I’m a guy in my 30’s who recently decided to upgrade my wardrobe, and I just have to thank you for this channel. You have so many videos that have been so helpful during my process. Thanks a lot for the work you do Mr. OG!
I appreciate this type of video. Helping us men learn how to dress ourselves for work or interviews. Simple I know but not all of us know. Thanks again✊🏽
100% right, love the tip on raising your hands. I’ve made the mistake before when having to downsize to get a snug fit around the shoulders only for my top to be only just touching my belt so any movement and my stomach is on show. Keep up the good work, salute 👍
Right on the money! If you are going to wear your shirt tucked in, I would recommend getting shirt stays in effort to avoid re-tucking your shirt over and over again throughout the day. Great video. Salute!
Good information, Jeff. A really heavy shirt can be worn untucked and unbuttoned like a jacket, especially a lined shirt. It is definitely for a casual setting.
Just been converting some meant-for-tucking shirts to untucked version, by cutting the hemline straight and sewing in a new hem. Also nice trick for the shirt you are wearing and is a bit too narrow (or the pecs are too big): it pulls a bit between the upper 2 buttons. You can fix that by stitching the shirt together between those 2 buttons. Put the machine rather loose, so it is easy to remove the stitches when needed. It becomes a pull over shirt, but you do away with the gaping hole that occurs now and then.
Awesome. Except I walked around all day in yellow trousers and a white short-sleeved button-down shirt that falls exactly middle-zipper, that for some reason I decided to wear tucked. But you live and you learn. ;)
update this or do a compilation that'll put all your old videos mixed with you uploading the new ones. Style Tips 101 in 5-10 minutes or less or more. My man, love this video.
I usually tuck my shirt for work, however if I'm going to be casual it's untucked(when I wear t-shirts or polo with Jordans for ex.) I will keep your advice when I dress either up or casual next time.... #Salute
I've had this doubt most of my life, this is why I rarely wear formal button shirts, now I know the basics and will be looking to wear more types of shirts. 👍
Don't know if you missed it, bit there is a store "untuckit" which only sells shirts that are meant to be untucked. And they display their untucked shirts with sweater and untucked below it.
Some shirts are just too long and you just might have to get them tailored if it already has a straight hem to fit better. Easy to make a tailioring choice if its a shirt you like and will have longevity in your wardrobe.
Another great video OG! On some casual shirts that are too long to wear out I will partial tuck them. To some I know that may not be their taste but I'll roll with it on denim shirts and flannels. That's a temporary fix that use until I get to the tailor. At the moment it's kind of a thing, I've seen it a lot recently on male and female clothing models. Mostly in a street look situation. I tuck all dress shirts however. That partial tuck!..... Lol
Rule of thumb if a shirt has a rounded tail hem its a dress shirt or similar and should be worn tucked in. If the shirt has a straight hem and even across the bottom can and likely should be worn untucked.
Hello O.G! If I'm wearing a shirt casually with shorts, is it ok to leave it untucked? It's a button down shirt with a slightly curved hem. The shirt fits me well, it's just a bit long.
Once again another great video O.G I love that last little tip about people trying to untuck the shirt that's been scrunched up all day, completely sloppy look. Want to know if you got any tips to keep a caller straight throughout the day? I have a couple button-down Polo shirts and when I use my casual briefcase with a shoulder strap, the collar gets messed up sometimes anything you got for me?
Up graded my wardrobe with a few slim fit suits and shirts, I think the shirts give a better look untucked, just wanted your input on tucked or untucked with a suit.
I don’t think that stiff collar long dress shirts look out of place untucked. I nearly always wear mine like that with or without a tie and the top button fastened
Good info O.G...As a tall person, I like the look of slightly longer untucked shirts as I believe it looks more “balanced” between the upper and lower parts of my body...just sayin’.
I have a major problem with this one here. I'm a 5`7 , muscular with a 17 and a half neck. When I get my shirts tailored there's no way I can wear it non tucked.
Yo, SOG - the shirt that you are wear is pulling at the second and third button. For me this is a sign of being too tight or tailor incorrectly. If you tailor do not bullet the shirt correctly this normally happens to shirts. I know this is a little nit picky.....
@@TheStyleOG no worries. Still a great video like always. I spoke about you channel on the Godfrey show on XM radio channel 126 Urban View. Godfrey is trying to improve his look and I told him that you are the person to watch. Hopefully he will invite to his show.

I have a lot of nice tuck-in dress shirts. Is it possible to have them custom tailored at the hem to fit untucked?

I like the last tip the most. If you’ve worn it tucked in all day, leave it tucked. That’s a great insight

My husband has started to tuck his T-shirts in and I just can’t. :(
Definitely a touchy subject and Thanks for dropping those gems Jeff.
Best life hack I've come up with is the perfect shirt length is the one that lines up with your wrists either half and inch above it or below it.
