I'm sure this idea has been explored but doing the NCAA style where there are 5 pairs from 2 countries and there are 5 bo3's to determine a country winner. I think that would be the best for fans and viewers but a total rework of FIVB, tournaments, and qualifications would take so much effort.
So, with the League, is the prize money going up? 😉 Good interview that shows again just how nonsensical it is to refer to teams as countries. "Today's semifinal is Brazil vs. USA" or "Italy scores against Australia" - teams and players are in it for themselves and in constant competition among each other. They are not interchangeable extensions of their national federations, as if it didn't matter who plays as long as it is the "right" country. Fans and media who approach beach volleyball this way do not respect the athletes who dedicate their lives to their careers. The more we keep nationalism away from this sport, the better.

Think 5 is too many. Only a few countries could reasonably compete in that and it would get boring. But 3 teams, that's feasible.

One way the federations compare/contrast is that the US doesn't have a convicted sexual predator on their roster 🤷♂️
