deck lift is just one more thing to malfunction. A Toro dealer told me that electric lift actuator is $1100. I never verified that though.
Very nice!
How do you like the 35hp Kawasaki engine? Does the extra power help on the cut quality?
I notice the extra power the most when we have to cut a tea thick grass or when the grass is wet. In normal conditions cut quality is same. Does have a faster ground speed. The down side is it uses a lot of fuel
Wish they were that cheap in Australia lol
Thank you for the video how much it was
About 14k out the door

USB port for some clip on fans
Nice mower. I wanted to mention that I have the 31 hp fx921 on a John Deere 960m and it drinks a ton of fuel! Basically I average 2 gallons per hour when I use it. I just purchased a Scag stand on 52 inch mower with the 37 hp vanguard and it uses just over 1 gallon per hour (usually between 1.1-1.25). I will say that the 31 hp Kawasaki has more power overall but the fuel consumption almost doesn’t make it worth it with the current gas prices. How is the fuel economy on the fx1000? I hope you are getting better fuel economy than I am with my fx921 lol
It definitely drinks the gas
I’ve got a 3000 with the fx801v and it will drink fuel at full throttle, if I back it down a few hundred rpm it helps a ton and it has the torque to keep up
@@freedomisntfree_44 that makes sense. The only issue is that I have heard that running a mower under full throttle is bad on a mower.
@@jadonnoble5621 it’s designed to run at full throttle I guess 🤷♂️ I change my oil at 75 hrs and have had a few reach 1500-2000hrs before upgrading and they still ram like a top. Gotta stay on top of clean fuel clean oil and clean air though
The fx1000 is the same motor as the fx921 with a higher compression ratio. It’s gonna drink fuel. I have a fx921 on a gravely, plenty of power, but I burn over a gallon an hour.
