I do the same thing with my Gear S3. I have a new black stainless watchband which is so nice.
I’ve been watch a few watch 4 videos I been convinced to buy and upgrade. Two big reasons for me are health tracking and Google play store. The health tracking on the watch 4 has been improved immensely from past galaxy watches that’s been my biggest gripe with Samsung watches. I like to workout a lot having accurate tracking to see how I’m doing is a must for me. Now the galaxy watch 4 using wear OS instead of tizen is a big win in my book. Having more access to apps from the Google play store including Google assistant and maps is awesome.
Still on my frontier....it's the best most expensive looking of the bunch. Not sure why weight is such a factor for people. It's a watch ...it ain't that heavy. Still might upgrade to the 4....though it looks cheap next to the frontier. Frontier is the king.

I have the Gear S3 Frontier and I really want to upgrade to the latest and greatest but I just can't find a reason. What does the Watch 4 do that I can't do? I mostly just check the time and my notifications honestly but if there's a feature that I decide I'll use, I could see myself upgrading.
Samsung First Smartwatch was Square and it had a Built-In Camera in the Watch Bend. It was pretty High Tech.
My wife still has that watch.

@@darriusholt I tried Sony Smartwatch after and they stop making Smartwatches and I couldn't find Bends for it the was made Sony. Sony Smartwatch was almost as good as Samsung Original Smartwatches.

I need help! Got a promo going on with Samsung. Basically trading in Galaxy watch 1 to receive 170 CAD off galaxy watch 4 ( I'm going classic 46mm ). Getting scared with the battery life. Is it worth taking the jump? I Love the 3-5 day battery life on GW1 i get without sleeping with it and always on display off but wrist raise on. But I feel there's a big jump in software and UI with the new OS... I feel so torn

It's nice to see all the generations side by side to have a good idea about size difference/looks between the models. This convinced me to upgrade my og galaxy watch 43mm to the 42 watch 4 classic, loving all the upgrades. Yes battery life hasn't improved a lot but it isn't a big deal for me. Samsung knocked it out of the park this generation, the only thing I wish they could have included is MST.
I have the og galaxy watch 1 and im considering to upgrade to galaxy watch 4 im so confused, i dont really know if its worth it my only concern is battery like.. if the watch is rocking 1 day of heavy use now while new in 2 years you need to charge 2 times a day or somethibg like that,.....i just dont know what to do.. my heart tell me to buy it, my brain tell me to wait.

I had an S3 Frontier for about 5 years and loved it. I decided to go ahead and upgrade. I got myself the Watch 4 Classic (46mm) and am really enjoying it. I get 2 full days of use. I do like that it is lighter than the Frontier.

I've been waiting for a comparison video of all these watches. Plus 1 for acknowledging MST. This has been the only reason I still have my Frontier. I'm pretty sure it won't be supported for much longer though do I went ahead and pre-ordered a new Galaxy 4 but it has been on back order and just got pushed back till 7 October 😥.

Honestly I keep the OG Galaxy Watch until it dies on battery. Yes it does have scratches on the stainless steel but as CJ says "if you are happy, there is no need for change" 😉

The galaxy watch 4 does look nice but is not compatible with iPhone. I still have the first galaxy watch and I’m planning on getting a Samsung phone but i don’t know when. My question is, should I upgrade to the 3 or wait until i get a phone with the watch 4?

I have the gear s3 frontier and now the galaxy watch 4 classic I have found that you can't get the faces you paid for on the s3 frontier to the galaxy watch 4 classic and I'm sad and that would make a great video you should do a tutorial on how to recover faces from your old s3 frontier to galaxy watch 3 or 4 or 4 classic

I've had my gear s3 frontier since 2019. I've had some issues with it freezing and the screen not turning on, otherwise it's been perfect

Awesome comparison. The Frontier was great,but one of their last updates killed the battery life. I've had the Galaxy Watch for a couple of years and it's been great. I was jonesing for something new so I got the GW4 (today) on Samsung's try it for 21 days promo. Loving it so far. The bit emoji watch faces are 🔥. The battery life will be the deciding factor. I'm a charge it every day guy so hopefully it last the whole day with some to spare.

Great informative video! I was contemplating if I want to upgrade my Galaxy Watch, and I think I'll stick with it. The other watches look great aesthetically, and have cool new features, however I'm satisfied with what I have.

I'm legit driving to best buy right now about to return the galaxy watch 4. Didn't open box. My girl bought it for my birthday cause she thought I wanted a new watch but I have the frontier. It has been amazing and I keep it cause the battery. 2 plus days is amazing. Thanks for comparing and proving that the difference is not much. I use it for text, samsung pay, and just time and date.

MKy s3 Frontier finally died after having it for almost 5 years. I really like the look and weight to it but with it being so old, debating on getting a refurb or moving to the Watch 4 classic.

I traded in my Galaxy Watch for the Galaxy Watch 4. The only reason I traded it in is because it won't be getting the new OS. I'll miss the battery life of the Galaxy Watch.

I have the frontier S3 and only got it because it came with a tablet I bought. I find it pretty handy. No intent to upgrade until this thing dies. I am however looking for a watch to give my wife to try. This comparison leads me to think a Galaxy watch 3 might be the best place to start. Thanks!

