sir, I have to wear an all black suit with black dress shirt and black dress shoes... any advice on how stick out a lil bit? I work in a nightclub environment
Great tip. As a Marine I brought this tip with me first to law enforcement and then to civilian life - I get grief from my buddies but my shirts look great. The houndstooth and classic black versions look great.
Shirt stays are the way to go. A couple months ago I purchased three pair from KK and Jay. My preference is the type that attaches to the socks. My last flight from Ft. lauderdale to Manila, Philippines I wore a pair of these shirt stays. From house to house it took about 27 hours. My shirt stayed properly tucked the whole time. As always, great tips. Thanks for sharing.
As a student that wears shirts all the time (which always get mushroomy after 10 minutes, yes I'm that guy) and I'd absolutely love to recieve the "HOUNDSTOOTH TAN" or the "FREETOWN CRIMSON" version, both look so good to be honest! Great stuff Antonio :)
I've been using the undershirt tuck for years and I can confirm its usefulness in an active busy workplace where it's easy for your shirt to become untucked. Great video as always!
Antonio, earlier this year I took your advice from an earlier video and purchased a KK & Jay shirt stay, and it's been one of the very best, affordable improvements to my wardrobe and daily routine. It's just as you said: It instills confidence that I'm looking composed and not disheveled, all without the bother of constantly tucking and rearranging excess shirt fabric. Highly recommended. I'll definitely be in the market for a sockless KK & Jay shirt stay as I'm relocating to Los Angeles and plan on incorporating the sockless look where appropriate. As I'm fair complected, it may be difficult for me to pull it off, but we'll see. At least I won't have to worry about my shirt becoming untucked! Thanks again!
I have to say...I'm a fan of the black sockless shirttail garter! I began using shirt stays when you brought them up in a video a year or so ago and have been grateful ever since! I swear by them and share the love! Thanks for all of your wonderful insights. Keep 'em coming!
Got my shirts stays about 3 weeks ago and it was a terrific decision, I cant recommend it more. I never noticed how much I dealt with tucking on daily basis.
Hi! I am 16 years old and really into dress shirts. I recently started to wear them, but since I just started to refresh my wardrobe with casual dress shirts they come untucked very often, so I am really looking forward for those tucking lenses. I love almost every design except Elsmere. My favourite is Freetown and i am probably going to get it. Thanks for telling me about them!
Antonio, as an LEO, I've used shirt stays and those tuck belts for years. I like the HOUNDSTOOTH NAVY/COBALT from KK&J! Love your videos! Thanks for what you do.
Free town blue/red looks fantastic and seems like a versatile choice. Thanks for everything you're doing, you're the biggest boon I have to my fashion game!
I like the Houndstooth. Being a law enforcement officer I wear shirt stays all the time. Its just a requirement because perception is 90% of our job right now. The typical shirt stays we get from the uniform place are pretty cheap and thin but the KK and Jay look sturdy and also a classic look that would blend in well with the navy uniform we wear. Thank you.
Great advice! As soon as you introduced me to shirt garters some time ago, I purchased them straight away. A great thing to have in your everyday life! Most people will not notice that your shirt is flawlessly tucked in, but you definitely feel a lot more comfortable with your appearance. The only flaw that my shirt garters have is they tend to pull the individual hairs on my leg (closer to where they are attached to the sock). But I found my way around it. Anyway, it's a great accessory. A definite must-have!
A bit off topic, but I also really appreciate you taking the time to reply to comments below your videos. There's definitely a sense of connection between you and the audience. I'm very glad to be a part of the community that you've created. Well done, Antonio!
I like the look of the Freetown crimson design. The pattern really looks nice, and the ability to attach it to the socks would be amazing. I live in New Zealand, which would make sending things.... difficult, but I really admire the thoughtfulness of the product and love all of these video's
Freetown Blue/Red is a gorgeous design! Thank you for giving up your to help other men. I definitely feel like I've grown as a person after applying what I learned in your videos.
