bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) is a DNA construct, based on a functional fertility plasmid (or F-plasmid), used for transforming and cloning in bacteria, usually E. coli.[1][2][3] F-plasmids play a crucial role because they contain partition genes that promote the even distribution of plasmids after bacterial cell division. The bacterial artificial chromosome's usual insert size is 150-350 kbp.[4] A similar cloning vector called a PAC has also been produced from the bacterial P1-plasmid.
BACs are often used to sequence the genome of organisms in genome projects, for example the Human Genome Project. A short piece of the organism's DNA is amplified as an insert in BACs, and then sequenced. Finally, the sequenced parts are rearranged in silico, resulting in the genomic sequence of the organism. It would not be wrong to say that I appeared in almost all of my subjects in this semester finals learning from you. Thank u so much
Every time i would like to say that those who are good they ARE good we dont need to call them good because.A quality of betterness still remain fluctuating from them that is you sir.!
the f prime that u defined here is diff. from the one u defined in last video
Great young teacher. Your videos should spread between students like viruses😉
Thank you for appreciating my efforts
Your welcome
Thank You Sir, your explanation was very very helpful.
You're welcome
Hi there, thanks for the video! Do you also have one about P1 Artificial Chromosomes (PACs) ?
Good explanation, but a BAC is not exactly a cromosome is a plasmid because it replicate externaly to the cromosome.
this is the great serve
Itz very good cls
Sir , this biotechnology portion need detail explanation but here not minimum sufficient ..... please cover topics in detail
can u plz tell me about...... what is difference between YAC and BAC?....plz i can't understand..
Guddi Patel
YAC(usually linear)=plasmid+yeast's genes required for replication+gene of interest
BAC(usually circular)=f'(plasmid+bacterial chromosome)+gene of interest
correct me if I am wrong.
What happens to the cells that are not transformed...How do you differentiate them from the transformed cells cont. gene of interest??
thank u Mr Suman for such a helpfull video
Thank you so much for this video
You're welcome
Sir, PLEASE tell the some example of BAC
I think u shud make an app of shomu 's biology
very informative
What is the name of the BAC vector used? @shomu
Sir Hindi m bhi video bna lo
বোর্ডে লিখে শেখানো যায় না????
You're a great teacher but your accent is just too hard to understand. Thanks anyway.
