In the final episode of this nail biter of a series we take a look at some more artists and songs that sound exactly the same even though they were written by other people. We also find out wether it was an honest mistake, intentional but legally cleared or just a plain copy or stealing. Spoiler alert - some of these singers definitely knew what they were doing... We take a look at artists like Sam Smith, Fergie, Tom Petty, ABBA and MORE.

Would help to clarify that “sampling” means the original recording was used somewhere in the new song. “Interpolation” is the word for reusing a melodic or lyrical idea to the point that it requires a license for the publishing rights.

Nikolai Ninja , ya that’s what some people here don’t seem to get, there are only so many combinations of song your Bound to get similar ones. Not to mention the human brain is incapable of creating an entirely new thing, every movie idea every quote, everything you will ever think of is just a combination of things you’ve seen heard or thought of before!
Sometimes you hear stuff and subconsciously recreate it later. Most scales also only contain 7 notes, and going outside of scales usually won’t sound good.

@@muffin3203 On mobile and you’ll go into settings, and then accessibility, and you’ll find the option there, under “Hearing enhancements” I think..But I don’t know what it’s like on iphone, as I have an android. There are also options for your phone to detect doorbells and other stuff, that may be helpful :)

When you talk about international covers, I thought of this. I didn't realise a song we did a line dance at weddings and quinceñeras, No Rompas Mas Mi Pobre Corazon, was actually a spanish version of Achy Breaky Heart.... It took so long for it to click.

They both partially sing threw their noses. Petty just sounds more since he has a higher pitch. Smith sings in the low ranges. I am honestly okay and like both singers. Some are far worst. I once heard Adam Levine live once in my life.

I wonder that too but then artists like grimes, iamamiwhoami/ ionnalee, yeule, LLLL, etc come out with music and my faith in music is restored. Artists like these definitely aren’t for everyone but you should check them out with an open mind !!
