  • I've owned the ole GL1500SE for a year now so I should at least let you all know how its been. Its been GREAT! I haven't had to repair anything, just general maintenance, and added a fork brace. I ride my bikes hard, but the Goldwing don't mind. Hope you like the videos! Thanks for watching!

    I am on my third Goldwing and I wont ride anything else. The CB is being used a lot by Goldwing groups that ride together. Not sure if yall are using the onboard intercom but that is one of the features we like a lot. I rode my 1500 for 13 yrs and many states loved that bike. It was my favorite of the three that I have owned. But now I am on a 2012 and the extra power is amazing . Thanks for the video, I subscribed and invite you to visit my channel. Be safe, have fun.

    Been binge watching GL1500 videos and think, partly thanks to you, I will have one soon. Should be a nice contrast to a Honda Cub...
    Cheers from the UK.

    Great video, thanks for sharing your first years feelings and reflections.
    I also recently gravitated to Goldwings. I bought my first ever Goldwing march of this year. Tired, yet complete. A once well loved 1983 gl1100A. I did the usual 75k mile service on it (not really but what i imagine it should be).suspension rebuilds x 4, belts changed, carbs rebuilt, new tires, tune up and ride. next up to repair, a head gasket thats starting to smoke under load.
    I loved the whole Goldwing experience so much, I bought a 1990 gl1500SE when one locally became available at a ridiculously low price. This bike I love it even more. i am so impressed with this bike I'm kicking myself for not trying one 30 years ago.

    I took my gl1100 off road, my gl1200 i would take on gravel roads especially for camping with my tent trailer. Now I have a gl1500 I don't think I will take it off road but definitely gravel roads so I can still go camping. Keep the rubber side down

    • @AdventureJeff269
      @AdventureJeff269  5 месяцев назад

      The gl1500 did great for reasonable off reading. I obviously wouldn't take it on sandy single track if I wanted to keep it nice, but with a bit more aggressive tire. I'm sure it would do it if you didn't care enough lol. Thanks for watching. There will likely be more touring bike footage in the future.

    Got mine 2 years ago, pretty much for the same reasons you mention. Put 4300km on a two up camping road trip last month, it was just perfect ! I'm really impressed how well this bike handles in dirt/ gravel roads. My only problem is all the plastics are kinda falling apart because of its old age (it's a 1990).

    Nice touring machine I have the 2000 GL1500 SE with 25000 on the clicker. We love it picked it up in 2019 with a color matched trailer and color matched helmets along with intercoms for helmets for $5300. Definitely squirrely under 20 miles per hour going to rebuild front suspension with progressive springs and some new much need rubber on the rims. I'm also hoping to see improvement in the low speed control. It's the only complaint I have for the bike. I've had Harleys Kawasakis and Hondas It's a keeper.

    A lot of these bikes have just been sitting in a garage collecting dust for several years so deals can be found. The first thing you should do is the TIMING BELTS especially on those that have been sitting for a few years. There's a chance yours will be fine but a guarantee the bike will be junk if one breaks.

    I've converted the whole front end and will do the rear, but Superbright has no suggestions for the 3 bulbs on the trunk sides. What number did you use, and where did you get them?
    I converted my 89 for the brightness, and more so for the ability to redirect power to other things.
    Great video. Thanks. I really fell in love with mine after I ditched the running boards for the stock style pegs and controls.
    Ride on.
