My oldest brother was one of the few people who experienced gba 4-swords as intended: with 3 other friends with their own copies, and with link cables, on a highschool bus trip.
When I was in high-school I had 3 friends who all had their GBA and A Link to The Past and we had a 4way link cable. We played though the levels at lunch time. It was really fun and there was a reward system that filled Links House with cool decorations and stuff from the completed levels in the 4 swords game. I didn't realize that that was a rare thing. But I'm glad I got to experience it.
@@chrisjohnson9542 That's nice. Sadly, at my (rural) highschool (2006-2010) I was the only "Nintendo" boy and the only one who had a Wii. All the other boys only cared about Xbox, Halo, and PS3. They just called Nintendo "stupid" and "for babies". It was no better in Junior High.
@@TAGanimationyeah well jokes on them other than stuff like ouya all systems have good games, just maybe not ones where you can say mean things in lobbies lol.
@@chrisjohnson9542I first played ALttP on that old gba cart, still have it and my beaten file to this day. But I never got to play Four Swords sadly…until the anniversary edition, and now finally on NSO with my family and online play. Fully beat it with all the keys, medals and extras, and now I can play the ALttP half with the extra content too. Feels good to finally get to do that. Now the GBA version might be my definitive ALttP version lol Even tho the SNES version is still a masterpiece and has a few advantages. It’s tough to compete with two campaigns on one cart, multiplayer and extra content. I think a lot of people never got to play the multiplayer Four Swords and unlock the new content in ALttP. If they did, I think a lot more people would prefer the GBA version. So much stuff they’re missing out on! It’s a fantastic package
This game saved my life. I was in 8th grade when my step grandmother gave me a gameboy advance SP she found cleaning up her house. Low and behold a link to the past four swords was the only game for it. At the time I was being abused by my biological grandmother I was being bullied horrifically at school and having to wake up in the middle of the night to break my mom and step dad up from him beating on her. I was helpless and I felt like I had the weight of the world on my shoulders. I had to suffer in complete silence and this game was the only thing that made everything seem okay for a short time. It felt good to actually be needed and wanted. Saving hyrule and meeting the wonderful people throughout the adventure shaped how I view the world and myself. I don’t have to hate myself. I am a good person and I can help people just like link did.
"I can help people just like Link did." I never played A Link to the Past, but that is the exact thing I thought after completing Majora's Mask. Link changed everyone's lives for the better. I can too.
Had the same game boy and pretty much played super Mario world 2 all the time as a kid when I did use it, remember like yesterday how simple being a kid was

@@retrolot2027 arghh. I just found my GBA and I thought the screen was brighter. Hmmm. I’ve had it since 2002, it saved me from dying of boredom working at Disneyland on the slow days. Cheers

@@RemoWilliams1227 no loss on them. They're all likely to have wives and nice cars and houses while women wouldn't even give me the time of day.
