Hi Carol & Ken 🙂👍 Always watch but rarely comment. Just a little token of appreciation to let you know your wonderful channel is my little place for tranquility. Take care 🌹🍰

What a beautifully, relaxing video! Just what I needed. Hubby recovering from a recent stroke and had his first ‘long’ walk this morning. One mile. Very proud of him.

Best Channel on RUclips for me at least anyway! Thanks for this. I don't know if you remember, probably not, because you read a lot of comments, but I used to live on the edge of the Peak District. I miss it to this day and your video brought back a lot of lovely memories. Thanks again. Truly enjoyed. Looking forward to the next one.
The Altered Ego music track for your driving sequence made it extra special. Good choice. I lived in Leek for eight months in the mid 80s but never explored the places you visited. Maybe one day I’ll go back, inspired by your own visit. Thanks for another great video.
Loved vlog to watch on a lovely Sunday morning with a cuppa tea and the obligatory dunking biscuits 😋 🎉Some terrific scenery & its a very nice part of the country! Great drone footage too which shows the landscape in a totally different light from what you see qith your pwn eyes. Bloody floes can be a right nuisance when thd weather is very warm.! Great quip about ot not being a fell walking channel 😅😅😅😅 thats another week nearer to the arrival of the new campervan fingers crossed 🤞
Absolutely beautiful video ! Drones make the filming so much more enjoyable. And Ken seems to have mastered the art of flying his drone to capture the best scenery. Thanks so much for taking us along. I certainly am looking forward to the next one .
Hi Carol and Ken,strongly recommen Leki Poles, telescopic and easy to store in the Campervan, to help with balance and give support on uphill and downhill walks, on uneven ground. You might have some room for a pair to share, or one pair each in your new Bilbo? xx
Hi Ken and Carol. I lived near the Roaches for 15 years and spent many a great night camping in my van. In the autumn the Bilbury bushes produce sweet little berries that are delicious picked straight off the vine. Btw you can see the’winking man’ as you drive along the Buxton road. Stunning area. Beautiful video with incredible drone footage as usual ❤
Another awesome day out shared, thanks... Nice to spend the day with you... and envious of that curry... do love a good curry.. one for the weekend I think..

I still haven’t figured out how 2 of you can fit your day to day needs and yourselves in the little red camper van. Where do you put your clothes and how many changes do you pack for a 2 week trip? I tended to pack an outfit for each day and rolled everything together for each day. I have managed to get 3 days for each outfit this trip but half of it was painting a piece for a friend of my husband’s. I changed socks and under things and how I managed not to get paint or dinner on anything is beyond me. Completely out of character but if I manage to identify the trick and improve it, I might be able to do this after all. A roach is a fish in the UK and a revolting bug in the US. So odd but thinking the name must have come about during the time when the two countries had little use for each other. We could feed our roaches to your roaches and everyone would be happy. Until one got away. Zipping it. Great video! Thanks for the memories!
We make our clothes last three or four days, alternating tops every day. We made this video about what we take for a longer trip: ruclips.net/video/WinP-cfjxMo/видео.html
I guess using the Roaches, they wanted a different location for the 2011 Jane Eyre movie. Some previous Jane Eyre movies, were filmed at Brimham Rocks in Yorkshire.
Hi guys. Hope all is well. I give you both credit as I couldn’t of made the trek to the top of those hills. It was certainly beautiful countryside. I also watch a channel called Fly, Drive, Explore where Marcus does a lot of walking and explains a lot about it. He and his Mel are from Wales. Very interesting channel. The drone scenes are very nice. Great soundtrack Ack as usual.

Parts of Derbyshire are lovely too but this is Staffordshire Moorlands. People often think of Derbyshire as being the Peak District National Park but this is the best - and most peaceful- part.

