Okay but a lot of these "they've gotten worse" are because when you get older your voice tends to get naturally lower especially with female singers. I have over fifteen years of experience with (classical) singing and that's a given in the opera industry. A lot of opera singers (especially sopranos) have to retire when they're getting closer to 60 years because they can't hit the notes the same way anymore.

C0ntr3y No. What I'm saying is: They don't get worse, they get older. Their technique is still as good as it was when they were younger. They may sound a bit different because aging changes their vocal chords but their skills don't just dissappear.

I would say that I’m getting worse at singing, but I never WAS good at singing.
You don't get worse at singing if you're young but only when you get older than 25 years old if you don't train

@@lebomjaja That's not true. If you don't keep practicing then you lose what you've worked on and you'll have to start again, this is the same for all ages and both genders. It's easier to learn to sing and train well as a child as your voice isn't fixed yet so if you train as you grwo you'll have that headstart but as long as you do everything right an adult can learn to sing easily

Mariah Carey’s situation makes me kind of sad for her. She toured and put herself through so much when she was young that they kind of used her up and now her voice is completely wrecked! You can see how sad she was when her voice started to fail after one set of those notes!
Mariah Carey and Madonna are both getting up there in age that’s a lot of abuse on their voices and bodies over a lot of years! Mariah is 50 and Madonna is 62 years old! Madonna is looking pretty frickin’ good in her newest music video, especially when you take into account her age and how many years she’s been doing this!
I agree. I think its also normal for your voice to detoriate as you age. I think roomie said that singers who start really young, lose their voice after like 20-30 years depending. Even Whitney Houston couldnt keep it up and Michael Jackson did a LOT of lipsyncing on his last tour when he was almost 40.

Madonna has always been kinda tonedeaf, but her music and her "brand" has always been on point
I mean, the people that had gotten worse were singers who had passed their primes and probably aren't that active anymore. And the other way around with the people that had gotten better. Taylor Swift was really young in her first clip, 14 or something like that, no wonder she'd grow and get better as a singer over the years. Same thing with Post Malone who was 20 in the first clip and he hadn't grown that popular now as opposed to last year after he had properly broke through.

Taylor is such a good strong singer. I hate that clips that are used don't showcase that at all. The first clip was probably one of her first performances since Love Story was her breakthrough single. Just listen to her Grammy Museum performances. Her voice is so good.

Taylor is really improving. She said it herself in her speech when receiving the award Artist of The Decade that as the years went by, she practices more and more and tried not to be pitchy. Even during her live tours in Speak Now or RED era, her voice started to sound better and stronger. So glad she really killed them vocals now, such an amazing progress

Mariah Carey had nodules her whole life. So she learned to sing with them, and that's one of the main reasons why her voice got deteriorated so fast. Hoping you could see her acapella's this 2020 quarantine. She still got it! She can still do whistles, highbelts, transition through different registers, and alot of technical stuff.
Facts, even during her prime in the 90s the nodules sometimes got in her way but now with the natural decline of her voice through the years and her overworking herself, her voice got much less fluid

Maddona's performance (she was a special guest on the show) was a disaster--she sang flat and everything was off mark, pitching, the costume and the staging.

I think the wardrobe plays a part actually, especially for female singers. Imagine being on stage in that dress Béyonce was wearing on the older video. High heels = you need focus on every step to not fall and die. Tight dress = harder to breathe and sing with power. Short dress = probably has you thinking "all these people are staring straight up my pussy right now" throughout the entire show.
The Bieber situation i just kinda sad. I don't think that he's necessarily a worse singer now but he definitely doesn't seem to enjoy performing and being famous anymore. He just doesn't seem to give a crap and that's sad and understandable at the same time.

not every artist is trained the way bts and other k-pop idols have been trained, you know. k-pop stars go under a lot of years of training to perfect dancing and singing at the same time during their trainee period. Justin Bieber and other western pop artists focus mostly on the singing part, hence they fail to dance and sing properly at the same time.

I know that k-pop idols train for a long time to perfect their singing and dancing combined, but he’s been an artist for a very long time so he should at least be better.
That performance was 5 years ago, he was probably hung over from a night of hard partying and making millions, I just think he probably lost passion as that point in his career. I'm guessing he's better now than ever, but that's really just a guess cause I don't follow him at all.

A lot do lip sync for most of their performances, and there are few that genuinely sing to their best ability while doing hard choreo. To say that K-Pop idols don’t lip sync is just being ignorant, there is a RUclips channel that specifically calls out idols for lip syncing at certain events and shows. That doesn’t mean idols don’t work hard, they do, but not all can sing and not all can sing WHILE doing choreography.
