Thanks for your professionalism, enthusiasm and great tips...from UK!
Thanks for watching!
So I started doing roofing sales about a month ago and I’ve been watching your videos a lot over the last few weeks. This is one of the best/ most informative ones (for me) so far. Thanks!
A game of chess with conversation. Adams Showing us how to win everytime in a honest and genuine way.. we appreciate you here in Florida !
Cameron, SUPER appreciate the kind words and feedback 🙏. Sometimes we need to just slow down and explain things in a new angle. PS - as winter sets in here, I sometimes wish I was in FL!
There's been so many times I've spotted damage (even pieces of broken stuff on the ground) walking right up ro the door as soon as they say that, I just point it out and go feom there. Some people REALLY think because it's not raining on the inside that "their roof is fine"... Until you talk to them.
I knock exclusively for storm damage I've handed them broken shingles and some of them still see no problem with it.
You are so very right! I experienced the same thing and I keep hearing this over and over again. I hope this video gave you some new approaches to help :)
@@lukemckay8 Like when you walk up to the door holding 3 shingles and they say they're fine 🤣
I lived in aurora for 12 yrs!
I just started a roofing sales position. I have been consuming your stuff. It’s great stuff man. I’m here in Louisville, KY
Welcome to the industry and the Channel, Austin! Glad to have you here. Comment on any video, I read and reply to them all. If you're new in roofing sales, here's a playlist for you :) ruclips.net/p/PLZ20p_mXvgkWwKmPlotIml7-DbrhbbH8b
Are you still in roofing? I'm starting this week.
It's always crickets for these types of comments. I just started 2 weeks ago and am think the turnover rate is extremely high.
@zwilkinson2 lol the turn over rate is high for every single sales job on the planet

Awesome sales advice.
Glad it was helpful!
So many insurance chasers make customers skepticle of anything. Its still a big out of pocket expense even with insurance. I had one say I need a roof replacement and another say its completely fine.
Its a maddening process because insurance is involved and will f you over if you do or don't get work done after a claim.
Thanks Adam
You got it Avi!!
Great work man
🙏 appreciate ya man
Thanks man for what you do
🙏 Thank you for being here, commenting, and supporting. This entire channel is about YOU and doing everything I can to provide ACTIONABLE advice that you can use in the field --- why? To help you smash your income goal of course :) Thanks again!
Biggest one for me is oh you are from out of town and not local, and I say, yeah but we all shop at Amazon and Home Depot, etc. if this was such a big deal, then you wouldn’t shop at these stores
Hey Luke, Thanks for the comment. Have you watched this video yet? ruclips.net/video/qgLUU0T9Bh0/видео.html (Sounds like you may have). Start there if not. If you have, remember this --- not everyone is our customer. We can do our very best to...
1) Explain that all local companies will be over run with work and too busy to get to everyone
2) That your company serves the entire state (or US) -- this is all positioning.
3) Use analogies about ordering online
But if they simply are stuck in their mind about going "local," spend your energy elsewhere.
Also, it's important to note that they MEAN when they say they want to go local. It's because they don't TRUST you. They are concerned they won't be taken care of with the same level of attention since you may be "in and out" -- and they want to make sure they have someone to call for any warranty stuff that may arise. Speak to these core issues and it will help a TON!
Adam, what if you extrapolate all this to the home owner, and the claim still gets denied. When there is clearly damage and missing shingles. Homeowners think contractors are thieves, but little do they know, they're getting ROBBED by insurance.
Soo quick question is it me or most homeowners won’t even open their doors 😅 when someone knocks
Loll I look out the window and if I don’t recognize the vehicle I go back to what I was doing
Here's a question, if I keep getting multiple "no's" to the inspection. How long do I keep trying before I call it a day? I'll explain and provide insight and value and people will still manage to say no, regardless of what I try. But some people will be easier to deal with. How realistic is it to help everyone that opens?
Great question. I just did a short response video to this that you'll see on social media coming soon. In a nutshell, in sales we hear NO far more than YES. In fact, you may have your best sales day EVER followed by a goose egg (0). Our mission is to stay persistent and work the multi-touch marketing system. I'd suggest watching this video to help you turn NOs into YESs ;) ruclips.net/video/QbMzbFc2RDA/видео.html
Good stuff Adam. After you ask "May I give you some perspective..." and they say something like "Oh I checked it myself" or "It's fine" again, isn't that a nice way of them saying not interested? Thoughts?
My thoughts is that this is an OUTSTANDING question that just inspired Thursdays' video :) So stay tuned for an answer! There's a few things you can do to handle this one. THANK YOU for the comment my man. Truly great question!
@@TheRoofStrategist Let me guess, it is going to be something like - Acknowledge that their roof may be fine but then Reassure that wouldn't it be nice to have the piece of mind that two different people have confirmed the condition of the roof. You have nothing to lose but just a few minutes of your time of me showing you pictures if there is any damage. Do you have any objection if I hop up on the roof and look it over?
@@jeffskio Well that would be a mighty great way to handle it :) But in the video I'll be doing (thanks to you) I'll be sharing some specific examples that I've faced, how to use a "challenge" in an appropriate way to give them control, and a reminder of the potential consequences if they fail to address this now.
Soo I have this homeowner said they will call me but I know they won’t so how do i respond back to them at the door
What about the time of loss, do you have to provide it to the insurance?
Great question. Typically YES. The insurance will ask for the date of loss (when the storm was). Use the most recent one and be sure to file it for "storm damage" and NOT specifically hail or wind. Every now and again an insurance company may try to stick you with 2 deductibles for different type of losses.
@@TheRoofStrategist thank you!
@@gonzalogonzalez7335 Happy to help my man!
How you deal with with renters?
Watch ruclips.net/video/FQokd_QKBOA/видео.html
When you said homeowner will pay more in the future for a roof don’t would they said it’s ok insurance will cover it?
How do they know insurance will cover it? Do they have a crystal magic ball letting them know that their roof will be damaged and the insurance will cover it - guaranteed? There are VERY few areas in the US that someone could make that claim.
Sooo I have same problem this guy have like 5 missing shingles on his roof and he was like stop knocking on my door I don’t need a new roof is fine 😅 but I just said sorry and left so now I know what to said next time but some homeowners don’t even want listen to you lol
Agree - some don't even want to listen. It's sales. You will strike out, get beat up, and get rejected over and over again.
There's more to sales than just what we say - it's HOW we say it (tone, body language, etc.). You may like this video on using non-verbals too: ruclips.net/video/DagjmBuUwkc/видео.html
I’m just starting out and I’m always looking for older roofs that I think would have a greater chance for damage, I’m a very personable person and love talking to people in general but can’t be phony or salesy. I was on a roof the other day and the lady had extensive damage and I could see clean spots on the neighbors roof from hail. I thought this would be an easy sale and he wasn’t hearing it and said I don’t have the money anyway. It totally got in my head and made me feel defeated, I’m not a salesman in any way but I need to learn some things that will help
Look for 3 tab shingle roofs
