I have had SO many requests, both Patreon and otherwise, to react to Shatter Me by Lindsey Stirling featuring Lzzy Hale. Unfortunately, I couldn't do a first time reaction as I have heard it many times, but because I love this song and the message, I wanted to do something special with it anyway, so I brought on Lindsey's sister, Jennifer Stirling, to join me!

Shoot, her desire for her solitude, her desire is actually a form of torture in I think north Korea, it's literally called " white torture" its a sensory deprivation torture, white everything, including white rice on a white paper plate, no speaking either. The visual and audio deprivation is meant to torture a prisoner

So I came to this video on a very crooked path. Lzzy and Lindsey are two of my favorite female artists/performers (the distinction is very important). This is definitely in my top tier of favorite songs and I was surprised when i discovered through the comments of another of your videos that you were doing a reaction to it.
Your collaboration reacting to this epic collaboration was so much more than i expected. Especially minutes after I was literally compelled to leave a comment describing some of the things the two of you discussed in this video. 🤯🤯🤯
    Talk about signs.
I almost feel ashamed to, but two other quotes from another of my favorite artists are required.
"I don't medicare cause it helps me temporarily" and "Save yourself is what I'm telling you.... Because nobody else really has a clue'
Those stood out to me heavily while the two of you were speaking.
Thanks to the both of you for your insight and expenditure.

Based on how Jennifer described cynical depression I can't even imagine how awful it must be. I was depressed but because of my circumstances not because I had a medical condition. Non the less I was prescribed medication not just for depression but for mental illness that I don't believe I had. the medication had side effects about which no one told me about. And I ended up in place where people were friendly and you could go in and out as you pleased (and it was whole lot better than my high school) but it was like having time simply stop without you going anywhere. I know that I'm being over dramatic in comparison to what you guys went through. But to me ships in the harbor analogy applies very well but its more like you have your ships in the harbor and you try to get them to and through the open sea. But getting small boats is not that easy but possible even if every time you risk loosing your cargo. But while you are going through with small ships your large ships with more cargo just sit in the harbor and you are losing money or at least not making much all the same. and if you can't get big ships across the harbor you feel like there is no point of getting the smaller ones across the sea either and you end up doing nothing.
Now if you move enough small boats you can get as much cargo as a large ship even if it takes more time. But some cargo can be carried only by large ships. And if you can't get your most important cargo across you once again feel like there is no point of getting the less valuable cargo across.
and here is the kicker. even if you would mange to somehow find the resources to get your large ships onto the sea. There are pirates and enemy nations who wish to destroy your ships. the small ships can go under the radar but the large ships can't and those are the ones that need to get the more valuable cargo.
you look for the cannon but you simply don't have resources.
and the more you lose the more frustrated you are and you wonder if, if you ever get those cannons (which you would not need in a first place if circumstances were different) will you have enough self control to go only after enemy ships or will be insane by that time and simply destroy everything that you encounter.

My mental health story is kind of similar to the feelings you guys described earlier in the video about wanting to be in a dark or white room, where you're not hurting anybody.
It wasn't just a feeling I had, it was from my experiences with people all through my childhood and teen years. I came to the conclusion after my prom that everything I did was always bad to people and I always got a bad reaction from people whether I was sad, mad or had a crush, something was always wrong but from school to home all anyone wanted of me was to be happy all the time. I hated myself more and more because of how I grew up. It taught me that I wasn't this human being, I was this thing that was a threat to everybody and I wanted to die so much but I could not bring myself to do it for some reason. Part of it was fear of hurting myself. Still, from 2010 to 2015, I was depressed, anxious and suicidal. I was alive but I stopped living. I had no reason to live and no purpose. I questioned every thing I ever said or did because that's all I had ever known. I couldn't even handle hugs or being touched in the rare instances that anyone ever did that or even say "I love you" even if it was only platonic.
I met someone who I thought I was safe with to open up to who encouraged me to talk to a counselor (who is a former friend because long story short, I experienced mental health stigma from them when they called me abnormal and ended our friendship). So in 2016, when I had no one, I spent half the year in recovery and working to undue everything I had ever learned with how I treated myself and I've been a work in progress ever since. I finally went to college and have goals, passions, hobbies and dreams. I graduated, escaped being in debt which I don't take for granted. I'm still working on myself but it's harder now with COVID and feeling burned out more these days. But I like to hope as I'm writing this that I could find a way through this.
And not only has therapy been so good for me, with the right therapist I have a rapport with but I also learned on my own in late 2015 positive self talk. But the way I do it is I focus on a voice not my own but someone else and imagine this positive voice is caring because I always wanted a friend that was always there for me. The first day i learned self talk, it felt like a lot of weight was lifted off my shoulders and I felt the urge to keep going with this positive inner voice

