This scene really illustrates the Sith learning process. When savage told Dooku he hated him and Dooku said "Good..." that gave me a chill.

Sith train their apprentices but also don't exactly teach them everything, as an insurance policy. If Savage wasn't a completely dumb brute, he could figure out on his own that a lightsaber is a solid method of defense against Force Lightning.

And after it was destroyed, sidious was so pissed that he kept killing Lemelisk in numerous horrible ways and bringing him back to life in clone bodies.

Makashi is a great style. You can tell Dooku is a skilled fighter, and he uses his saber style to wear out his enemies. Notice how when he fights, even against Anakin and Obi-Wan, he doesn't fight to kill.

    • @masterexploder9668
      @masterexploder9668 5 лет назад +43

He deflects Savage's attacks to the side, as a born fencer, Dooku is excellent at deflecting attacks and bypassing defences of his enemies. When he can't break enemy's defence (Obi-Wan in Ep. 3 was simply too good at that point), Dooku could go back to his extensive choice of Force abilities. I still think he was one of the best all-rounded fighters in SW series ever, though at the point of his death I believe old age started to catch up to him and he tired significantly faster than in his younger years. Similar case to Yoda, he could still kick ass when augmented by Force, but usually he had to walk slowly with a cane. He was unable to continue his duel vs Palpatine in Ep. 3 though to be fair he took quite a beating by falling to the ground.

Sherlock Holmes Its true that a great warrior learns to adapt away his weaknesses and hide away patterns, but at the same time, he had yet to develop his strengths. In other words, I see Juyo as his basic, core technique and Makashi as an indispensable skill to make him a well rounded duelist.

it's quite simple. Juyo is strong against Makashi, Count Dooku's signature form. Since Savage is using a dual bladed lightsaber, he is a user of Niman which is weaker against Makashi.

Dooku would likely only give minimal teaching in Form V, as he personally believed in the importance of developing one's own style and personalized use of a certain form rather than adhering to textbook mastery of a form thus making one predictable in battle. Dooku would've given Savage minimal Form V training, giving him incentive to come up with his own unique application of the form that would become better and better with time.
Dooku knew that if Savage could one day use his own Form V skill to outfence him one day, then Savage would be ready to beat just about anyone. Almost a shame that Savage didn't finish his training with Dooku.
Lets not forget this is Sith training. Not exactly designed to be fair.
Sith training is designed to essentially be nothing short of physical, emotional and psychological torture- designed to destroy who they were before and rebuild them from the ground up as ruthless killing machines.

"You have no technique, sloppy. But with the proper training, you could be a powerful warrior."
I love how Dooku's words to Savage mirrors Anakin's first words to Ahsoka
"You're reckless, little one, you would've never made it as Obi-Wan's padawan. But you might make it as mine."

0:41. It won't be long until Dooku was in that position.

I love how this shows that the sith r not savage monsters/barbarians the Jedi of old have classified as. They actually have technique, intelligence, and a real philosophy/wisdom

You know, Dooku really loves choosing monsters for his assassins. First Ventress, and now, the brother of Darth Maul.

You know, Ventress used to be a Jedi. If the Jedi offered better psychological support to her, she won't have fallen to the dark side.
The Jedi council needs a inquiry to look at why so many of them find the Dark side appealing, not just react like shocked Pikachu when yet another Jedi has fallen.
