On the IPL the spark plug service interval was around 60k miles. Our car is almost due for another set. I think it would be wise to clean the throttle bodies at 100k interval. Ours has 115k and they were ready for a clean.
i have a 2015 Infiniti q40 and i bought the car 2 weeks ago. its in good conditions and only has about 140,000 miles. however recently when i went to accelerate to show my friend the pickup the car has my gas pedal stopped working and my check engine light turned on. when i pulled over and turned the car off and on the gas pedal worked again but the check engine light was still on. it gave me a p2135 code. and since then its been rough accelerating after a complete stop or sometimes will just sit still then bump into gear. it will sometimes wait untill 7-8000 rpms to shift up and jolts when it does. could it be this? or maybe just a sensor? I'm afraid its the transmission because that's what went out on my old car nd there's no way I can afford one right now so any cheap ideas would be appreciated
This code sounds like you have an issue with your passenger side throttle control actuator on the throttle body. Make sure the harness is plugged into the throttle body properly if you just had it serviced.
At 5:53, are you sure you didn't have to push the start button twice to finally get it into ignition 2 mode on that first attempt? Saw there was a proper delay there in the vid and your finger hitting the start button a second time under 5 seconds before it went into ignition 2 and you actually counted the first 5 seconds. Just wanted to clarify for everyone who needs to do this without a scanner. Thanks for doing this video btw.
It’s been a while since I made this video. But I do know the process varies between auto and manual. Ours is an auto. We have had this G nearly 10 years and it’s so reliable compared to all the other cars I chose to enjoy. 🤣
This code is not related to the throttle bodies. I would start simple and check spark plugs. Make sure to replace with OEM plugs if you decide to replace.
@ the code seems to come on when the weather is cold and only on a cold start. I’ve replaced the plugs with OEM a year ago and it fixed the problem then cold weather came again and got the same code. I replaced ignition coils on bank one since I was getting them on that side and it fixed it now a year later I got the same code swap coil packs to see if it would follow up to the other bank and they stayed in bank one.
So I have a g37 coupe with 130k and it just started to jolt when idling and the rpm goes up slightly. Spark plugs are new so do u think this could help or fix the problem
I would definitely do this service if you haven’t before. Our G was at a similar mileage when it started giving us trouble. This service resolved it. Be sure to do the recalibration process at the end of
You are a lifesaver!! After a shop cleaned my throttle bodies, doing this fixed my g's sluggishness. Thank you so much 🙏🏻
You’re welcome! I’m glad this was helpful!
Great video, it was very informative. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Did you do spark plugs too? My g37 still lags even after spark plugs do you recommend throttle cleaning at 95k miles

yea man i was comfused to but yea u do have to press 2 times and also make sure your car is cold for it to work
Nice. So you never actually remove the throttle bodie plat out of the bodie to clea. It better?
No need, you can sufficiently clean it without removing. Done 20k miles since this service and no issues and idle is perfect.
I seem to be to doing it but my car don’t hold it’s rpm an shut off am I doing something wrong?
Is your car an auto or a manual? I recall the relearn process is slightly different depending on which trans you have.
Hello, could a dirty throttlebody be causing me to have a P0 300 on my Infiniti?

Same process as q50 ?
@@shineyboi if it’s the 3.7 it should be the same.
I did this and installed my new kn air intake now my cat won't start is there anything special to do with throttle body when reinstalling
As long as you didn’t unplug them you should be ok.
Just be sure to follow the relearn procedure in the end of the video
@@LowTechGarage I unplugged them lol so have I ruined them
Does this work on the 2014 q50 with the 3.7 engine?
Yes this should work the same.
Thank you!@@LowTechGarage , also would you recommend disconnecting the battery before doing this?
No need disconnect battery before cleaning?!
