I agree about the non rounded edges Huck! It's the main reason I'm not sure about getting the Gear Sport for myself. I'd prefer to get the smaller watch, as I am a female with smaller wrists. BUT, I do prefer the look of the s3 frontier.
Samsung really didn't do anything for us females (or smaller people), as far as new watches are concerned. They should have released the both the s3 frontier and classic in the larger size, and a smaller size.
I think they took the speaker off because while it's nice, many people don't call off of their watch, so they replaced the speaker with a way to make it much more water resistant, which fits in with the sporty theme, because the water pressure would get in the speaker if it had one after a while
Not having the same hardware of the s3 like Samsung Pay breaks it for me. Thankfully it seems like the gear sport watch is meant to be it's own separate line of watch from the s3 so hopefully there will be an s4 successor that keeps and improves everything the s3 has.

Hey Huck, I had the Samsung gear fit but being in a wheelchair I wanted to take a step up. I swim during the summer despite being in the chair. I was going to get the new Samsung watch active but I think the gear sport has a little better battery life and I like the bezel. I think it fits my wrist better too and looks more like a watch than the active. I know the active runs 4.0 but I heard the sport will have it too I was able to get the blue sport for $177 after $50 discount Amazon was giving when you applied for their Visa card. The blue one was more expensive than the black version. It's on its way to me right now and I'll be using it this summer. Nick

The gear sport is basically a fit bit since it doesn't have a speaker. The size is perfect but I can't get over the speaker and the no magnetic strip thing too, I would like to use it everywhere I use my phone to make purchases, Idk the gear s3 is a kinda big but I think I would choose that instead

Honestly most people complain about the speaker and don't use it like seriously being public and being seen screaming at your watch trying to talk to someone if it had a speaker I would just use it at home
No unfortunately and very sadly it does not have a speaker. but I have not tried connecting it to Bluetooth headset and maybe you might want to try that see what happens

They dont have the same processor at all, the gear sport has the old exynos 3250 and the gear s3 has the new exynos 7270 both are 1GHz dual core but the processor on the s3 is much more powerfull.

S3 is there upper range option and sport is mid range that is why you lose the speaker its more affordable.

The Galaxy Watch has a speaker and it's just as water resistant.
