A great list . I have 5 of the albums on your list , and I plan to check out the other 5 , plus Pendant World . I love your selection of This Year’s Model . I saw Elvis Costello at Massey Hall in Toronto , on his 1978 tour . He played pretty much all of the album , plus a lot from his debut , and a few from Armed Forces . It was a killer show , that also included Nick Lowe and Mink DeVille . I love that Eno album as well . Cheers !

Just came across your channel, these are some stellar records. This Year’s Model is such a top-notch new wave record while still retaining that punky angst and ferocity. “No Action” and “The Beat” are some of my favorite songs off it. I love Blonde on Blonde and LA Woman as well. Great video! I’ll be sure to check out more of your videos
Thank you Thetheghast when I came across This Years Model man when discovering Armed Forces I knew I was going to dig his body of work that’s is what was cool about working at a record store the other employees turn you on to so many classic albums it’s so inspiring and with the Bob Dylan After Desire it led me to his other work I appreciate your comments have a wonderful week .
Lovell, nice to see your smiling face. You look happy and healthy, keep on truckin'. I love all Roxy Music but ''Avalon'' is the one I listen to the most. My favorite song by them is ''Mother of Pearl''. My cd of ''Coltrane'' includes 4 more versions of ''Tunji'', which is one of my top Coltrane tunes. Haynes, Burton, Metheny, Corea, Holland always generate high level vibrations. Haynes is the driving force behind all their great work, how can you not play great when Roy is creating the Heartbeat and laying down the railroad tracks! My current Dylan listen has been ''Blood On The Tracks'', the ''Desire'' album is the one I play the most. I remember when ''Hurricane'' was released as a single, heard it on the radio and it blew my mind.
Thank you Michael V I have that same cd Coltrane tone was on cruise control killer control. Yes with Metheny Haynes versatility on the drums controlled the vibe big time. Man I really appreciated your comments and feedback. Mother of Pearl is one my favorites to whe I first heard Roxy I was hooked you have a wonderful week my friend take care.
Oh, my man. Thank you. I appreciate that shout out and the kind words. So glad to hear it. Ready to do a joint video whenever you are, sir. Let's chat. Always loved that Coltrane cover photo. So damn great. I'm there with you on that Eno record. You know that record he was trying to make country music for space. Produced by Daniel Lanois. Beautiful album. The track "Weightless" is so so so good. Also cool to see that early Henderson. Still don't have that title. I know that AP cut it at a 2x45. Then Music Matters did it. And now the Blue Note Classic. Gotta nab that one. Nice to see you again after a long break. Bring the heat.
Michael that awesome my friend i definitely going to check out that with Daniel Lanois he’s one of my favorite album producers he produced Emmy Lou Harris Wrecking Ball. That “Weightless” sounds like a classic thanks for the recommendation. That Joe Henderson you will love it . I still need to get that Grant Green Street of Dreams . Have a beautiful week Michael.