I have always used the safety pin method when I was in the military; but I have had the safety pins come undone and stick me more than once, so I stopped. Now that I am job hunting, I have been subscribed to your channel to gain a few tips for looking my best during my interviews. I would like to try the shirt stays out, but I do not have a color preference as they are not seen. Thank you for your videos. They are greatly appreciated.
You missed a shirt stay that has “staying power”. It strongly attaches to shirt and the weight of the pants pull the shirt down. It basically locks the pants and shirt as a single unit. You can use the 4 that are in the package or go with more or less depending how much holding power you need. Give them a go,NO STRAPS DOWN LEGS! GesK® Pants Up America
This is so helpful for me! I am 6'5 and my shirt comes untucked all of the time. I am a teacher so I am in front of my students all day long and I want to keep my look professional in front of them. I plan on using this basically everyday so I think the solid black shirttail garter would be great for me but i would be willing to try out any color or style. Thanks Antonio!
I actually had a real big issue with my shirt that just didn't want to stay in my pants. But my solution was pretty simple; I found the right fit for me and now go with with body fit instead of slim fit. Now the shirts fit me extremely well and there is simple not enough material for the shirt to come out of my pants so my shirt stays tucked in all day long. Only the backside of my shirt sometimes starts coming up, but it's really not that much of a problem anymore!
I use a pair of $5 shirt stays that I buy from the Navy Exchange. I've used them for almost 6 years whenever wearing my service uniform. Every other method doesn't seem to work for me except for the higher arm holes but like you said, harder to find the right shirts with the right height. Great video!
This video is great. I have been suffering for a while because I am sick of always having to tuck my shirt in whenever I get up from a chair. I checked out the website and I'm definitely a customer. I think the one I like the best is the Elsmere Red.
Very useful video Antonio. After looking at the styles on the KK & Jay website and I am pulled towards the Ashford Navy/Cobalt shirt stay. m 16 and am starting to use dress shirts and suits much more - for weddings, interviews, special events and more. I think this shirt stay would be very helpful and make me look and feel much much better!
Antonio, you just changed my world, since I first heard of shirt stays on your channel I've started to wear them, but the problem is that i really like the no sock look, now my life is going to be better
I was on leave and missed your videos. I love these small etiquette tips that are highly appreciated. Most people don't appreciate these tips, but being in a tough business environment, every little detail makes a difference. Keep up the great work. 👍😎
The shirt stays are very reasonably priced! For us on a small tight budget. I am a fan of the ELSMERE GREEN in the sock less option & ASHFORD BLACK/GREY as a regular shirt stay. Thanks for the Tips the military tuck works great whenever I use it.
I really needed this video because i did find myself tucking in my shirt multiple times a day because i always sit up and sit down from my chair. I really like the freetown crimson. I wasn't even aware of the existence of shirt stays until this video.
best money spent. I was one if those guys. I even went to Brooklyn and told them about your video. they even sent me extra clips for free. they also look great.
Hi Antonio! Thanks for a great Video! About to start my first fulltime job in september as an auditor and could really use some shirt stays. I really like the Houndstooth Navy/cobalt stays. Thanks again!
I'd love to try a pair of those sock less shirt stays. I have the regular ones and you're right - best thing ever! I need a pair to wear when I'm not wearing socks!
I am a pilot so I am sitting down and standing up all day. Followed your tips and it has definitely made my uniform look/feel better all day long! Thank you! I could definitely go for the ashford black/grey :)
I've never found the military tuck does that well for me. What's worked best is getting all my shirts either darted or taken in at the sides so they're well-fitting. High-rise pants also help, I find, since they move with your torso better when bending or sitting. Thanks for the video, and I'd love to get the solid black or solid navy shirt stay if you're giving it away.
Jackson Dot Grey/White. Good advice. I began having my shirts taken-in at the sides (and raise the armholes too) a few months ago by a local seamstress. Makes a huge difference. Drop off one shirt at a time. Will eventually get them all done.
Tip No. 5, is great, can not remember that you mentioned this earlier, only on suit jackets for better flexibility, but this I experienced often on flights when I turn on the air or the light in the ceiling, then the shirt go out of the trousers, since the shirtsleeves at some of the shirt is sewn farther down, annoying at the moment, but do not think anything more about it afterwards.
