I purchased the Frontier and got ZERO complaints. I got a metal band and a rubberized band for workouts as well.

Great review. I love your enthusiasm. I just went from the S2 to the S3 as well and am very happy with the frontier. I thought there was a ton more real estate on the face too, but then I found out it is only .1 inches larger than the S2 classic. It just looks so much bigger with that larger case and larger bezel on it. And regardless of what people think about the strap on the Frontier, it doesn't matter. It is easily changed with any 22mm strap, so whatever you have will work on it. I swap out between the black silicone and a dark blue silicone and a dark brown leather strap all the time. This watch is going to save me a crap ton of money on watches going forward. It is going to be really hard to pick up one of my other watches to wear instead of this one. I'm really loving it.
That bezel is so sweet.
Samsungs team sat and decided to go all out with detail for this model.
also bringing in another 30 year veteran watch designer Ivan Arpa in the mix. The detail design, materials with Samsung technology is perfect.
So many features on this watch. I don't understand how proud Sy this is expensive for what you are getting. Other companies would be charging an arm and a leg if they can make a watch like this.
The speaker on that watch....what a bonus.
The wider band from the frontier makes the classic look so much better! I like the look of the classic more - when it has a wider band where the strap meets the watch (with the frontier rubber band like you demonstrated).

People still look at me crazy when I use Samsung pay. And then I found out you could hold the device close to the chip reader so it really works everywhere

the flexibility gets better after a couple days, I don't even remember the band being a problem, so I'm sure it goes away fast

Everyone seems to like the frontier more but I had to get the classic. I don't care much for the numbers printed around the face and the compass looking lines on the frontier. Looks more outdoors like and the classic looks professional or as the name suggests, classy. I didn't watch many reviews before buying my watch so I didn't know the straps would be different but I was happy the classic came with genuine leather. I still gotta get some more straps including a metal one but I love leather, and I definitely prefer that out of the box
I got the frontier but mine super laggy like when going into text messages it takes forever to go into it. Also are the screen sizes the same on the classic and the frontier

bezel is also kinda interchangeable and classic with frontier bezel looks amazing
I just bought the S3 classic a few days ago and I thought the same thing about the leather band but what you have to remember is leather has to be broken in and once it's broken in that leather is really nice and soft. it's kind of like leather shoes you have to wear them for a bit to get comfortable

Just picked up the Gear S3 yesterday. It is everything I hoped it would be. Works flawlessly with my ZTE ZMax Pro. Any one looking for a used unlocked Gear S for cheap, let me know! lol

I'm glad they added a bit more WEIGHT into them, i really hate those "ultra-light weight" watches.
I want them big and with some weight. I'm just not sure to get classic or the frontier.
I guess I have the Frontier, didn't know they had a classic. I just like the Frontier model so that is what I purchased. It does have a speaker for sure as it talked to me the other day and it startled me, I didn't expect that.
had the gear s2 loved it, kinda buggy at times but still funtional and the size was small for someone with bigger wrists. now i just bought the gear s3 frontier and love everything about it battery life, screen, bezel, design, and software are all great. Imho the frontier looks 100x better than the classic which is why i purchased the frontier.

Ordered Frontier. Bring on the full review, this is my first smart watch. I need the details. LOVE that friend exercise feature. I used it on my Fit2. Now, if they would release the next phone with color matching ear buds and charger. I know...I'm petty, but I have a lot of those white cords. Make it match the phone please.

I checked Macy's (they happen to sell Samsung watches in their jewelry department) and even though I thought they would have it since not many people I know go to Macy's for a Samsung watch, they didn't have it either. Samsung.com seems to be the only place that has it, but I can only imagine the wait I would have to endure just to get the watch.
i literally just went to best buy for black friday and got the s3 classic...granted it was the last one...
Too bad that the S3 Classic is no longer available. I think I may have purchased the last one and had to look hard to find it. I agree the band that came on the Classic detracted from the overall appearance, perhaps even affecting sales. I replaced mine with a stainless steel bracelet with CURVED ends and it looks superb, worn casual or formal. The curved ends add a more finished look to the watch but it takes a bit more effort to install. The Frontier as well as the newer Galaxy seem more focused on a sporty look to my eyes. The Classic has a round case which looks much better than the bump outs on the Frontier and Galaxy imo.