Great stuff LA! A number of people have showed that Roxy. Totally my favorite as well. Almost made my list. A bunch of great, core pieces here my friend!
Some good quality stuff in there! For Dead Can Dance Im mostly into their debut - the darker rawer sound. LA Woman is such a classic and was actually the first Doors album I bought as a kid. I still need to listen to that Elvis Costello record. I have a sealed copy of the reissue. Cheers!
Thanks LowNoise Transmit pop open that Costello and take the ride Elvis passion is definitely in the lyrics and the Attractions passion in the music 🎶 I think you will dig it . That La Woman is one I love Jim’s singing make you want to kick the doors down . Dead Can dance debut is a killer start to a great career have a wonderful week and thanks for commenting I appreciate that .
Retromusings thank you for checking out my video Sade is outstanding I was blown away when I saw her live it was like heaven they sound just like the record.
Steve Bender thanks for checking my video out yes Hendrix was one of the first guys that was so mind blowing especially the way he played guitar his tone and tough was bar none the best 👍.
Sheeeeesh a WLP of Coltrane s/t?! Insane! One of my favorite Coltrane albums too. They’re burnin the whole way through that album! LA Woman is easily my favorite Doors album, love the all in bluesyness they did with it. Cheers, man!
@@DAKILLAGORILLA thank you so much for commenting and watching Dead Can Dance is the truth when I first heard the album “within the Realm of a dying sun” I’ve been hooked every since .
Hey Lovell! Enjoyed your top ten! A couple of my faves were in there! Avalon is my go to Roxy! Not their best or most important but the one that gets played the most! I also think it’s cool you rank Desire right at the top too! That my fave for sure among many great Dylan albums! Hope you are enjoying the summer! Best of luck with the house! Cheers, Jon
Jon that’s awesome you you Pick Avalon too Roxy Music is band I totally dig from their earlier records to Avalon’s each album has so much to offer . This summer has been cool diggin’ and home improvement have a wonderful summer Jon and take care.
The opening guitar riff of the Balmorhea song you played on IG sound a lot like the guitar riff in beginning of Undone from Weezer. I need that Balmorhea record. It’s mind altering alright. Great selections, Lovell. I love Brian Ferry and Costello. Two powerhouses from my heyday 80s! I gotta nab me a copy of that Joe Henderson release and Like Minds. I’ve recently become a big fan Gary Burton. You have impeccable taste in music and artists! Thanks for this great contributions! You already know how much I want a copy of that Coltrane. Not a surprise that you love listening to all those. Peace ☮️ Steve
Steve awesome my friend you stopped by that Like Minds is so melodic that band was so tight I still can’t believe Chick Corea passed away he was a piano legend. I appreciate your comment Steve it mean a lot . Ferry and Costello definitely were great I still haven’t seen Costello live it’s on my bucket list to see . I saw Ferry solo and saw him with Roxy Music definitely was amazing have a great week Steve. Definitely grab that Balmorhea it’s gonna be a classic 🥂.
Some great sounding records , and some interesting albums I don't have. That OG Coltrane is in nice condition! So cool to see those vintage Jazz records in that sort of condition. Great stuff Lovell !
Brand ms thanks man I appreciate that as the years go on it’s getting tougher and tougher to find vintage jazz records in excellent condition and the prices steady rises very high. I was so lucky to have found my collection before the vinyl resurgence. Thank you for watching Brad jazz is definitely an addiction I can’t kick have a wonderful week my friend . 🥂
Oh heck YEAH, *APOLLO!!!* I absolutely love that album. 'Deep Blue Day' is one of the best songs from that whole decade - and it's also the music from the toilet scene in 'Trainspotting' 🧠
Great list!. Love Roxy, although prefer their earlier output. LA Woman is my favourite Doors album along with the debut. Not heard that Coltrane album, will have to check out...just ordered a tone poet of Blue Train. Costello is great, particularly his late 70s - mid 80s period. Interesting you mentioned Desire, that's been my go to Dylan album for years. All the best from here in the UK.
Rob thanks man yes those early Roxy Music are so underrated Stranded is another killer Amazona and Mother of Pearl truly one of Ferry’s best vocals IMO . Costello was truly excellent from late 70’s to mid 80’s those are the albums I own have a wonderful week Rob and thanks for commenting and watching .
That's a great stack of records. I have Like Minds on CD - wow, that is a good one. Well, every record you showed in this video is pretty unforgettable. I hope you have more leisure time and can get back in the habit of making more videos. Good luck with the home improvement!
Thanks Randy for commenting it was so fun to post a video those 10 records everyone pulled definitely was an inspiration. If run across that album you definitely be the one I will let you know i still have some more videos to do . Have a great weekend Randy 🥂.
Hey mate what's up!! Nice to see you doing a video man , nice picks bro. I have never bought the Costello record , I think you gave me the final push, I'm gonna look for the Ryan K Smith . I got all APs Doors albums and gotta agree sound fantastic
Thank you Jorge it’s been a long time great to hear from you I dig your videos man. That Costello shocked me how well it was pressed I had an OG for a while Ryan K Smith is definitely one the top mastering engineers definitely seek it out you won’t be disappointed take care. Lovellandrew
Sade - nice! From what I remember, the Elvis Costello SNL stunt cause him not to be invited back (if that’s true). For me, Electric Ladyland is my favorite Jimi, and Highway 61 is my favorite Dylan.
Kris thanks man for stopping by and yes Elvis was banded for along time after that stunt but he became big right after he’s a great songwriter. Highway 61 is my top 5 Dylan albums . Sade definitely puts you in a very chill mood and after seeing her live they sound just like the record. Kris I dig you commented a lot have a wonderful weekend brother .
Thank you so much @Fitzelectricbar9268 I really appreciate subscribing and commenting definitely check out that Brian Eno Apollo that album is so well put together.
My list, sort of : Pixies - Doolittle Neutral Milk Hotel - In the aeroplane over the sea Gang of Four - Entertainment! Sufjan Stevens - Illinois Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon Supertramp - Paris Dire Straits - Communiqué The Waterboys - This is the Sea Television - Marquee Moon Pink Floyd - Animals Dire Straits - Dire Straits The Smiths - The Queen is Dead XTC - Drums and wires Pavlov´s Dog - Pampered Menial Keith Jarrett - Koln Concert.
13:38,all your selections are great, but any man of color who is into the music of BOB DYLAN(especially blonde on blonde) is 100% cool.I'm surprised I'm not the only one and I can see that you have NEIL YOUNG unplugged on your wall.
Thanks Colinwilliams Dylan definitely was a poet his early recordings was influenced by Muddy and had a little acoustic blues in the undertones. Neil Young Unplugged is so underrated he did 2 takes of the recording I appreciate you stopping by have an awesome rest of the week and thank for commenting.
Hi Lovell, I'm new to your channel and I'll definitely be watching more of your content. I'm going to check out a few of those albums you showed such as the Balmorhea one and Apollo by Brian Eno. Love L.A. Woman, it's my second favorite of theirs. All time favorite of mine by the Doors is the debut album. Nice copy of Electric Lady Land. Is that a UK pressing? Never saw that cover before. Best, Steve
Thank you for stopping by that Electric Ladyland is a Japanese pressing on Polydor from the 70’s I never was able to find a decent copy on track so I settled on this one it very clean .
Thanks for checking it out the albums are John Coltrane Quartet - Coltrane, Elvis Costello - My Aim is true , Pat Metheny Like minds, Dead can Dance - Spleen and Ideal , Roxy Music Avalon, The doors L A Woman, Joe Henderson- Page One , Brian Eno Atmospheres and Soundtracks , Sade - Stronger than Pride , Bob Dylan Blonde on Blonde and Jimi Hendrix Electric Ladyland
Fascinating selection, I can tolerate the Doors although been decades since I spun it, Eno's Apollo a masterpiece. Hendrix to my ears is noise pollution, puerile. Avalon is so cheesy and serene, not as 'bad' as it was perceived when it came out. Dylan should be prosecuted for crimes against music, nasty! xx
Thanks Miketomlin for watching Eno body of work is so interesting I feel the best thing he did was to leave Roxy Music it pushed his creativity as a solo artist .
@@MrLovell1971 His solo efforts, or until the early 80's, were much superior, or more sophisticated than Roxy's efforts. (to my mind one of the best pop bands on the planet, or were for a period. ). But he was older by then and tended to use or work with very talented muso's. I remember at the time Avalon came out thinking its reception was a bit harsh, it had/has a lovely 'easy listening' so called radio AOR friendly aroma to it.
@@miketomlin6040 I agree Eno was so creative especially on Here Come the Warm Jets , Taking Tiger Mountain which my favorite Eno to name a few I even dug the albums he done with Fripp and Cluster & Eno.
@@MrLovell1971 His masterpieces, to my mind, although I have discussed his opus quite extensively with plenty of folks over the decades, are Ambient 4 and Another Green World. His early Lp's often seen as a little 'young'. Although personally I do think Apollo is worthy of being seen as 'almost' a masterpiece, but I might be biased here as I heard it at a more impressionable age and it has some 'emotive' associations. (We are likely not on the same page, most of the Lp's you show in your videos I find quite unlistenable!).
@@miketomlin6040 Ambient 4 is one I own also I do spin that album along with Ambient 2 with Harold Budd I spin sometimes I seem to always go Apollo late at night for relaxation and when I read also I see where you coming from.
You have just shattered all my delusions. A man of colour does Dead Can Dance - Spleen & Ideal tracks Mesmerism & Avatar my two favourite DCD tunes.
Thank you saintgeorge6706

