- Good morning! It's been a long time coming, but we made it! In today's video you will see me complete one last project and then....finally reveal our living room makeover. I have to be honest, I struggled with this space for a very long time - but in the end....it came together beautifully. I am speechless yet again! Why aren’t you doing this full time? Your design style is by far the best I’ve seen on RUclips (even better than the “professionals”)! You obviously have the passion and creativity for it! Another outstanding makeover!!!!

Oh my goodness - what a compliment!! 🥹 Thank you for that!!! I work really hard each week (in addition to a full time job) and it makes me so happy to hear that people are enjoying it. Here's an idea. In your spare time, have Jessica design a few small tables and cabinets, or anything that is practical but yet beautiful. Take them to New York or cities wherever square footage is at a minimum. Price the items for the extravagant buyer. See what happens.! I am a believer. Oh Lord, I sound so bossy. 😆
Jessica, I’m new here on your channel, I am so amazed at the things you and Mark create. I can’t stop looking at your videos. Your gift will make room for you!!! Oh, and we totally always 100% work perfectly together, with no debate or challenges. Right Jessica? 😇 The key is to keep talking it out, and sometimes someone may just have to give in and try do things their way, which may or may not prove to be the right way. You just can't get actually mad at the other person. You can get frustrated, maybe even a little snippy, but when you are both trying to figure things out you have to just appreciate that two people will often have 2 different ideas, and that's perfectly OK. It's even better than OK, as it's helpful so as to see all sides of a situation. My left brain and her right brain (or vice-versa, I forget which is which) eventually finds the right solution(s)

"You are AMAZING! In my opinion your vision for interior design is flawless. Everything comes together to reflect your spiritual eye for beauty.
Okay, let's talk. You are an outstanding interior designer. You are able to see the value in every piece you shop for. You can vision the piece of furniture you want and build it. You can design and make the most beautiful pottery. What am I missing? lol Oh yes, you love making things better than they were before you touched it. And what is your daytime job? lol Girl, you need to seek the Lord and find out when you need to make the change. Just saying........lol

I'm going disclose what I think is a secret, but I'll do it anyway. That table behind the sofa was mostly designed, materials purchased, and table built in one day. Sure, we had some ideas but we did not have much of a plan until we woke up one day and said 'Let's do this'. A part of the idea, other than the fact that we wanted a sofa table, is that sometimes you can build things yourself for not a lot of money. That table did not require fancy tools. For the bookshelves, good saws were really helpful but for this sofa table we did most of it with a hand-held jigsaw and an orbital sander and drill bits. We could have bought a table, or even thrifted a table, but with this we got whatever length and depth and color we wanted. Plus, the dowels in the soda table are a hat-tip to the dowels in the dining room table.

There is nothing more satisfying than seeing the vision in my head play out in real life. I pray that one day I can do this full time and I’m working so hard to make that happen. Oh my full time job is I work in healthcare - at a pharma company in scientific communications. A far cry from my true passion - eh. It’s paid the bills and help fund my dreams for years - but one day I would love to hang up my corporate hat for good. 🙏🏽 Thank you again for your kind words - from your lips to God’s ears (as I often say). 😘

As I looked through this space you’ve shared I see calm, and peace of mind. I’m sitting on the sofa or one of the chairs looking out watching the seasons go by without the measure of time…It would be so difficult to abandon this space…you and Mark have allowed for multiple variations and change of color based on your neutral palate…you have pops of color along with subtle earth tones which make it so warm and inviting. 6/25/24 Hello 👋🏽 New to ur channel. This is old, but' next time place the tree branch in water in a narrow vase. Place in down in ur large vase. Also! U can do that clear acrylic stuff that makes it look like it's in water. Just to preserve it. Be blessed 🙏🏾💜🌹

And that carpet is absolutely coming up and we’ll be replacing the railing as well. For now we are going to take a little break - but we’ll be tackling this project soon!!

Same!!! Luckily the fabric that we selected is premium and literally everything wipes clean very easily. I’ve already spilled a few things on it and with a damp cloth (which they showed us at the store) does the trick!! 😁
@@jessicapayne We saw a demo at the Pottery Barn store that convinced us the fabric resist liquids and stains. And, no children or pets are in the house.
White simply takes too much effort for me. White baseboards and window trim are next on that list 😅
When are y'all going to build a coffee table 🤔
We are waiting to figure out the couch situation first. We actually ended up hating the pottery barn couch and it's currently sitting in our kitchen, lol!!!! Once we find another one, then we can decide what type of coffee table or ottoman will best fit the space!

It's really her (Jessica). I offer guidance if I happen to have experience or knowledge about something but 1) we both have full-time jobs that are unrelated to design or building/renovating, and 2) More often than not, we'll say 'How are we going to attach this piece of wood to another [joinery]- and we then begin a conversation and that may lead to us watching RUclips videos. A lot of things we are really just figuring-out as we go. She wanted bookshelves of a certain size- we just created something that seems to have worked. There could be other ways, there could even be better ways. But, it worked for us and we literally sat around with pieces of scrap wood and said 'What if we did this' and 'What kind of wood can we get that will fit...' Once we had it planned-out with our little pieces of scrap wood, we went out and bought full-scale quantities of wood and did it.
