My Parents divorced in 1977 and at that point music was all i had to cling to or take me to another place where there was no yelling and screaming . Before my Mom passed away in 2008 i Thanked her for so many things and for having me in 71' . The music is and will always remind me of when we used to be a family.

This is what happens when you put 2 great voices with 2 good voices. The fact that Cass and Denny were able to control their voices so that they didn’t totally blast the voices of the Phillips was what made this band so great, IMO.

Maybe, but Cass only tried blending in a couple times. Usually, she was always blaring in the background. That's why the group never had "background" vocals in my opinion. ALL the vocals were about them or by them.

I was 14 when this song was released…remember their harmony so well. ‘65 was a good year…too bad many iof you weren’t born-or you were too young to appreciate the 60’s-but it’s nice to see the appreciation and wistfulness expressed by younger people today. It was truly a musical revolution for my boomer generation. We dragged the world along in its wake.
Now,fast-forward a few decades…and we’re still sharing and enjoying the vibe..together, which sums it up for me.😊

58 years ago tomorrow on Saturday, May 7, 1966 Mamas and The Papas hits number one with Monday, Monday. How I wish 1966 was here to stay.

I’m a 80s teen, but still remeber these songs of the late 60s when I was so young. Time flies.