Nice video ! Cool. Idea would be to put name of group album lettered on bottom just a suggestion thanks
Oh heck YEAH, *APOLLO!!!*
I absolutely love that album. 'Deep Blue Day' is one of the best songs from that whole decade - and it's also the music from the toilet scene in 'Trainspotting'
🧠
Thank you Willhouse Eno Apollo is truly mind blowing thank for stopping by and commenting

Thank you Jorge it’s been a long time great to hear from you I dig your videos man. That Costello shocked me how well it was pressed I had an OG for a while Ryan K Smith is definitely one the top mastering engineers definitely seek it out you won’t be disappointed take care. Lovellandrew
I just did a flip vid and showed part of my Jimi collection!✊🏻
Cool LiS I’m definitely going to check that out ❤️
Nice video! I just released my own top 10 video this week, and I'm happy to see I'm not the only person who included Sade and Dylan. Good stuff, man!
Average Joe Vinyl I feel you Dylan is a master wordsmith and Sade silky smooth thank you for commenting and stopping by have a great weekend.
Well it’s about time!!!!!

Eno wow he produced Roxy Music And Talking Heads u like ambient

You never disappoint Lovell. Great to see you again~
Rob/Boston
Rob thanks my friend 🥂
@@MrLovell1971I'll let you know what I think of the Balmorhea Pendant World I thin is the title and Brian Eno Apollo albums.
@@rallstonianmusicreport1975 cool 🥂
I've never seen that electric ladyland cover..
Man I was stoked to see it at a shop I grabbed it with quickness.
hey, man, you have eclectic ( spelling ? ) taste . I mean "all over the place". That is so cool .
LA Woman is 5 star LA psych rock
Home run
I really appreciate that brother 🥂
I don’t pull Coltrane. I pull something else though 😮😮😮😮😮😮🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I wish you would list the names of the albums in your notes.

What a list and u got a comment from Mazzy
@@doodahdavesrecords4319 thank you Mazzy is awesome
Funny? My Hendrix album doesn’t have post it notes all over it????
Lol Yes i definitely want to remove them thanks for watching
Why do people pick electric ladyland? Nice tape on the women
🥂it Jimi bust in’ out all his guitar chops and killer compositional skills and influences
