This Tutorial is good because you go straight to the point instead of talking to much, like most people do! Good work!
WOW, if I heard that tune you did in a club I'd boogie my bootie to it. And you showed us how you did it. Thanks, youre really talented. Great catchy tune.
That’s actually amazing!

so nice! thank you ...
You are welcome my friend :-) Glad you found it useful!
Hey what a great video. I really like the straight to the point approach. I learned a good bit from all your videos. After this video, i just wanted to ask if you can do a follow up to this video. I too end up with good ideas like 16 -32 bars, but then get stuck with that and have trouble arranging and laying it out. Can really use some of your good ideas into extending a good idea like how you started in this video. Thanks for all your videos!
You made a totally new program for arrangement ..... awesome!!
Thanks man! Glad you enjoy it!
I'm really glad of it ...
But i hope also u can help me to find the links for free Cubase & Groove Agent
If u can't, never mind about it ..
What did you press to make the audio get sliced up on the hit points? You just did it without explaining.
+Stevie Rage you can go in and click with ctrl held down go to hit points and then divide audio events at hitpoints
Toby Preston why wouldn't u explain that inthe video? it's a great tutorial but that was annoying af.
Toby Preston fs man you missed explaining the most important bit: chopping them up. Dughhh
very nice!
Thanks!
thanks for this. I believe I am going to make a switch to Cubase 8 as I really dig a lot of the new features, but the lack of a native sampler kind of had me doubting it. It looks like I can get by with 90% of what I would use a sampler for with groove agent and padshop.
USEFUL GOODIES!!! THANX!!!
Cool! Glad to hear that :-)
sweet !
wonderful
Nice
Awesome...
Thanks Kumar ;)
Good tutorial. Thank you!
Thank you man!
thank you.
in an audio track cubase make the hitpoints automatically?and then you only have to trail it into the groove agent? anyway, great video!
Thanks
i like it
Danke!
Bitte :)
hey man I love it the way than you made the mix!!!.... jejejeje Blessed
Thanks so much Marvin! :-)
Tanks to you !!!!!
by the way ...I expect meet you one day.
You are great!... take care
Marvin Portillo Mendoza Hi Marvin, thanks for the love!
Very useful tutorial! It seems that even basic tools in Cubase such as Groove agent are pretty powerful.
ASMR synth I wouldn't say that groove agent 4 se is basic.
wow!
nice.....
great
Hi doctor mix how to slice chop the audio to drag the parts into groove agent se?please help!
You double clicked on the audio loop and I saw it in parts then you said lets chop it up now, did you somehow hit a hotkey there? I didnt see how you chopped it up? I know there is a command inside the box called create slices, but I didnt see you hit that ? also what if you don't have a midi controller, I will definitely get one but in the meantime what can I use instead?
+Greg Jay We actually assigned a key command for "Create Audio Slices from Hitpoints" in the Key Command menu. :) You can actually use your computer keyboard to input the notes if you press alt+k. Hope this helps.
Are all the sounds like (on the demo) in Cubase 7.5 because I am thinking of buying Cubase 8 Artist, which should I buy???
People want everything for nothing in this world today!! ....this is obviously a taster and if you want more you should pay the guy. Great video I love his enthusiasm👍
Can you make one video explaining how to make a chillstep in cubase?
very nice! but it would be even nicer to listen the whole thing together at the end...
Is there another way to open audio editor?
For the Midi Recordings did you quantize afterwards or is there an option to quantize while recording?
+Herr Fröhlich,
No, for this specific example we used the Auto-Quantize feature in Cubase which you can access on the transport bar- Check bottom left corner of the transport panel ;)
Thanks!
how did you chop it up at 1:40 ? btw, very nice video, very inspiring!
i asked me the same
We actually assigned a key command for "Create Audio Slices from Hitpoints" in the Key Command menu. :)
thanks i got it, i really need cubase 8.5, just have the 7 Elements :/
Cubase 8.5 is a great update, even from 8. It adds some really neat workflow improvements that we couldn't live without.
how do I Manually create the slices of an imported mp3 file to the groove agent. I can set for transient or grid... but manual I can't figure out how to make a slice point,.. thanks
sonofnothing Select the clip you want, go to the Audio tab, somewhere there should be an option to generate hitpoints.
I love house. I use to DJ. I play this kind of music in my videos. I would love to get back into mixing. How much does this program cost?
I know it's probably personal preference, but which is better, Pro Tools or Cubase? Thanks!
do all the other elements come with this version of cubabse or are they different programmes? i.e the element you used to create the base sound etc... is Cubase just for laying out samples and components or is it everything you have shown us in this video, in other words if I bought Cubase 7.5 I would be able to do exactly what you have done here without buying other software?