I happen to be in Lindseys community,i watcher her stream of her and her striking dancers rehearse theyr christmas show late last year. Jennifer and Lindsey look very much alike, although Lindsey will by most be described as "the cute one". This song made a bigger impact on me emotionally, after i experienced that the song came to life after Lindsey had suffered from a eating disorder. I was just 14 when i got to talk to/befriend 3 girls who had to be fed through "nose straws"....after our paths separated,we lost all contact. I can only hope..... that they broke out of it and started better lifes. But i do fear the worst,2 of them were in a really critical stage.... So this song is heavy on me,in the good and the bad ways. Lindsey and Lzzy also performed this live for a radio station, that is even more powerful then the video.
Ever since i saw a live performance of Crystallize,Lindsey had me curious. When i saw her in Artemis i completely crushed on her, most probably because she looked like a stunning version of Daenerys Targaryen in Game Of Thrones, she followed up with "Til The Light Goes Out",and in both thoose videos i jawdropped when i saw her warrior dancers. So it was a special moment when i got to see her and all of her dancers livestream theyr rehearsals for the upcoming christmas show.
They are beyond impressive, and drop dead gorgeous every single one. And soo lovable, even her dancers interacts with stream, waves hello while being in Lindseys presence, doing spontaneous silly dances etc for the stream. And its not like Lindsey started streaming because she wanted more money and fame, she tells everyone new how she donates most of her stream donations etc to charity. Makes me wish i grew up with such women around me,so inclusive and not pre-judging at all. Everyone i meet is just all out toxic individuals. And then theres smartasses that say i seek out the toxicity or attract the toxicity. (Yeah, like i want to get hurt over and over..... people say the most ignorant shit, just to be douchebags often)

Sooo ... I have an interesting story about this :)
I'm a big Halestorm fan and even bigger Lindsey Stirling fan (She's a literal hero of mine. Watch Sharon Osborne and Piers Morgan just destroy her on national television and then see her just put herself back together and get back out there.... Bad ass 😊).
One night I decided to pre-order Lindsey's second album but to tide me over until then I bought Halestorm's "ReAnimating the Covers vol. 2" (Lzzy's vocals on "Out Ta Get Me" are AWESOME). Then went to bed. As I drifted off to sleep I thought how awesome a collab of thevtwo would be, and it was a shame they'd prolly never heard of the other ...
Woke up at 3am and couldn't get back to sleep, so I open my phone and go through FB and then my emails. And there it was ...
A email in all caps "SHATTER ME FT LZZY HALE". I thought to myself "Self, wth is this? They get it all mixed up?" 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
This is a FAVORITE song of mine. I get goosebumps on my arms and tears in my eyes everytime Lzzy belts out the "SHAAAAATTEERRR MEEEEE!!" 💘😥💘😥💘😥💘
    😆😊🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

16:55 I've prayed that way at times but I look to the fact that many of God's best servants were bold like that. Jeremiah had times where as I'm reading I find myself saying "Jeremiah how can you talk to God that way?" One of the things I notice in Habakkuk is that prophet is having a bit of a temper tantrum to God, but God has a big shoulder to cry on. When David was king the leading musician of the Gershomite clan of the Levites, Asaph wrote some Psalms many of which are rather strong complaints to God, Psalms 50, 73-83 are all attributed to him.

Sorry guy, you are wrong. With your thinking, Hitler paid his debt in hell on earth. And so now, he gets to be in Heaven?? Are you brainless? And Jesus was born and lived on earth. Why would God The Father send His Only Son to hell? Read The Bible. Don't pretend to read The Bible. Also guy, I know what I'm talking about. Yahweh gave Lindsey Stirling to me. Thank God! 😂
Over 7 years ago, The Lord Jesus blessed me even beyond my belief. 1) HE totally and completely took away some personal issues/problems. 2) HE severely increased my intelligence. I was so stupid growing up. Let me misquote from Dr. Who. “Close your eyes and picture the stupidest thing in the whole universe. Can you picture it? Good. Now forget it because he’s typing this post now.” 3) HE gave me my One and Only Lifelong Dream. I can now honestly say that I’m the happiest guy in the whole universe. And because of these three - I will always thank and love The Lord!
#3 above is the focal point. What if Yahweh called me to do something? Would I not have certain insights from God? Would I not have some insider information? God messed up my whole life so I could be at the right place at the right time to help a very special woman - *Lindsey Stirling.* God wanted Lindsey to be a Christian. AND He wanted me to save her life. And after I did, she and I fell in love. And I have been with her ever since. Thank God! 😂
And Yes, I can prove all this. But the details are even more unbelievable.
