Came here from Google. I'm 5ft 7 and slim to muscular. My t shirts look a million times better tucked into chinos then out. I have short legs so this balances my look and looks smart. Also makes my shoulders look broader. Dress for your body shape. And do what makes YOU feel better
Agree with everything here :) i don't like the half-tuck on me though. It looks good on Dorian but somehow when i do it it doesn't really look that good so i just go all the way tucked or untucked.
I really miss how Ashley used to show different outfits on different models and showed the designer options as well as the budget frienxly options and the links on where to find the items. That is why I started following Ashley. It was like getting a private consultation with a stylist.
I always tuck my T-shirt in. I think you should tuck in your T-shirt so you don't look sloppy. Half tucks don't look the nicest. Always wear a belt when you tuck your shirt in.
When I saw the title I thought “Haven’t I seen this already?” But it was another entertaining and informative video on a similar subject. Thanks guys. Enjoy the light attitude to the videos.
Loosely Tucking your shirt in actually makes you look slightly thinner. If your shirt's untucked then it just hangs (showing a gap between between the end of the shirt and your pants) and shows stretching if you're overweight. For me, I definitely look slimmer when my shirt's tucked in versus untucked where it makes you stomach look a lot larger.
What happens if your a bodybuilder and you have wide shoulders, big chest slim waist my polos tend to fit nice on my top but, hang by my waist because I have a flat stomach. Should I tuck in my polo shirt ????
Serious question off topic. Those pants look two sizes too small on you. They look extremely uncomfortable. Can you sit down? I just can't bring myself to wear pants that are so short and tiny. I am an average sized guy, 5'9" about 195lbs.
What if you have a small waist and larger thighs? It’s really hard to find pants that fit both simultaneously without feelings like you’re putting it all on display. I also have decently wide should so shirts tend to bunch up when tucked and I end up looking very sloppy compared to my casual out of office looks.
I think I have kind of a short torso despite being pretty average height (5’8). Does it still look good to tuck my dress shirts if it shortens me a bit? I should note I typically wear slightly casual plain coloured dress shirts from companies like Frank and Oak or Banana Republic. And I’m in fairly good shape for 44yo (32’ waist).
Tucking in has too many upsides to depend mainly on formality. Id argue it makes more sense to decide based om wether or not tucking in is practical with a given piece of clothing
Completely disagree with polos. Polos were meant and designed to be tucked in, especially if the back is longer than the front. In this case, it looks absolutely ridiculous to unstuck a polo. I think polos paired with chinos are more appropriate...polos are more casual and look absolutely silly paired with formal dress pants.
I usually wear an undershirt. It’s usually a full tuck when worn with other shirts. Half tuck or no tuck when the undershirt is worn alone. Is this already?
Never tuck in a t shirt. A polo sometimes depending on what been worn with or the setting. Dress shirt tuck in except if you want to dress the shirt down a little.
For dress shirts, that should be “fully tucked”; do you still need to let it out a little, like you do when wearing a fully tucked button-down? (By raising your arms as seen by Dorian in the video)
Depends on the look. With a high waist pair of pants, it can look cleaner to keep it flat in. It also depends on the shape of the shirt, a slim fit is better tucked in tight, where a loose fit may be pulled out a little.
This video was weird. Most time was spend on T-shirts and polo's. The only place polo's should be tucked in are 1) a golf bag, or 2) the clothing recycle container. When tucking or not becomes interesting, is with button down shirts, you do away with that subject in under a minute. And with button down it is depending on waist height and hem shape. Straight hem is good for untucked, round hem for tucked in. None of them got mentioned. Last grief: half tucking is the lamest I've come across. Don't suggest that. It looks even worse than polo's.
There is nothing wrong with leaving a dress shirt untucked however long they are. I do it all the time and I love to see it on other guys. In the UK Many fashion magazines and catalogs are full of guys wearing dress shirts untucked some even wearing a tie or fully buttoned. I think it looks cool, trendy and sexy
Yeah me too with flannel or Oxford shirts, Tees stay untucked and polo's are for golf so also tucked but that's more to do with dress code. As for short sleeved shirts....... IMO they are a 'no go'.... Just roll up your long sleeved shirt.
What if your t-shirt is too long? Half tuck doesn’t look good. It’s like having a tail. Can you just imagine a 50 yr old man doing a half tuck? It looks lousy.
@@eyeheartsushi2212 Being 5'9 with an athletic built doesn't help! While Dorian must have a hard time finding longer shirts, I struggle to find shirts that are on the shorter side. I definitely think my shirts look good, but if they were just a bad shorter they would be perfect. When I think they are too long I just get them hemmed.
In my opinion your pants are too short, they look 'I'm trying hard to look trendy'. Take them down to just touching or just above your shoes. Will look far better for your age ;)
The problem with this is that you are showing dudes who are morbidly obese lol...not guys with a small belly. If you wear the correct size top, and you aren’t obese, you’ll look fine tucking your tops in.
FuriousNat Idk where you are at in the US, but most people my age around me do not look like that lol. I’m in my early twenties tho. Hell, even a lot of the older people Ik in their 40s+ don’t look like this. Furthermore, I’d argue most people that do look like that don’t care about what they are wearing for the most part.
Total non sense. I have a well proportional muscular body and no big tummy, and I don't hide it with shirt hanging out. I always wore my polo or any shirt tucked in. No one in my professional work place left shirt untucked either. I also never wore any color T-Shirts and never outside To me all T-Shirts are under garment. Men left shirts untucked looked totally disgusting. I never agreed with any woman's opinion, especially young woman, on men's fashion.

