This was straight up Sum 41 meets Bullet for my Valentine meets Avenged Sevenfold with just a smidgen of Shadows Fall and hell, a touch of Thrice for good measure... and I loved it, lol. Just one big, happy, warped tour smoothie in flash game form.

It wasn't midi, it was actually all loop the creator recorded. There was a tool going around once upon a time that would take your output song file and actually combine the loops into an mp3 for you.
I think it’s amazing this flash game has the accurate drummer movement animations, but tv shows and movies can’t get the movements right (other than whiplash)

PoM2 is a fucking classic. I still hop on it from time to time. Btw, there is an MP3 converter for the songs. You can even get every instrument as a separate track. Cool for editing if you want more control on the final sound
It's a shame EvilDog never made punk-o-matic pro. It was A LOT more ambitious than pom2 and I don't think it could be possible, even with a small team. EvilDog is really good at making games(he also made both road of the dead's and lab of the dead), but meeting and outdoing pom2, that's a tall order

I actually used the first game to make an album that I actually put on Bandcamp under the name "Forgotten Regret." I tried to use this game to make a follow-up, but I was a dumb kid and it was too complicated for me. You made it look easy to make a masterpiece.

PoM2 had a very active fansite when it first released. Especially including the guitar/bass tabs in the PoM2 game really encouraged picking up an instrument.
