I like the mechanical improvements you're thinking about doing, but to be honest I wouldn't touch the exterior, it already looks stellar with those wheels! But of course, the car is yours, do what you like. I own a W124 in that same color, and the build quality of these cars is second to none... Enjoy it!
Personally I love the Evo one kit, possibly with an Evo 2 front bumper. Did you see Hedgehogs Motor Sport do a carbon bonnet or should I say hood and boot lid too?

French Hella Headlights what a score, I've been running the same OEM OVP relay since 1996 the aftermarket ones tend to fail more frequently.