Thanks for the suggestion. I never used them during my past job, but was always curious about them. I'll have to get a set. I'm a fan of the solid black, the Washington navy and the Elsmere green.
Just recently found your channel and have been enjoying your videos. Thanks for the tips in this video. I've never used a shirt stay before but have been using the military shirt tuck for the past 38 years. Definitely will have to give the stays a try.
The ones I got a few years ago on your advice from Sharp & Dapper are holding up just fine ... the sockless KK and Jay would make a nice complement, but are backordered. Cheers, -Craig.
The houndstooth tan or Freetown Crimson would be fantastic. They suit my more earthy tones, and I'm glad I found these cause as a kid in high school, I'm can't always get my clothing tailored, especially as a tall thin fellow. So thank you for the tips!
The new design is awesome. Don't need to worry about whether or not you're gong to be wearing socks. Definitely the way I would go for an interchangeable wardrobe.
I bought sharp and dapper shirt stays on your recommendation a year ago and I like them. I would love to try the style from KK & Jay that go around the calf.
I would like any shirt garder because I don't have one and I really need to keep those shirts tucked in. I appreciate the advise on men style and clothing. I'm learning with you. Thank you!
So that's how you do it! I will definitely try this. If you are giving any away, I would be happy to receive one. I don't have a color preference. Thanks for the advice.
Poor college student here. It would be great to get a shirt stay for some upcoming job interviews. I really like the Ashford designs in black or navy! Great videos, thanks for all the advice.
The shirt stays look amazing. I just started a Vet operated nonprofit org called Drive for Life, Synd. and got slammed with meetings right off the bat. I'm just starting out getting into the suit or business casual wear, and I've had the continuous issue of needing to re-tuck my shirt. Thank you for the video. I'll get around to ordering some of the shirt stays when I save up enough. Have a good day Sir.
Hey Antonio, I've already done the work into looking for a shirt-stay that holds your shirt down regardless of the user's lifestyle/ activity and before I saw your video I found that on Amazon a company called "Hold'em Premium shirt stays" was by far the best. When looking at the competitors they would offer "strong" or "durable" or perhaps something around the lines of "won't fall off" but the main issue I consistently saw in the comments was that since they were cheaply made and designed, they practically tore several holes in the users shirt as a means of staying on. Hold'em and this new brand don't seem to have the same issue but it's most definitely something noteworthy. Also, in the Hold'em's reviews section I found that the absolute only issue a handful of costumers found was that it simply wouldn't fit because of their height, both taller and smaller. I saw that the KK and Jay shirt stays have an adjustable buckle on them but I worry that for men of certain heights this may be an issue. Just something worthy of note but in comparison to all others I've seen this brand definitely meets all other expectations but even gets additional points for being stylish, something none others I've found have even bothered addressing. Oh, and my personal favorite color of the brand is the Ashford black/gray but the Elsmere Red has such an incandesce about it.
Just tonight, I had to tuck my shirt in 5 or 6 times (ughhh) and thought of shirt stays, which you talked about already. I'll check KK & Jay and other retailers here in France, thanks for the tips !
Hey, Antonio I really enjoyed your video and it was really informative; good job. And I also want to add one method to keep your shirt tucked in and that is to have these rubber strips in your pants. Some of my pants have those rubber strips at the other side where the belt is and I realized that it really helps.
God damn, I hate low arm holes. I cant even comprehend how low some manufacturers make them - raise both arms and most of your shirt goes up. Do they even wear them? ;) I knew military tuck before (also from one of your earlier videos) and it helped me on occasion! Shirt garters seem rather uncomfortable, especially that I dont like my socks worn so high.
Freetown Crimson is definitely my style of shirt stays; the design is simple, elegant, and has nice colors. I have a slim and tall figure so there's a lot of excess fabric around my mid-section. I'm sure the shirt stays will help keep my shirt looking nice and most importantly tucked in. Thanks for the tips Antonio!