Lovely. We take the Roaches for granted as they’re so close but they are spectacular, and you’ve shown them off beautifully. Do you use ND filters on the drone for shooting in bright light? Ooh lizards. One of my faves. There’s a few in our next video too. Good to see you’re both well enough to take a tough walk together. Take care x
We loved it there. Got a close up of a lizard finally on the Isle of Wight. I have ND filters but to be honest I haven’t used them yet. Look forward to seeing your next episode. Always a good watch 👍
@@LifeistooshortCK ooh interesting. There’s an extant colony of European wall lizards there. I wonder if it was one of those. Bigger greener and less timid than our native lizards.
the face that ken spoke about set in the rocks is called the winking man so i believe. the rock has a profile of a mans face as seen from a side on view. that rock has an hole in it which looks similar to an eye. the rock is set back 100 yards away off the leek to Buxton main road and as you drive past it the rocks eye because of the effect of an optical illusion appears to wink at you as you pass the winking man rock as seen in your car from the road below.
Thanks for another cheerful jaunt. This morning was a hard white frost about 1C. Kia Ora from New Zealand. 💜💜 PS: Are you able to give us a demo with your drone, sometime?
@@LifeistooshortCK Thanks Guys, Perhaps (as I presume you are both involved) you team up with another couple, to actually decide & create a piece you can then both use, to let people know how much is involved from idea to after editing and posting a section involving your drone. 💜💜💜
I like pootling. Pootling is a British informal term that means to move somewhere slowly and with no real purpose. It can refer to wandering or rambling in a leisurely, indirect, or aimless manner, such as by walking or driving 😁👍
I don't know, if some BR came and dropped stuff I'd probably just pick it up next morning. I cant judge i was like that once and my friends were much worse. Ah, youth.
so I assume there is a mode on the drone to follow you some how? Or is Ken some how able to use his Jedi skills in the back seat to make the drone follow the van?
So different to see cars parked on the side of the small county lanes we have nothing like that here in America You talk about the boy racers is that cars or motorcycles. Is it a big problem?
Hello! I'm enjoying your video completely! And I love your music! 😁 Only one problem that I saw was the livestock gate that you drove over very quickly. In Canada, you'd get a good swearing at by the farmer, if you went over the gate at more than a crawl. Oh heck, while I'm at it, we stop for all pedestrians at corner crossings, too. I've noticed in past videos that Ken drives very quickly through when there are people waiting to cross. Sorry for being such a Sour Sally. (Or back seat driver👎)
I know that on video it looks like I am driving fast but actually I’m not it’s just the wide-angle lens of the camera that exaggerates speed. on our most recent trip to the Isle of Wight I shot mostly using an iPhone and if you see that series in the future, you will notice a huge difference because the lens is nowhere near as wide.
Giving way to pedestrians at corners has now been added to the Highway Code this year(2023) in the UK. The problem is that most motorists don’t update themselves on changes and even those that do try to yield are met with blank looks from pedestrians that don’t know about the new rules either! 😊
Hi Carol & Ken 🙂👍

I was surprised that a fly can set off your alarm. Do you have something extra added to your security?
@@LifeistooshortCK ooh look forward to that. Not sure I’ll bother with filters then. Nothing wrong with your footage at all x
@@LifeistooshortCK forgot to ask. Did you see the lizard around the Ventnor area?
@@adogaday yes it was on the steps down to Steephill Cove 🙂👍
Thanks for the info. Will have to look out for that next time we are up that way 🙂👍
Beautiful scenery and views from there, but excepting the farms the place seems pretty bereft of life.
well, to be honest, it’s just farm animals that you see these days with the odd glimpse of a fox or deer 👍
Thanks for another cheerful jaunt. This morning was a hard white frost about 1C. Kia Ora from New Zealand. 💜💜 PS: Are you able to give us a demo with your drone, sometime?
What do you have in mind for the demo
@@LifeistooshortCK Thanks Guys, Perhaps (as I presume you are both involved) you team up with another couple, to actually decide & create a piece you can then both use, to let people know how much is involved from idea to after editing and posting a section involving your drone. 💜💜💜
I’d love to be a fly on the wall - but not in your van! Haha
They don’t last long 👍
What do you say at 10.13 please? Just before ‘going for a walk, you can’t beat it’.
I like pootling. Pootling is a British informal term that means to move somewhere slowly and with no real purpose.
It can refer to wandering or rambling in a leisurely, indirect, or aimless manner, such as by walking or driving 😁👍
Ah thanks for replying. I listened over and over but couldn’t tune in to what you were saying. 🙏
I don't know, if some BR came and dropped stuff I'd probably just pick it up next morning. I cant judge i was like that once and my friends were much worse. Ah, youth.
I pick it all up in the next one. 👍
so I assume there is a mode on the drone to follow you some how? Or is Ken some how able to use his Jedi skills in the back seat to make the drone follow the van?
There is a follow mode but Ken likes to keep it under control while Carol does the driving.
So different to see cars parked on the side of the small county lanes we have nothing like that here in America
You talk about the boy racers is that cars or motorcycles. Is it a big problem?
Not big just an annoyance at times. 👍
🌹👍
True! This is videography! Things are not actual, but an edited version! Continue on and ignore the back seat drivers! 👍
Giving way to pedestrians at corners has now been added to the Highway Code this year(2023) in the UK. The problem is that most motorists don’t update themselves on changes and even those that do try to yield are met with blank looks from pedestrians that don’t know about the new rules either! 😊
