While some prefer sporty handling over ride comfort I prefer comfort.I am testing your memory you probably drove a Premium on the test drive did you find driving on the thicker Dynamic tryes gave a more cushioned ride? The Dymanic's smaller and lighter batttery may also help with ride qualkity did you notice any significant difference?
I prefer comfort ride too. I have only driven the performance and my dynamic. So if we talk about those small road bumps across whole stretch of road, those where they have done road repairs for that stretch, the performance selective dampening suspension amazingly absorbs all those bumps across the whole stretch, i can feel more of those bumps in my dynamic. I would imagine this will be worse for premium because of 19" wheels and no selective dampening. As with single deep pot holes like bumps, the dynamic handles it pretty well because it has smaller 18" rim, of course it can still be felt. The performance feels about the same with these type of pot hole bumps. Regarding weight difference between performance and dynamic, no i dont feel any difference. I only felt the weight difference when i switched over from driving my Civic (1400kg) to my BYD seal (2000kg). Felt the heavy weight of the fat Seal 🦭 when i drive up my driveway from the kerbside slope. My Civic RS sedan is a lot more nimble. Having said that, i won't say byd seal braking and cornering is worse than civic. Even though seal is heavier, its braking distance is a lot better and handled corners well because of its weight, i suppose.
@harithgc9070 the Seal is quite a lot bigger in the cabin. In terms of boot space the Seal is a lot smaller, but it has a frunk. There was once with my family and groceries, I had to use the frunk to put my backpack.
Great video. Here in Australia, we like to leave our windows down a small amount when parked in the sun. You can say when you push the voice assistant button on the steering wheel “crack all windows” or “wind all windows down 10%” but you do need to disable the close all windows when locked tab as described on the main vehicle setting screen. This also applies if you tilt only the sun roof, it too will remain open when the car is locked. A huge difference on a hot Australian summers day when you return to the car.
@haveaseatplease I was about to switch back to make my home security doorbell camera next, but your comment and Steve's comment above made me want to keep making BYD Seal videos. Thanks for the comment
Thanks for all your Seal videos, its really nice to see all the tiny details that get left out of normal reviews. I was wondering what the circle arrow button on the remote did :D
This is such a great video i wish there were more videos like this done for other cars. Possible suggestion for a follow up maybe review the different tech while driving like adaptive cruise control etc
Thanks for your feedback. I make videos on the tech gear I buy and use for myself, so I can show real experience of using them. I'm working on recording the drive so I can show the difference between ACC and ICC, but it's quite challenging to shoot such a video. Hopefully, i can get it. Thanks for the suggestion.
I think you have added a scenario that wasn't intended and think that walking away should change the vehicles stance. In reality you exit the vehicle close the door and press the button so it locks. It doesn't consider that you have walked away and returned. This sounds like intentional behaviour, and a habit that i practice when i leave my vehicle by manually locking the handle.
Glad you found it useful. Yes of course. Thanks for suggesting. I do have quite a lot of video topics that I would like to make and I'm still organising them. Topics like what the BYD Seal Mobile App can do, the boot, frunk and internal storage space, charging using a fast DC charger, etc. Your comment helped me prioritise a bit. Thanks.
How many door handles have sensors? I also had a Civic like yours with just two. Now I have a Peugeot with sensors at all handles and it's so comfortable when you have kids...
Here we instal 3rd party dash-cam for "kiasu" issues. Heard BYD software will be upgraded to use its car cameras - any idea. So hate installing lots of "extra" gadgets.
I think BYD must have watched this and heard you! Just seen Seal Dynamic in showroom yesterday and the handle automatically pops out plus the mirrors will automatically fold in when the car is locked.
My wife wasn’t happy that the doors were locked and she couldn’t get out, new Seal, I wasn’t quick enough to unlock, 😝 pull the handle twice has stopped me looking silly, couldn’t find that in the manual.
I wish BYD made an update for one pedal driving option. Please BYD, we need one pedal driving in Europe. We miss that strong regen. Hyundai ioniq 6 style.
Frustrating that it doesnt auto lock when you walk away and the car is turned off. So used to getting out of a car and walking away and it auto locks. Its one little gripe, but I can see it putting the car at risk.

Thank you for the prompt reply
You are welcome. Hope it helps
Hi since you have honda civic sedan, may i know in term of interior space, which one is bigger between Seal & Civic??

Nice little tips. I wish my BYD Seal has a sun roof to tilt like my old Civic Thanks for sharing.
I find all of your videos on the Seal to be excellent. They are incredibly detailed and insightful.
Thanks for letting me know. It's very encouraging. I'll keep making them.
Agree with OP, please keep making the interesting videos!@@SkyPerspective

Just me binge watching your Seal videos

Very happy to know my video is helpful to you. Thanks for your comment, letting me know.
Thanks for this tutorial. I had no idea my Seal has this manual unlock and open capability.
You are very welcome. That's why I made the video to share with all of us.
my goodness the blue is fantastic in the light! It looks dull in your garage imho but as a sucker for blue, it looks fantastic outside!
Yap that's what I love about this Atlantis blue colour.
This is such a great video i wish there were more videos like this done for other cars.

Tqvm, Sir...I'm getting my BYD Seal Performance shortly. Your video is most helpful.
Nice! Good to know my video is helpful. Congrats. Exciting times getting a seal.

Very informative thanks! Can you do a video explaining the ins and outs of the Seals included 4G Telstra Sim please?

6:00 Would you consider locking your car in your garage in case someone breaks into your garage? That would solve it?
That's a good suggestion. Security vs convenience is always difficult to choose.
Thanks for this tutorial. The Seal Premium offers 'courtesy seating'. Have you had a chance to explore this?
Unfortunately mine is a Dynamic 🙂

Is there a way to watch Netflix when standing still or other apps ?

Not sure about the upgrade but I will be installing the BYD dashcam soon.
I think BYD must have watched this and heard you! Just seen Seal Dynamic in showroom yesterday and the handle automatically pops out plus the mirrors will automatically fold in when the car is locked.
Really? It's good to know they are listening
But does the car also lock when you walk away, or do you still need to press a button ?
@@bathory_fan1722 that I am not sure.
There is a setting to turn off the door handle retraction function indefinitely when you leave your door unlocked for long periods of time.
Thanks, yes I know that and that's why I spoke about it at 6:25
BYD logo upside down reads "ChE". The word "che" can be "车" that means "land vehicle" or "car".
So interesting! Thanks for sharing.
How is it different ? It's same as Atto 3
The mechanical key 🔑 inside
@@SkyPerspective Atto 3 has exactly same physical metal key inside the fob

Maybe it could be unsafe? Car hijacking's

I think every car will lock the car if you have key with you while car unlocked
Every car??? You're joking right!