I started using shirt stays when you did a video on them in the past. They work great. I'm experimenting with the Y style w/clips and also the Y style with stirrups and trying to figure out what I like more. As for KK&J I really like the Houndstooth brown and Freetown Crimson! Thanks for another helpful video Antonio!
I've been using the military tuck for quite some time now; since a video you did a while back. If you happen to have any extra shirt garters, I would be more than happy to try some out! - Thanks for for the video. I can always use shirt tucking tips.
I'm 14 I have wanted one of the Shirt Stays for almost 2-3 years and it's an amazing thing but where ever I look they cost up to $80!!! I have never found one that is cheap and if I have they are always low quality and break easily I am so happy that KKandJ make them they are a good price and can't wait to get one.
Hello, great video I have been having the problem with my shirt coming out when I bend to pickup something on the floor. Now I know what to use, I have never used this product, if you have any extra Maroon or Navy Silk that would be great, or you have any Ashford to spare that would be great.
The new shirt stay they released is soooo cool! I live in Australia where 90 percent of the days people wear no show socks. I love dressing sharp and need to interact with a lot of people in different areas. I actually wished for something that hug the calf rather than connecting with the socks the first time I am aware of shirt stays. Great recommendation Antonio! thinking about buying one right now.
I've been using those KK&JAY garters for over a year now. There really excellent, the only downside to me is I feel like a (rich, not cheap) bimbo when I don't have trousers on. And yes they do stay on even if you raise your arms up so high over your head or jump up and down all day long. I would recommend them.
I have a bit of a gut and your video on that was a real godsend, but when I have to wear my shirt tucked in, I wear one of the brands that makes them larger. I've noticed that, just like shoes, one company's L is another company's XL. I try to get the shirts that are a little bit larger (and longer) so I have the extra fabric that I need for it to move and flex enough to not come untucked due to my gut and keep it less pronounced. Hope this helps.
There's four kinds of shirt stays: Y-style that attaches two to front and back of shirt tail and other end to sock (that you showed); garter style that wraps around calf (which you also showed); the stirrup that is like the first two but fits around your foot instead of calf or socks; and finally four single stays (two on each side) where there are equal number of clips on the shirt tail and sock (unlike the Y-style where there's only one on each sock).
Antonio, I actually purchased some shirt stays a few years ago after learning about them through your style system class. They work wonders! I will say the ones I have from Sharp & Dapper aren't the Y design, and their not the most comfortable things ever. I'd love to try a pair with the Y design.
I think the calf shirt stays would be best for me. I am in the Army and love shirt stays but have never had the chance to try the calf design! awesome video
Hi, Could you make video for us of over calf socks choices?? Because I found it might be difficult to find the best the over calf socks for formal attire:) Thanks
Great vid! I'd love to take an extra pair of Y-style shirt stays off of your hands! Honestly, all of the patterns that KK & Jay have to offer are great, but the Ashford, Elsmere, and Jackson Dot series are among the better ones. Instead of having the rubber sewn into the waist of the pants, another option is using purpose-made elastic belts with rubber on the outside. These do a decent job of keeping the shirt taught and in place underneath your pants. From what I hear, this option is a bit more comfortable for some gents too. Thanks for the great content!
Thanks for the tips. I'm curious to try these. I am a science teacher and I move around a lot while my students are doing lab work. It is always a constant struggle to keep my shirt tucked in. Thanks for the great info!
Brilliant! I have been using shirt stays for the past 8 months and they are incredible. Thanks for introducing me to them, Sir! The new red colour looks lovely! I'm very interested in them!
I like the simple and classic black sockless shirttail garter would fit my bill. I currently wear the Vanguard footloop shirtstays, but would love to not have it have to go around my foot.
Wow, those things wich keeps the shirt tucked in is something I need to buy, I work in a job where they have this dress code to have the shirt tucked in but find it a struggle since I bend and spend alot of time on my knees.
