      Yes it is. I once talked to a 10 year old that was working at his parents’ taco stand. He was so dedicated. I asked him what he wants to be when he grows up. He said “a rancher”. I was so impressed. It turned out his dad is a rancher. The mom runs the taco stand and a catering business. The little boy said he works on the weekends and was saving money to invest in cattle. It’s beautiful to see kids working to make their dreams reality.

    Just watched this. I'm a 60 yr. Old Virginian who grew up on a horse farm. I'm not a fan of horses, they're beautiful and powerful, I honor their presence. And to many, they are therapy. "Horse people" are wonderful and connected. If people care for any other species, besides their own, it is a sense of meditation. It keeps you in touch with all of Nature. I hope you guys prosper in your dreams. The east coast is full of horse communities. Wyoming and Montana, bless them, get alot of the Cowboy allcolades, but, its everywhere. Reach out, to communities all over. Horse lovers are everywhere. I'm prayful you get the support you deserve. Back to Nature, regardless where you are. Also, there's a Cowboy community in Philly. Link up. This is beautiful. Good luck.

    I would definitely recommend these type of learning programs for troubled youth than the Government detention homes. The ranching life seems to teach the value of labor but also the means of responsibility becoming a mature individual. If time with my kids were limited due to work I'd send them to Connecting Compton (or similar programs) just to keep their minds occupied by good morals rather than the streets.

    First off, I love love LOVE what these guys are doing. I am old now (over-54), but I have owned and trained horses as a hobby for thirty years. One of my big dreams when I was in my 20's and 30's while living in Wyoming, was to someday own a place where inner city kids could come live and work and decompress in summer. (Glad to hear Chris Cox is taking on some youngsters!) I never did get that dream ranch on my nurse's salary, but in my own little way and in my own little arena we've been giving community kids free riding and horsemanship lessons.
    Second, one of these guys' horses looked to have DSLD (dropped fetlock) on one foreleg when I watched it loping (but not when standing/walking). It was obvious enough I cringed. I don't want to call them out, but they might want to get a professional opinion. Once fetlocks drop you have three options: 1.) ride the horse until it is so lame and in pain that you take it to auction where it will be bought by a kill-buyer and sent to Mexico or Canada for slaughter 2.) Put it out to pasture as a retiree and maybe use as a teaching horse for very little kids to learn how to groom and saddle (not ride) 3.) Have a vet euthanize the poor horse.
    Third, these guys might really love a song by Dave Stamey called, "The Vaquero Song." They will relate to the history, especially in California. ruclips.net/video/zuPCmEn5l9g/видео.html

    I wish we could get the Compton political folks to get on board and get that equestrian experience up and running. I would also love to see some of the kids that belong to the different gang members that Peter has already introduced us to, those kids would probably love the horses. People have no idea how perceptive horses can be, that's why they work so well with at risk kids. I wish someone could contact Kevin C and get him to move mountains and get this party started. This is a fantastic video. Thank you for opening all of our eyes and hearts.

    The horse thing truly is the antidote for pent up energy. Transformed into mellow and good. I have never been comfortable in Los Angeles, but I have tried. Now, what you show us here...that works. Really wise. Horses are a therapy I'm just dying for...back to my roots in Latin America riding horses again. That's about tops on my short bucket list. And to have a trained house cat again too. Thanks again.

    I stayed with a family in Compton who had originally migrated there from El Salvador and they were the most kindest and humble people ever. The man of the house took my wife and I and our daughter and my best friend on one of the greatest tours of South Central and we ate at San Pedro at a sea food restaurant that was out of this world. I'll never forget that time and I will always have deep respect for the family that took care of us for a while until we could get back home. I always heard horror stories about how dangerous South Central was and if you are white you better not go there but I walked all over the place and interacted with tons of people there and I never felt scared at all. My opinion is you can find trouble anywhere if you are looking for it but if you are respectful and not act a fool then you will be fine just about anywhere you go.

      why would someone call the city about some guy riding a horse , dude if someone wants to ride a horse than its fine , as long as they don't go on any busy road or on the highway its fine , its not any more dangerous than a car , in fact a car is much more dangerous

    • @sinabagherisarvestani8924
      @sinabagherisarvestani8924 Год назад +1

      ya I think its great that they are riding horses , its a lot cooler than riding a car , keep it up man , I don't see any issue with people riding a horse in town but about the poop , that might create some problems , that is the only issue , its not as dirty as dog poop but that issue needs to be seriously looked into , people are going to complain ,

What do theses guys/girls do for a living outside of the city ranch life? Everything about this rings so much joy to my heart. Horses are THE. BEST. THERAPY!!!!!
