Frankie’s smile is contagious with an angelic voice.
But my late father who knew him said Frankie private life was a mess when he wasn't singing he had a big ego had women problems and eventually the drugs took him down and out.
WOW! WHAT A VOICE. FRANKIE HAD SUCH A UNIQUE VOICE.🎶🎵🔥💯
he had a great voice.
I'm so lucky to have meet the last 2 of the teenagers at a rock n roll weekend for my 17th birthday
Very Lucky
How old are you now ?
@@changestillinfinity5550 24 almost 25 why?

This song was recorded 43 years before I was born and I love it ❤
Frankie and his group are all cutie pies. GOD Bless them all, and we miss Frankie so much.
I remember this like it was yesterday. What a voice, and what stage presence. Like Alan Freed, he knew how to win over audiences.
vc estava lá?
SO MUCH TALENT ❤ did him dirty didnt even pay them so sad, 😢..Only 1 Frankie!
why couldn't he lived longer. so we could meet him.
2022 and still this be swinging.
Me 2024
I still can't believe this amazing voice belonged to a 15 yr old
13-14 year old
He was 14 when they did this 1957 movie Mister Rock n Roll.
By 15 -16 Frankie voice change to a more deeper tone. The high kid voice was gone by then.
The one and only..the.voice.... no one better. Rest in peace frankie lymon
What a talent this Frankie Lymon! He should have had a career like Michael Jackson. What a shame it didn't happen like that.
Frankie did go solo like MJ the only difference Frankie voice change and they didn't give him the right singing material it didn't sell and the drugs stump Frankie solo career.
Love this, such an old soul!
💮Thank you😢😢😢

RIP the three members of The Teenagers
Sherman Garnes (June 8, 1940 - February 26, 1977), aged 36
Joe Negroni (September 9, 1940 - September 5, 1978), aged 37
Frankie Lymon (September 30, 1942 - February 27, 1968), aged 25
You will be remembered as legends.
man they ALL passed as very young men i mean 37? was the longest of them all?? why?
sherman passed oddly one year short frankie passed in 68 sherman 77 and one day earlier 27 frankie and 26 sherman but same month for both..yeah too much of a stretch but still somewhat odd but all tragic as they barely started to live any kind of life at all shit when i was 37 (58 now) at 37 i was still somewhat green ugh man thais is all sad frankie was very depressed as we know bc his voice wasnt as sellable as it once was bc his voice changed as they all do..i still say if he had the right agent he could have found a way to make it with his new deeper voice just needed to change material..im sure he didn't lose any talen just look at him a total natural none of that was lean..ED it all was inside of him when he was born maybe not the exact moves but the ability to pull it all off gracefully..speaking of graceful what ever happenned to that? thats gone as well now i guess..another tragety the music (music??) made today blows its god awful made even worse when you put this next to anything puked out today i wouldnt let a maggot listen to the garbage we call eh "music" today it if i may coin a phrase "GAG A MAGGOT"the worst part? thats not even an opinion its mucical FACT
Thanks for all that information.
Chronological facts, great....(but very hard for the heart to read; I know Frankie Lymon was, I'm afraid, shall we say, a little naughty, you know !).
Alan Freed, too; how lovingly-sincere his voice sounds when he introduces some songs on a reissued lp I have, from the '50's, to which I've not listened for years.
Thanks very much again.
Herman Santiago also an original member and co-writer of "Why Do Fools Fall In Love" is still alive in his 80's. Was still making public appearances as recent as 2019.

It feels like somebody wanted to destroy these guys & Frankie to make room for other artists they would make even more money with because they had a Larger Market. think about it...

Franklin Joseph Lymon 1942-68
I love this song i know its way befote my time this man wss a super super super talent .What seperates him from michael jackson is michael was marketed and promoted better he was robbed.I always thought where the hell was Mr lymon parents?
While Frankie was doing some wild shit, his parents were at home.
And the mother Jeanette Lymon was a single mother raising 4 boys 2 of her sons are on tour while the other 2 are having a normal life but soon Timmy would join the music industry and there older brother Howard would die from pneumonia in 1960 and the mother would die in 1961 of cancer so yeah it’s pretty heartbreaking 💔
And Frankie’s parents would split when Frankie was like 9 or 10
The difference between Frankie and MJ is like comparing night and day.Frankie was wild in his young life he smoke did drugs went with older woman when he was teenager he grew up too fast and hung out with the wrong people.MJ wasn't about that life as a teenager he was about show business.
Was he singing about his own death of drugs
Michael Jackson in another universe
I wonder: is this a playback or he's singing live without mic?
Lip syching their music.
The devil collected
Yep, Frankie Lymon gave his soul to the devil as a kid.
Only" why do fools... " is only a hit. Nothring folflows.
Only “Why Do Fools Fall In Love” and “I’m Not A Juvenile Delinquent” is a hit for me
It was one hit on the pop charts. But they had hit after hit on the r&b charts. Songs like 'I want you to be my girl' and "Share' were monster hits.
@@Duke-zu9li fair enough.
They had few other good songs to.But you got to listen to their album
Wonder how he was feeling in front of the audience. They were surprised he was black
@sashajay No one thought he would be white. Where did you hear that garbage?
@@Duke-zu9li Thats false, Franky Lymon is a very white sounding name and the way he sings sounds white b ecause Do Woop isnt really a black associated ganre in the 50s
@@TreyMessiah95 Guys weren't named Trevon back then. Frank, Eddie, Carl, etc, were common names then. In 1956 doo-wop wasn't black associated? In 1956 all doo-wop was black associated until a few years later. You've been watching too many modern gangster movies of it being non blacks. And back then the black kids all sang lead like Frankie. It was 'the' black sound for little kids. No white kids had that sound before Frankie
White fans knew Frankie and the teenagers was black .White teens knew Alan Freed played a lot of black rock & Roll entertainers on his Moondog show on radio.Or they went to Alan 's Rock & Roll shows.
@@Duke-zu9li Let not forget Black 4 Part Group Hamony was not call Doo-Wop music in the 1950s.The word Doo- Wop came years later. It was often referred to simply as “vocal group harmony” or "rock and roll"
