"Levi" is a Hebrew name, actually, so neither "re-vi" nor "ri-vai" are correct. I think, though I'm not sure, that the correct pronunciation of said name is "leh-vee". For reference, that is also the way Primo Levi's family name (a Jewish-Italian author and nazi holocaust survivor) is pronounced.
Not so fun fact: The dead guy who was given CPR by his girlfriend was actually ripped in half in the manga, the anime just censored the scene and made it so the guy was still in one piece but still dead
wait what? where did you watch the anime? crunchyroll and hulu and i think even funimation show him ripped in half. armin tells her to stop because he’s dead and it zooms out and only half of his body is there.
To be fair of the character throwing a titan over his shoulder, it was established in Season 1 that titans don't weigh all that much as Hanji kicks one of their head like a kickball and it goes flying like one. Though it probably wouldn't be as easy realistically, it's still potentially plausible if you keep that nugget of information in mind. The clock tower thing though? Yeah I don't fricking know.
Titans are lighter than they should be, but they still have like 10-20% the weight they should have, so flipping a 10 ft titan is still like flipping a heavy person, possible theoretically, but the size of the titan makes it near impossible.
@@Forestdude9000 And with how frantic titans are with how much they wanna eat you, that really lowers the chances of it happening. But even though it's theoretically possible, I'm not saying that anyone can just lift and throw the Colossal Titan Super Mario 64 style

That's for specific parts of the body tho... The bulk of body mass is always concentrated in the centre so it would be significantly harder to lift a whole titan. Plus, even if it is logically feasible, it just seems so bizarre because they never introduce the point of titans being light in the movie itself. For someone watching the movie before the actual anime it would seem so weird to see the big ass monsters being lifted like that

I've never heard of anything so contrived and ill conceived for the backstory of the titans' existence. There is so many ways how a modern era would absolutely squash an outbreak of near mindless, rampaging titans. It's why the anime has it set in pre-modern era for this to work.
1:50, he IS a good actor, that role just wasn’t meant for him. I wish people could understand that. Last year he passed away from suicide. We continued the first episode and he kept complaining about how everything was so dramatic and stupid. 😑 He did not shut up. Than I asked him to leave and he wanted to stay and continue criticizing every second of it. His little brother was actually trying to get into it but joined my cousins side and they both ended up hating the anime.
That’s the thing, if you expose a person to the false source first, (movie, show) they tend to favor the non-canon source rather than the original since the original doesn’t match up with the non-canon source. For example, If you expose your little brother to the live action of death note, they probably won’t view the actual anime the same way as the movie. Pretty much biased opinions. It’s human nature
Idea: Just make the live-action adaptations take place in the same universe but follow a completely different plot. Then you get some competent writers, directors, and actors, and you're set. Even better if you add some extra bits that reference the source material as a bit of fan-service, and you have a good adaptation. Basically, just be the MCU. Don't be overly faithful and strangle creative abilities, but don't go so balz 2 tha walz that it loses its original connections.
Having a bunch of Japanese actors playing the *white, European* protagonists while keeping their names and the setting was the first and only red flag I needed.
Yes, it got sucks when the actor's race is different with the character's race. Just like how Hollywood used a white actor to played Goku, this movie, and ATLA live action
My biggest problem with this movie is probably just because of the characters. Everyone has black hair and a lot of them has have the same hairstyle. I legitimately couldn't remember who's who so i couldn't get any emotional attachment to them, and any deaths of the main gang just loses its meaning.

I herd a director once said. "no director want's to retell someone else's story". This is probably why most screen adaptations of (insert videogame/comic/anime title) is 99.99% always different from the original. Furthermore AoT is a masterpiece, those are some huge shoes to fill. Any adaptation will be heavily scrutinized by the fanbase.
They should maybe do an AoT that centers around the point of view of the lesser known characters. Maybe that of the Owl. Telling his entire story from child hood to adult. It would make a nice spin off.
This is on Netflix in my country, and it was even on the theater when it came out, but I have never ever heard a word of praise for it, so I have avoided it like the plague

I mean they could've casted German people but, c'mon this was a quick merchandise movie tie in for Japan. Also I thought this movie had nothing to do with AOT just the basic concept of titans, like for some reason i assumed the movie was just set in Tokyo with it's own original characters. Which wouldve been better bc people would not be as critical on how shit this movie is if it was own thing.
While, I’m glad the live action Aot franchise never became a thing. I can’t help but be morbidly curious if to how they would have handled season 4 material.

