Thanks to your valuable tips, strategies, guides etc BUT mainly the help with the save point (i didn't know that, just by checking, the time pauses...really help by taking a break). It took me 13 years to get them ^^ (well along those years I've played only the necessary hehe). Well for the 3 games at least. Just for fun: I've practiced a lot by sawing your video (practice makes perfect right?) and my time was 1H20min40s. Surreal for me dude, I've never thought I would make it. Thanks a lot for your help again. Really means to me. Now for next, I go to Silent Hill 2 . See Ya in part 2.

Ima try to 10-star this game now. Doing a leisurely let’s play now and had the dumb idea to try to run past all the gray children instead of shooting because I’m neurotically stingy with ammo and I hate gray children so much now. Watching you kill all of them is so satisfying lol
Sweet guide! I've never actually achieved a 10-star myself. I agree that it's something all SH fans should try. Have you ever a done a playthrough or speedrun with the View options set to _Reverse_ and _Self-View?_ I think it would be very challenging only being able to look over the top of Harry's head for the entire game.

A very good guide with some useful tips! The only one with commentary on RUclips if I'm not mistaken. You said that you don't have to be perfect. Well... in a way you have to be, like you were in the video. You don't have to be perfect in terms of combat, but you have to know exactly where you are going for every little detail of the game. Not too hard, as you said, but still a nice tough challenge. I think the biggest difficulty with 10 stars is time, which means deep knowledge of the game and 100% concentration. Personally I choose a late first save, somewhere after hospital and before the butterfly and the second one, right in the end, because I tend to get killed by the final boss, so I prefer to go in this battle without stress. Of course this strategy doesn't give you a margin for corrections regarding the kill count, or the shooting style. If one chooses to make the second save so late, my tip is try not to kill the larva children in the main hallway, and spare at least one in the Phaleg room if you can, because these 6-8 kills (with the respawns) might make the difference if your killing ratio is slightly unbalanced.
There are others with live commentary, skeletoncrusader and Mr. Mir did ones as part of their let's plays. I would say you don't really even need to be "perfect" in terms of direction either; in this video I spend waaay to much time fighting enemies. This time could easily be used when accidentally going the wrong way and needing to adjust. I'm glad you found my video useful, thank you for watching!
Noooo you got this!!! Don't give up! It takes a lot of memorization but once you know where to go, the time limit should be manageable. Maybe try SH2's 10 star, that game has a much more lenient time limit.
@@RuminInLove Oh I've done 2, 3, and 4 already. This is the only one I need. That said, I've managed to beat it in an hour and 32. Frustrating to be so close, but I am happy to know I just gotta shave off 2 minutes. Since I usually end with 25-40 extra shooting kills, I think If I completely ignore the enemies from the resort up till the Lighthouse, I should have JUST enough kills whilst saving time. I also might be able to save sometime with Nowhere as well. Well, time to try again.
It is done (1H 27M). Thank you. I probably won't attempt a no save run, though I could probably pull it off since the game isn't too difficult outside of Nightmare School and Float Stinger.
I had 10 star ranked all four of the Silent Hills and I'd say the green hyperblaster is probably the ultimate weapon of the series. Better than the sub-machine gun and sexy beam from SH3 even. If my memory is correct the hyperblaster is easy to lock onto enemies at long distance.
Great guide man, I'm really stressed about attempting this. What's the biggest threat in this run, you think? Because time seems ridiculously tight and it doesn't help Harry's aiming is terrible too. What do people most commonly screw up on?

I ask this because you'd get a melee kill rather than a short/medium shot + gun kill. Hope your channel grows, you're really talented. PS.: It really bugs me you rather use two med vials than a medkit, lmao
Thanks you! To answer your questions: The rifle is the best way to get shooting kills. Enemies move too quickly and sporadically in the 2nd half of the game for fighting kills to be optimal, since you would need to be constantly running right up to enemies to kick them instead of just killing them from a distance with a rifle shot. And you don't get "short/medium/long ranged kills", that's not really how it works. Every gunshot is calculated to be either no aiming/short/medium/or long; the distance isn't calculated when the enemy dies. This is why it's good to rack up medium-ranged shots in the hospital, despite using nurses to get fighting (kicking) kills. Also 2 health drinks is the same as 1 medkit, so there isn't any harm in using one or the other.
Yo rumin... So i just finished my 5th clear and it shows that I finished my 2nd clear... I think because i save the next fear on a new save, so does it count?
That shouldn't be the case. Every subsequent Next Fear playthrough should count as a new game clear. Just make sure you're not beating the same Next Fear game over and over again, it should be using the Next Fears that you unlock after every previous Next Fear playthrough.
If you use the gas tank on the chainsaw (and rockdrill) on a previous game clear then you won't have to use the gas tank on it again on subsequent playthroughs, as long as those playthroughs are done on the same Next Fear file.

There's a lot the final time doesn't take into consideration. Load screens don't count, text scrolling when examining and picking up items, and the timer will even slow down when the game lags (and this game lags a lot).

How could you take the chainsaw without taking the Gas Can first, in my PAL version I can't take it if I don't use the gas Can first :/