Everything we use in the video is included in Cubase 7.5 except for the Neo Soul Keys instrument that you can get separately. And yes! The bass sound comes from Retrologue that's included with Cubase 7.5 :)
What did you press to make the audio get sliced up on the hit points?
+SomberSquirrel It's hard to give shortcuts with Cubase, because they're customisable. But if you double click on the audio file, under the hitpoints tab, there should be a button that says create slices. Hope this helps! :)
8 years! Where did this time go?
Wow, I know this is old and basic, but I am just about to be able to download Steinberg's cubase pro, having bought the dongle and software, but in process expanding HDD also making primary drive an SSD. Your tutorial I feel just taught me a whole lot, I'd not even heard of Groove ESS-SEA (no, I love the accent), and now I know it exists, that I feel is progress. Don't laugh - the last time I used Cubase, it was on an Atari ST. Don't recall the version number, but as I write, Cubase Pro is on 9.5...
Funny - ipads are only just about there, where that tech was back when, for audio IMHO. Sure, the apps can do all sorts - but the processing power is challenged, and I recall I paid £220 or so for the Atari - in 1988 - but now the equal would be an ipad Pro or Pro 2. 1200 smackers. In real terms, it is not a million miles away but I think it feels about 50% more expensive up to double (going by how many mortgage payments it is equivalent to compared to back then with the ST). It's the VST's that do it - the Atari just ran the sequencing back then, triggering the hardware instruments, that I'd used to feed in a few bars in the first place.
But the PC needed upgraded anyway, so for now it wins. SSD ought to give the boost it needs - anyone else feel the slowdown due to a necessary update to guard against an alleged virus, has come just in time to help make PCs that were lasting quite well, suddenly slow? Feels like a helpful situation for them to sell newer PCs. I got Cubasis for the ipad, and was headed for a Pro 2, but I can make the PC 2TB of solid-state SSD, have the old disk as another two TB (!) and extend the life of my 5-year old Lenovo for another while. Apple ipads, with fixed everything at POS, no chance. Plus, I now realise 3 months after I bought my old ipad 4, they slipped out a version with twice the memory. Apple have made themselves hard, hard, work for customers.
Thanks again, it's a good positive intro for me.
n i c e one! ........interesting
Thank you man!
;) ok....
What is the size of cubase 7.5
Can u give me a link to Download THis APP ??
Great tutorial. Love it. Say, for instance you did a session in cubase and u wanted to put the song on the radio. How do u censor the session. O would highly appreciate it if u did a tutorial. Thnx
Hey PerfectPitch01! Thanks for the question. I'm not sure what you mean though... censor the session? This is material that we composed and recorded so we don't need permission to use it :-) No censorship needed!
No problem. :-) but what i meant to say was to clean it up and take all of the cusswords out of the song.
PerfectPitch01 oh I see! I think the trend right now is just to mute the words in question. I hear that a lot lately. For example Will-I-Am & Britney Spears... the original track has the B word all around it, but the radio friendly version has that word muted. I think it's better than using a beep! That would really disrupt the listening experience. But you can still publish the full version, as long as you mark it as "Explicit" on iTunes. Hope this helps!
when you say 'lets chop it up now' what key do you press? you didn't really explain how at 01:39
s
Hi, I'm using cubase (elements) 8 and I used to be able to add vst instruments , but now I can't anymore and I've been looking anywhere to find some instructions but it's kinda impossible. Do i need some update or another plug in or is a syntheziser a better option? please help me bc I wanna mix my selfmade songs and I want more than just a piano and a guitar
+Sanne.Luykx Hey, I'm using Elements 8 and it works perfectly w/me... Press F11 and you'll get the "VST pannel", then you add one clicking on the "+" button.
Eventually you choose between what you have and Cubase asks you if you want a MIDI track associated w/ your VST. Click "yes" and here you go !
+Kurtz&Oswald thanks! i will try it out
i never have a cubase before .... i wanna get the latest version of it..... so is there any license or old versions is needed?
Hi Jeffrey,
Nope, you just need a new Cubase copy and you're good to go :)
Wow..... your hands really quantizized
Quick question; Which shortcut keys did you use to get the "Locater Bar" cover the next 8 bars automatically? Great tutorial btw, very informative!
Hi Kjed,
You just select your events that you want to loop and hit the letter "P" on your keyboard :)
Thank you very much for your response, shortcuts like these save a lot of time while producing. Again, a very informative tutorial, it really helps in getting the hang of Cubase.
Kjeld van der Heijden Our pleasure :-)
posso fazer esso em qual que cubase
Can u give me a video for how I make trap in cubase( for beginner)?