It scared the heck out of me and I didn't have the guts to watch Attack on Titan anime when I found out about it. But when I finally dared to watch Attack on titan in anime, I found a lot of differences and it was not as scary and disturbing as this live action movie. And also, I couldn't separate between Eren and Armin at that time. They were like twins lol. When I found out about Attack on Titan anime, I first thought that Armin was a blonde girl and confused why the armoured titan and colossal titan are not Shikishima and the commander. 🥲
Disclaimer: in the manga this is a lot more explained, but Mikasa and Eren actually aren’t adopted siblings to begin with. Grisha (Eren’s dad) took Mikasa in after the cabin incident, but she was never adopted into the family.
: - | what? You mean they didn't make the bureaucracy so that it was officially adopted? Because come on, she was a child, and they took her to live with them. That is adopting.
@@blackcid She's not adopted lol. She lived with them for at most a year. She and Eren also never refer to them as her parents. And Eren himself stated that he doesn't want her to think of him as a brother.
we see how the story has developed and they were only making an adaptation of the story before any of the major reveals. this is why adaptations that change a lot of things should at least never be made until the show/manga is finished, now if they were to continue this, it would make the marley arc less impactful with their technology being more advanced.
Many movie adaptations are indeed made this way, like Lord of the Rings where the books have existed for decades and sometimes centuries so the wories of whether the adaptation will spoil the work is usually a non factor...but something to mention is that on films that are being adapted as their made, usually, the author of the IP is consulting them (the studio) on the film... I don't know the story was with live action AOT, but clearly there was a huge disconnect in what could have been an otherwise modest set of movies. This movie could have easily taken just the attack on Shiganshina into a SINGLE movie, which would have easily given the story enough padding for the manga and anime to unfold before the movies do. For instance the Harry Potter films, were being made and released, when Harry Potter was not finished, where Film 1 came out when book 4 was out. By the time Book 7 came out, Movie 6 was just released i believe...and that film saga was of course one of the biggest most successful saga's of all time. JK Rowling, was heavily part of the creation of those films so ya...i think there's a lesson to be learned from Japan film making industry cause they destroyed was basically their IP equivalent to Harry Potter in terms of popularity, and that's a shame.
But in the anime, it looks much more of an easier sight on the eyes while still looking badass. Basically I'm saying, I agree. But It might be a little too hard on the eyes.
Good or bad, they shouldn't have made an adaptation for a series that wasn't finished at the time. No spoilers, but a lot of the things they actually did adapt from the first season of the anime were plot-twisted a lot in the later seasons, so it basically doesn't make sense anymore
saying there were a good chunk of faithful adaptations is like giving live action dragonball evolution praise for having gokus Gi orange and his kamehameha blue
It's from the Old Testament, the priest tribe. It's also the name of my dog who has a very long nose. I was wondering why my dad recommended that, but I get it now.

@@mbii7667 good Hollywood lmao. Also I said if it followed the anime, unlike mostly all of the others. Look at Watchmen for example. They would obviously have to change a little for runtime and definitely split it into multiple movies, but I think if they closely followed the character design and backgrounds I think it would actually be a good idea.

You also have to realise that the titan was smaller then Eren titan (15 meters/50 feet) then he wouldn't be hard to carry

Here’s an excuse for the guy throwing a titan:
They are actually supposed to be ridiculously light. A severed arm weighs as much as tree bark.
What about that time Reiner struggled to carry a titan that was twice his size, even though Reiner was a chunky boy
That's for specific parts of the body tho... The bulk of body mass is always concentrated in the centre so it would be significantly harder to lift a whole titan. Plus, even if it is logically feasible, it just seems so bizarre because they never introduce the point of titans being light in the movie itself. For someone watching the movie before the actual anime it would seem so weird to see the big ass monsters being lifted like that
and then he straight up pulls a tower down while being shot by a firing squad, seriously is that guy supposed to be a titan too?
if they're so light how can they have a good balance and throw people around? It makes no sense, if they were that light a bunch of humans could overpower them by force

we see how the story has developed and they were only making an adaptation of the story before any of the major reveals. this is why adaptations that change a lot of things should at least never be made until the show/manga is finished, now if they were to continue this, it would make the marley arc less impactful with their technology being more advanced.