+Andrew Michael I've done leather & metal in the past. Both of them looked nice in a suit. In my upcoming video I've got a couple different bands so you'll be able to get an idea.

Man why can't the frontier have the round knobs instead of the buttons, it looks more of a classic than the classic the only thing throwing it off is those buttons

It's silly to have the Minute marks on the frontier if you're using a digital watch face.

Just now watching this video, and HPA = Unit of measurement. In this case it has to do with Weather. Better yet, it stands for "HectoPascal." As in the case of Barometric Pressure.
I have them both. The classic is the watch. its feels much lighter even though its only 3 or 4 grams less, and looks much slimmer even though they they are both 12.9mm
The classic is such a beauty compared to the frontier..
But still the frontier has newer versions that fixed the "loose bezel" and the clicky sound it makes.
The classic is very hard to find.
I can live with the loose bezel because the watch is incredibly amazing.
In Israel, Samsung official only has the frontier, they have the classic on stand for people to see but they don't sell it!

I just ordered my Gear S3 Classic from B&H. I was thinking that maybe I should get some cool 22mm bands because I'm not a fan of the bands on the Classic.
"Barometer" is pronounced, bah-raw-muh-thur. HpA is hectapascals, a unit of measurement for pressure.

I've had my Frontier for 2 days and I 💘 it even though it's Big on my little wrist. I'm trying to deal. The Classic looks smaller but if it don't have LTE what's the Point.
got my frontier. its very nice i cant lie. i liked the bezel and all but it easily got scratched when i accidentally bumped it on something i don't even remember when i was training at gym. i think they used a material to a sports watch that isn't meant for sports?

I'm just wondering if I wear this all day long will I be able to "feel" the watch on my hand? I noticed its considerably bigger and im just concerned it will kinda feel heavy.
+Andrew Michael I would say no. Unless your doing push-ups or something where your hands bend all the way back. So far I've got no complaints about the fit

I downloaded an input alternative that works a zillion times better than drawing letter by flipping letter or the crappy voice feature: MODALITY.
It's a mind-shift for sure but works once you get used to it (they claim 50wpm). Developed FOR Tizen OS; they didn't even bother with Android since nobody's made an Android-GearS comparable.
Nice hands on. I plan on getting the Frontier. Question... I also have a gear fit2. Does S health combine your total steps if you were to wear the Gear Fit2 at the gym and the Gear S3 afterwards?
I have the same question, from some replies apparently you can't aggregate data from 2 devices unfortunately. Perhaps I'm wrong.

got both the frontier lte and the classic ...the classic definitely looks better though I put a much more rugged leather band with white stitching much nicer than the factory one ...though it isn't a quick release ...

Mine arrives in a couple days and I'm just worried about the quality of the main body housing compared to my Garmin Fenix 3HR Sapphire. Kinda looks like a tacky fingerprint magnet finish unlike the nice turn bezel it has.
there is a one dollar watch face with clock in middle and then like 8 shortcut icons ....best by far. so you don't rotate it too much ...
night and day between s2. feels like several generations difference...the s2 looks like a girls watch in comparison and battery is not what Samsung claims but that's to be expected of any company's battery claims...if you use always on display it will be a big battery drain though it's way better than s2 under the same conditions ...under stand alone 4g battery will drain very fast ...wouldn't use always on if you use it on that mode.
Samsung pay on this works great
love how you rotate bezel when answering or rejecting call. speaker phone is much better than s2.

+eric golden usually any time you put a metal or leather band on a watch it looks far than a rubber band. & Any 22 mm band is compatible so you can buy them anywhere