True fans remember when ashly used to make videos alone ☺️
With very very blonde hair
And very, very, very long shooting days haha!
Back after a year, whoa the guy is still hanging around, allright will browse after a year!
Yeah..... When she 'thought' she knew what she was talking about😂
It's Dawson man that’s harsh
I absolutely love fully tucking in my oversized shirts

Same here.
Same.
Half tuck shirts look unsymmetrical.

As one of the guys that was asking about this, esp polo shirts, This video was very very helpful. Thank you so much

Thank you very much for all the suggestions, sometimes for us, older men, fashion is counter intuitive.
I don't tuck my shirt anymore cause back in school we had uniform for 12 years (+2 pre school). So yeah, I really hate tucking in my shirt.
Almost unsubscribe when you said NEVER tuck in t-shirts or polo last video. Thanks god you made it right this video ❤️ you're still the best.
I always rock Tucking T-shirts and Shirts!!

Your single-0 videos go at a entertaining, streamlined pace, but this one's good, too.
Would love to know the brand of jeans shown at 2:00. Great fit!
What about if you wear chinos polo shirt and blazer/sports jacket
Watching this video with wool dress pants and a tucked in shirt. Yesssss lol.

Jonathan Bailey 🤔 is the right emoji, I’m so confused! 😂
What’s with all the hand rubbing?
I think that you just alienated about 75% of North America with your fitness comments. :-) But you're not wrong. :-)
Sorry for the weird question, but can someone please explain the difference between a dress shirt and a long sleeve button up?
Hi, can you share the information that the man wears at 3:05?
What polo and trousers is the guy in the thumbnail wearing?

They look good with heavy and textured wool pants. Not suit pants
Correct
You guys are looking sharp

A true undershirt is not meant to be worn alone.
guys i have a problem, i want to tuck my shirt but my legs are too long for my body, and it looks weird
Where is his grey tshirt from in the beginning of the video
Doesn’t any full tuck become a half tuck after about ten minutes of movement?
Im out of shape. I cant do anything 😂😭.. belly boys getting left out..
I have an impression that I’ve seen such video from you, where you said t-shirts should not be tucked it never. Hmm
For the average guy, it's a never. So you're correct.
What about shorts tshirt linen shirt
Oh man, I love it when you guys take photos of your viewers and say this is not what to do! Lol
Never tuck in a t shirt. A polo sometimes depending on what been worn with or the setting. Dress shirt tuck in except if you want to dress the shirt down a little.

Can you do an episode on turtlenecks?

All my shirts untucked, camp collar linen, Hawaiian, Italian long sleeve linen

Raising the arms is the most you should do when letting it out a little. It especially helps those with a little extra weight in the mid section.

I'm 5'9 and wear a size small, but my t-shirts are not as short as Dorians'. They are about mid crotch. Is that ok?
Mid crotch is the longest you should go untucked so you’re good.

Gentleman ALWAYS tuck in their shirt. If you are lazy or uneducated. Please be may guess.
Thanks for the pointers guys. Eating disorder here I come!
ive never seen a persons nose move so much when they talk. its like her nose is a second mouth.
