Far out past the shopping malls and the city lights sits the o6 Ranch where time has somewhat frozen. Here they're holding onto the traditional ways where the cowboys are up early with the moon still in the sky... spending their days on horseback. Join me as we learn about this fascinating way of life out at the ranch that the local cowboys are fighting hard to preserve.

19:00 , dude I used to own a pair of cowboy boots , their great but its too formal for me , I don't like dressing too formal , I prefer the basketball sneakers over the cowboy boots but I've seen some cool cowboy boots made of all types of skin , I don't like the lizard skin or the snake skin because I'm opposed to the skin and fur trade business , I think it needs to be shut down , but the cowhide ones have some cool designs , especially lucchese , your never suppose to tuck in your boots unless your working at a ranch and your never suppose to wear it with a formal suit and tie , their designed to be causal wear , don't ever tuck in your boots in public unless your moving hay at a ranch , unless you want to look out of place . The Texas rangers are the only law enforcement agency that have cowboy boots but its not a formal dress code , they wear khaki pants and a tie so its not a suit , its more casual wear

This brought tears to my eyes.. I came from a small island 10,000 away from the USA.. I moved first to LA and then moved to TX. Let me tell you, it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. The people are some of the nicest people I’ve met. I met my husband here in TX, she’s right, they’re a gentleman. He always opens the door for me. Please don’t judge them just because they are different than you are. Don’t judge them because they don’t have a college degree. They are some of the smartest people that know how to go through life. Thank you Peter and thank you 06 family. Thank you to all the ranchers and farmers that have been faithful and working hard so that we have food in our table.

Much respect for these ranchers. I am a 7th generation Texan, my family settled in Texas when it was a republic. My family were all farmers, just as tough a life as ranchers. We were produce farmers…provided food for the table all across the state of Texas. My dad was the last of the line to truck farm. Government ran them out of business. However, we retained our land here and I still live in the city I was born in. I’m 70 years old and have spent time traveling from the coast, piney woods, plains to the beautiful mountains of west Texas. I love my heritage and the great state of Texas.⭐️

One thing - if you get a chance (assuming you are still filming) is talk to some of the farmers about how expensive their equipment is and how companies like John Deere are making it impossible to repair their own machinery - There is a huge movement of Right to Repair going on that effects not only farm equipment, but everyday items like cell phones, computers, any modern appliance. Check out Louis Rossman's videos on the topic.

My husband grew up on a small cattle farm in Arkansas. His dad taught school (as did his mom) by day and worked the farm evenings/mornings, and summers. His dad was a cowboy, riding his horse and using cattle dogs to move the cattle, until cancer made it too difficult to ride the horse, so my husband built a dune buggy off of a VW Bug chassis and frame. His dad worked the farm long past retirement from teaching, and did so until he had a stroke in his 70s and passed a week later. My husband’s character and work ethic were deeply shaped by life on the farm. I would say that all people who make their life and livelihood close to the land are some of the best this country has to offer.

The family reminds me of my grandparents who lived a similar lifestyle, real cowboys. My grandfather was a mounted sheriff, a game warden, he had a small horse ranch and a number of businesses in Nevada. My great grandmother was a pony express rider in AZ and NV. These kinds of people are getting fewer and fewer. Hard working, straight shooters who are self reliant and fighting to keep a part of America that is quickly being lost. More people need to get out of the city and experience life on a farm, ranch or rural physical work. Learn where their food comes from and many other things they take for granted. And understand why these folks need to be preserved and protected because so much more is lost than just the family farm or ranch. These folks represent a connection to our heritage, the freedoms we created a nation and so many have died to give the rest of us, and without whom most of us would just be indentured drones.

i've lived in suburbia and a farm, the farm life is something special, you work for your family, cuts and soreness are badges of hard work and effort. I've had to track sheep down during the night, sleep in a tree with a riffle, build barns, butcher, plant and harvest crops and work like hell. Farming and ranching teach you to work hard. I went from a c average student to an A student while being a farmer because you realize that if you work hard now it's easier in the future. you work hard today and it means one less hole to dig, one less tree to cut one less cow to move tomorrow.

I love that lifestyle. I go up to a cattle here by Yosemite. I watch them brand and all. Love it! There’s nothing like it. I grew up in NY and NJ and I wish I’d grown up on a ranch or in the mountains. It touches my soul being around that way of living. ♥️

Looking forward to the rest of this series. I lived on a historical ranch for just over a year. Working with horses and cattle. It's a lot more work than what the city life offers but your disconnected from the chaos of modern society and connected to something special.

Maddie from Dallas has a nature that makes her a wonderful ambassador for healthy meat protein. Some folks get so offended by vegans and anti meat protein sentiment, they forget to talk to and educate people about food and explain how they are misinformed! Cattle grazing land makes up an abundance of open space across the globe.

I really love their lifestyle! Being on open land with a horse is one my life goals and I think it's really cool they hurd the cows like that at the same time. This is pure skill and hardwork, respect and god bless to the Cowboys, Cowgirls, and you Peter! 🙏❤

Love this series - so glad you are doing it. So many times, I hear political people talking about fly over country as being dumb and not as smart as they are. Hope through your series people on the coasts can see the intelligence it takes and how dumb they look and sound to the rest of us when they denigrate more than half the country. Thanks again - loving this series.

I was born and have lived on the west coast my entire life. I now live in Nevada so not quite as coastal but I still love Oregon (born) and California (spent 20 years there, in the Bay Area, Marin County). I spent most of my life in California. I guess I object to the broad generalizations of myself, my family and friends as being arrogant snobs, in the same way that the "fly over' people hate being thought of as ignorant. I have never thought that, I went to college in the Midwest, some of the greatest friends and greatest years of my life. I like to learn about people which is why I love Peters videos. Thing, situations and people are not always what you think and that goes both ways. We say "they" and "them" much too often.

Bless these ranchers. They are the salt of the earth. As someone who grew up butchers cows and pigs it’s wonderful to see it from the ranchers perspective because we only got the end product. We just picked out the cow or pig after they already raised it.