Hi Antonio. Is it too late to mention which shirt stays we like? I really like the simplicity of KK&Jay's Jackson Dot Grey/White stay, but I'm also drawn to the Elsmere Red strap that you are showing in the video; it seems like the shiny Ferrari of their straps.
Antonio, just found your channel, and wow what a wealth of information! I have always had issues with the "muffin top" effect and the shirttail garter seems like the perfect fix. This brings me to a question, I am on the smaller side of most dress shirts and suits any advice for finding properly fitted clothing for us smaller guys? I find myself wearing more active wear offerings from Patagonia and Arcteryx due to the European cut. I am 5' 7", 130lbs for reference.
i work in the service industry. and like to keep a my uniform tucked in but its almost impossible moving around all day. i would be grateful with any shirt stay. great video!
I'd love a pair of the Freetown Crimson. I've been watching you videos for a while now (although I only recently subscribed) and have slowly been improving my wardrobe. I recently started working in the financial service industry and have been able to attract, keep, and build a relationship with more clients as a result of dressing professionally. It's also doesn't hurt that I've been attracting more suitable and sophisticated girls as a result of dressing sharp. So thank you :)
Hello Antonio, I recently bought a pair of shirt stays from Sharp and dapper that you talked about in video a few years ago and they do wonders. Now I realized that I'm missing something to hold my pants up with, lol. It would be cool if you could send a pair of navy silk suspenders and help a fellow brother out, thanks.
A pair of sockless shirt garters would be ideal for me because I tend to wear loafers with no show socks a lot more often than dress shoes with long socks. Great content as usual Antonio!
Antonio, thanks for another great video! I've been considering buying a pair of these, a friend of mine is a Sheriff and he uses them everyday, and let me tell ya, he is always looking sharp. My favorite style is the Ashford Navy Cobalt. 😀 Thanks for all your videos, keep it up!

I loved The Y style which attaches to the sock. because sometimes "around the calf" thing would be uncomfortable..
The houndstooth tan or Freetown Crimson would be fantastic. They suit my more earthy tones, and I'm glad I found these cause as a kid in high school, I'm can't always get my clothing tailored, especially as a tall thin fellow. So thank you for the tips!
Underware tucked is key... but if I can dedide the blue and dark rombus should be my choise!
The new design is awesome. Don't need to worry about whether or not you're gong to be wearing socks. Definitely the way I would go for an interchangeable wardrobe.

I really feel the struggle of shirt coming untucked! Shirt stays seem like a great idea and I really like the look of KK&JAY's Freetown blue/red.
You really do make exceedingly high-quality content, and very regularly so. Thank you for doing what you do.
So that's how you do it! I will definitely try this. If you are giving any away, I would be happy to receive one. I don't have a color preference. Thanks for the advice.
Woow i have NEVER seen these before... the ones for the calves would be perfect for me since i use no show socks often.. great vid Antonio
ASHFORD NAVY/COBALT looks nice. Always great advise. Am starting to get all my shirts tailored and wow. Shirts stays are the next step.
Poor college student here. It would be great to get a shirt stay for some upcoming job interviews. I really like the Ashford designs in black or navy! Great videos, thanks for all the advice.
The sockless shirt stays seems awesome, i especially like the Washington maroon and the Elsmere green ones!
Whoa, that was a lot longer than I thought it'd be
Just tonight, I had to tuck my shirt in 5 or 6 times (ughhh) and thought of shirt stays, which you talked about already. I'll check KK & Jay and other retailers here in France, thanks for the tips !
Glad it helped. Thanks, Alexis.
doesn't get any better than KK&J for me. Bought it. Tried it. Loved it.
Great to hear!
Hey, Antonio I really enjoyed your video and it was really informative; good job. And I also want to add one method to keep your shirt tucked in and that is to have these rubber strips in your pants. Some of my pants have those rubber strips at the other side where the belt is and I realized that it really helps.
Great video I am 6'3 and have this problem all the time. I just went with wearing an untucked shirt.
You probably get away with it. You could also get the shirt tails tailored.
You should try these garter, I've had them for five years now and they're great stuff. Promise.

Awesome, just sent the email!
