You are by far the best hiking youtuber out there, you are genuinely a fun person, the other vloggers always end up annoying me like crazy but you are the opposite if annoying, you would be so fun to hang out with.

Julianne, hikers will do anything for town food. Loved that you all decided to walk the extra miles, find a hitch to get to the malt shop then do it all again. Glad all of you thought afterward that it had been worth it. Looked like more river crossings than just 2. So glad Li'l Chap didn't slip enough to fall in that river. Couldn't help but notice that the pace and the miles hiked weren't as great after the trip to the malt shop. Lol. Congrats on reaching 300 miles. Ya'll take care. Stay safe. See you tomorrow.

OK, this is wild. Earlier today I watched the episode of Mama Bear/Little Bears' channel where they had this channel on in their motel room, and they thanked you for the shout out. And now here, on the same day, I see the shout-out. I don't know what that coincidence means, other than i am falling way behind on both channels, but I find the kismet to be pretty cool. Needless to say, I admire all of you ladies out there getting it done on these epic trails.

Fun fact: those (seasonal) streams flow to the Mojave River, which terminates in Baker.
In the early wagon train days, settlers had to make it from Los Vegas (marshes) to Baker to replenish their water.
They followed the Mojave and then over Cajon pass to the promised land.

I once met a Euro hiker on a May JMT trip wearing boots. (Primarily for the 3-6 miles of snow conditions before/after each pass.)
He was painstakingly taking them off and putting them on again at each crossing below. Eventually he gave up and just wore his sandals until once again reaching snowfields.
I explained why everyone wears trail runners + spikes. You simply need to get used to walking in wet feet, plus quickly throwing on spikes for traction, if you plan on making more than 5mpd.