Nothing beats the original Galaxy Watch's battery life. I get consistently 5.5 days battery life, which means I only need to charge it during the weekend.
Yo, if mine didn't start going slower on me and sometimes not even alerting me or even showing I had notifications, I totally would still be using the original Galaxy watch.

That never happened to me, but maybe because I switched to a new (original) galaxy watch two years ago (so in total that is about four years with the same model)

as someone who went from the Galaxy watch to the Galaxy watch 4, I'd say, if you wanna have google play store and google maps, then go for it. Other than that, it really felt like I downgraded. Sold my 4 classic and downgraded to the watch 3 and much happier with the 3 over the 4. Especially the band size. The watch 4 classic band size are smaller than the gear, original, and the 3, which when I got my 4 made all my watch bands totally unusable. Basically (and this is larger size watches), the older larger sizes use 22mm bands. The Watch 4 classic 46mm use a 20mm band. So if you had the smaller galaxy watch (41mm) then yeh you'd have no issue, but for those of us with big wrists who got bigger watches, then yeh you'd need to buy new watch bands cause both versions of the Watch 4 use 20mm bands. And in my personal opinion, the smaller bands on such a big watch just looks weird. To counteract the weirdness I ended up getting a UAG nylon band.
I got the 4 classic in the end. Absolutely love it. Great having the maps on my watch etc, and being able to use the gboard to type. Definitely a huge upgrade for me. Thanks 😊
I have to disagree cause my frontier takes a betting so you have to wait and see how long it will last and can it take a betting
About the compatibility; Its not Samsung's fault that it cannot connect to iPhones. Since they switched operating systems, and now the watch4 series ect... run on wear os, thats is what restricts it. Wear os does not have ios support
I just picked up a GW4 for $40 to upgrade my OG. First complaint is the 4 charges SO SLOWLY. My battery life was never great because I got the rose gold with the 270 mAh but it would charge fully in less than an hour. I was looking everywhere for this comparison, you came in clutch and earned a sub!

I had left a comment on Ckid’s channel about the same issue. I am a avid Samsung phone user but I wanted Apple to open up their watch to android users and I just don’t think it’s going to happen. I was ready to throw money at them too..I still think I would be a good idea but since at the time I had a Fitbit Versa 2 I was ready to level up to a more advanced smart watch. My husband got me the Active 2 but when the Gw4 dropped I traded it in and loving it!
I feel like the s3 is louder than the watch4 I can barely hear someone when I pick up a call.

The great thing about a smart watch is the learning curve was a breeze. Anyone who is use to using a phone is going to feel right at home.
I still have the s3 frontier...I work in a warehouse setting and would cry if I broke a new watch face lol. My only gripe is on bad carpal tunnel days the bulky ways tend to hurt me worse. The only reason to upgrade for me is the health...apparently my old s3 battery is way better bc i can still go nearly wk on a charge. I literally don't use the watch for anything outside fitness health and contact when I can't use my phone. I guess I'm good not upgrading but would benefit as well...humph

I chose the S3 because of MST alone. A year or so later, it doesn't work 100% of the time. It barely works anymore, so I cannot count on it. I normally just use my card now for that reason.
Tizen os in the watch 3 is almost perfect to be optimized cuz there were 3 watches before it ,but watch 4 is GEn 1 and it needs some time to be perfect
an update to thier wearables app on ios , can also be an apple block , or use wear os on ios but you miss alot of functions , i upgraded from the s3 fronteer to the 4 classic , the s3 still has a good batterylife even after having it for over 5 years , also own an apple watch 5 but never use it due to too many apps require the iphone to work , and even though it has 32 gb you are forced to use bluetooth to hear it , which is a shame , my fav watch is the kospet prime 2 a mega 2 inch round display with full android and no phone required
Honestly I wouldn't completely rule out the og GW
It has the best battery life of the bunch and it is very very cheap (It goes for 70/90$ rn), that's a great smartwatch for who looks for basic functionality (Notification, Heartrate, Step Counter, Sleep Tracking) and doesn't need the latest and greatest and loves the rotating bezel, and besides it is a way better deal than the GW3 as it will remain on Tizen as well. If someone doesn't need or like a phisical rotating bezel there is the GWA2 as well that is dirt cheap as well and wasn't put in this video, same features of the GW3, lower price.

It happened to me... i replaced and bought battery from Amazon for like $12... now 1 year later still going strong 💪🏽. It last actually longer than the og battery.
I have owned every one of these watches and the biggest jump was galaxy watch 3 to 4 it is so much smoother and you have so many apps. Galaxy watch 4 is amazing!

O have the Gear S, S2, Gear S3 Frontier (my favorite), Galaxy Watch, and Watch 4 classic. I like LTE versions and 46mm. I wear the Galaxy Watch and Watch 4 the most. I traded in the Watch 3.

I just bought a 46mm 4 since they're now wicked cheap. But I still stay with my 46mm 3 because of the watch faces. Google just doesn't any real good ones. Also I'm not a fan that I have to use face app that contain ads if I don't want to pay for a watch. Samsung just just check the free vs the pay no ads.
I think I seen that the 4 classic has 450 ppi but I may be wrong great video anyway.
