    Another Sunday morning with the all essential cuppa tea and dunking biscuits 😋 watching another entertaining & relaxing vlog. This series with the stately homes has been very good with some lovely gardens & surrounding areas. Melton Mowbray is synonymous with pork pie 🥧 & they are simply delicious 😋 I'm thinking in this country of ours we need to get some education innour schools to help prevent this blight on our nation that is rubbish just bloody thrown down & sometimes right nextvto a bin!!!!! What's all that about?? Really gets my back up seeing take away,chocolate papers & coffee & milkshake cups discarded all over car parks too!!🤬🤬anyway rant over ..Ken did his bit & fair play. I so admire how economical the two of you travel. I took many trips to Paris for the museums and art. And I never ate out. But had fabulous food and found a very modest but spotless hotel in the Latin Quarter. I learned the ropes before I went but after the first trip, I was even able to be more economical. The point was doing what I wanted and learning Paris.
    I did blow it out one freezing night and did the boat Cruz in the dark. Worth every cent.
    Also you cook such wonderful meals in the van! I just adore it and bravo for seeing the UK and Europe on a budget.
    Just removing the hotel accommodation saves a fortune. To think you did this trip for $50 pounds a day and ate very well, is amazing. My feeling is you must eat somewhere, so if you took the food costs off, it would be less because you would be eating at home!

    • @LifeistooshortCK
      @LifeistooshortCK  10 месяцев назад +1

      It’s a cheap way to travel if you exclude the large cost of the van. One day when its gone and we take into account depreciation we can reveal the true average cost per night 👍

      @@LifeistooshortCK, oh but you have LIVED, lived life to it’s fullest. There is no price you put on that. But using your travel pounds so very wisely has allowed you to experience so much.
      But, yes, if you divide the cost of the van, I do still believe it will have been way more economical than the high price of hotels. But it would be very interesting to know. As always, I could be very wrong! 😅

    In memory of the late grate (no, that’s NOT a typo, I will have you know) Michael Adams, I have GOT to say that this is the most fun I have had since the pig ate my brother. No, we did not keep, visit nor encounter pigs. All of my brothers are accounted for and Michael did not have a brother to the best of my knowledge but I only knew him for 35 years. Having said ALL of that, this was another enjoyable series, thank you. The nonsense or vulgarity, depending on your point of view, was something that just popped into my head and I had to say it. For Michael as my fury at his departure is fading. I have considered a membership with the NPS, and the NHS though that is a bit more pricey. I have decided that I will establish a membership in person. Classical Civilization memories during the Elizabethan days sounded like an unlikely thing but then I realized that there were probably handfuls of people who fondly remembered the Good Old Days. Cromwell and all his shenanigans. You had Cromwell, we have an unmentionable former president. Being younger, it took us a bit longer. Here’s hoping this is the end of it. ::::looking around for any other pot to stir:::: Thank you for a lovely hour! Do you need a license or a permit for your drone? Do you get permission or ask forgiveness when flying your drone? And was/is there a test?

    I can’t even imagine living like that! Can you? Lol😂 just absolutely gorgeous homes. Thanks so much for sharing your travels and more with us. Ken thanks so much for picking up the trash. Your right if others don’t clean up after the slobs they will shut places down. We have had alot of places closed here in the States.

    Sometime in the early 90s, my job took me to London and it was arranged for me and several other staffers to visit Easton-Neston near Towcester in Northamptonshire. It is a private house and not open to the public. It is a beautiful stately home, but not quite up to the standards of an estate open to the public. I surprised the then-owners with my own personal story that I lived near a city called Easton in a county called Northampton.

    Hi Carol and Ken, another great watch, your editing and music choice is spot on. I've got to go back and watch your last few episodes as I've just returned from my first big solo 4 week adventure.