Hey Jason, here's my take on it: www.realmenrealstyle.com/mens-dress-shirt-stays/
I've been using the military tuck for quite some time now; since a video you did a while back. If you happen to have any extra shirt garters, I would be more than happy to try some out!
- Thanks for for the video. I can always use shirt tucking tips.
Appreciate it!
Really like the Freetown. Ashford and Houndstooth options are really sharp.
Awesome! Glad to help!
Try it! :)
Awesome!
I think the calf shirt stays would be best for me. I am in the Army and love shirt stays but have never had the chance to try the calf design! awesome video
excellent resource. I wish they offered an all black, but the Freetown crimson is nice too. can't wait to explore the site more.
Hi,
Could you make video for us of over calf socks choices?? Because I found it might be difficult to find the best the over calf socks for formal attire:)
Thanks
These are perfect for you! :)
I'd really dig those shirt stays, houndstooth navy looks nice in regular or Elsmere green in the sockless
I used stays in the Army and now in my professional career. I use them with my custom shirt and the look is very nice.
great video, I have this problem all the time....
the Elsmere green or Freetown crimson look great.
Yes sockless shirt garters are the go to for me, since I usually wear no show socks. Thanks Antonio! :)
Brilliant! I have been using shirt stays for the past 8 months and they are incredible. Thanks for introducing me to them, Sir! The new red colour looks lovely! I'm very interested in them!
How comfortable are they? I would think they would bother you having them on all day?
+jakemf1 It took me about 1 week to get used to them. After that I hardly noticed them at all!
I completely agree!
The Freetown Crimson look nice, very versatile when compared to the other 2 options.
Both shirt stays are great! Ill gladly take either! Ive been looking around for some lately! Great video!
was very use full .I had a big issues havin the shirt tuck in and stay in .Will add these tip to my code of style .
Super!
I like the simple and classic black sockless shirttail garter would fit my bill. I currently wear the Vanguard footloop shirtstays, but would love to not have it have to go around my foot.
I love the freetow crimson design and it's plain and simple design
I think the best thing is too have a good fit around and belove your waistline. The Ashford navy/red look amazing.
Wow, those things wich keeps the shirt tucked in is something I need to buy, I work in a job where they have this dress code to have the shirt tucked in but find it a struggle since I bend and spend alot of time on my knees.
Great video. Which is better, the Y shaped or the straight? Im concerned about the latter, could it bother when sitting??
Hi Antonio. Is it too late to mention which shirt stays we like? I really like the simplicity of KK&Jay's Jackson Dot Grey/White stay, but I'm also drawn to the Elsmere Red strap that you are showing in the video; it seems like the shiny Ferrari of their straps.
I really think this product, specially the sock one would be really comfortable and help us men a lot!
Ashford Black/Grey looks amazing!! Thanks for advice man, great video :)
i work in the service industry. and like to keep a my uniform tucked in but its almost impossible moving around all day. i would be grateful with any shirt stay. great video!
You gotta be more specific!
You're doing great - keep it up!
Jackson Dot Grey/White or
Ashford Black/Grey
Love this post! Was just discussing this issue with the wife the other day.
hoped for some new tipps, but i already knew everything. guess antonio's videos educated me well:)
I would love to have a pair if you have extra calf cuff one I have larger calfs here and sometimes I wear no show socks...also great video too
Hello Antonio,
I recently bought a pair of shirt stays from Sharp and dapper that you talked about in video a few years ago and they do wonders. Now I realized that I'm missing something to hold my pants up with, lol. It would be cool if you could send a pair of navy silk suspenders and help a fellow brother out, thanks.
Washington Navy is my favorite style, and the calf strap style looks interesting I wonder if it works better or worse at staying in place.
A pair of sockless shirt garters would be ideal for me because I tend to wear loafers with no show socks a lot more often than dress shoes with long socks. Great content as usual Antonio!
Thanks Jack!
OMG yess this is what i needed man. i love it keeping it classy and professional for the modern day gentalmen
Agreed!
Nice! Thanks for watching my videos.
