I upgraded to the ultra watch 2 weeks ago. I was using an Apple Watch Series 6. What a huge upgrade for me I’m loving it. Im never going back to a smaller Apple Watch.
Took the plunge and got the Ultra 2 instead of the Series 9. I think the durability alone was worth it. My SE already had some significant battle scars after a year of use.
“You don’t have to be an adventurer or outdoor enthusiast to own this watch”. There’s the most obvious statement I’ve heard in a while. The majority of people that own an ultra probably never do any physical activity beyond walking to and from their car at work and the grocery store. Lol
Totally agree only reason i own the ultra is due to that I work as maintenance crew at a golf course so the materials that its made of makes it so i won’t have to deal with scratches on the screen. I had the nike edition think series 4 or 3 barely used it due took it to work for one day got scratch up on a day i had a pretty easy day so i would only use it after work or if i would go out.
Upgrading from the series 6 - really excited. Although the series 6 served me well, the issue was the battery and smaller screen was a bit too small for me. So excited!
I bought my Apple Apple Watch Ultra 2 today. I got the white ocean band with it. Yes it is bigger. It is thicker but it has a bigger battery and a better screen. I think it is a nice looking watch. And I hope you all enjoy your Apple Watch and would think about the Apple Watch Ultra too because it really is rugged and it really is a nice looking.
thank you for the video great information. I have the series 8 but I have never owned a cellular watch. I'm not a fan of carrying my phone on walks or working out. I'm getting the ultra 2 for a test drive.
I went from the original watch to the ultra 2 (yes I know, I waited a long time). Such a huge difference and definitely worth the upgrade. Main selling point for me was the cellular option, if they never made that possible I would've never bought it lol.
Almost forgot, I’m an aircraft mechanic and durability is definitely a must, didn’t use the original Apple Watch that much while at work. I hope this one is strong.
They'll have to admit that there is a problem, and they've yet to do that. Returned mine when their support folks lied and said it's not a known issue.

My ultra 2 turned up today. Haven’t got the double tap yet as that’s coming in next update but it performs much faster and Siri is a lot faster too. Small change but for me, I think it was worth the upgrade. I came from OG AWU.

Can you use the double tap hand gesture to accept 3rd party MFA push notifications like Duo (push)? I would buy this in a heartbeat if I didn't have to wait for the notification and tap my watch screen to accept the Duo MFA Prompt. I log into many MFA servers daily and would love to hand double tap my MFA.

Nice review and information. Sadly Apple didn't do any favors for anyone in this offering. Nobody I know was asking for a brighter screen or double tap. Both of these seem like useless updates and offerings from Apple. What I do know, is people I know were asking for extra battery life, even if only another days worth. I feel like this is nothing more than a money grab from Apple on this one. Maybe the next offering will be more of what people really want and are looking for. Apple, you can do better.
I always wondered why the bezels are so big on the Apple Watch Ultra 1&2 I want a whole display like the smart tvs have if that makes sense make the bezels smaller
I am fully in the Apple ecosystem, had the last Ultra Watch. I switched to a real GARMIN Epix Pro because its the better and more complete sportwatch. Sad the Ultra II isn't turning me back in.
I have both, Epix 2 and Ultra 2, but I end up wearing all the time the AWU2, and I still love and keep Garmin when I'm going on multi day hike etc. The metrics of Garmin are relevant to elite athletes, and they do great here, for most of us posting here the "wannabe" athletes only doing a few occasional runs and gym workouts, AW is more convenient with slick integration and UX imo. I use Athlytic for recovery measurements, and it's very fine.

Hi there! How long does it take to dry the trail loop when it gets wet? I ordered the ocean band but now i am not sure because of the bulky and heavy design… always get wet band by washing hands and it takes ages to dry… nice greetings from Austria 🇦🇹 😊
No it shouldn’t! Take it back and demand a repair or replacement! I wouldn’t buy that crap! Next time Try either the Garmin Epix pro watch or Huawei watch ultimate voyage blue.

Am I the only one who thinks 18 hours of battery life for all the stuff that Apple Watch does is perfect? Maybe because of don’t use it at home very much, but with 36 hours, you’ll end up running out in the middle of the day on the second straight day you wear it 😂
I stick with my fitbit sense 2. It's lighter, does pretty much everything this thing does AND its much lighter and last 5 days on a charge. Spending outrageous money on this fancy schmanzy Apple watch is just stupid in my view.
And the apple ultra killer is ‘Huawei watch ultimate voyage blue’ which blows this out of the water. However there is a catch Huawei customer service is practically non existent over email only! Good luck with that! I’ve had first hand experience and because of their poor customer service I wouldn’t buy their products again! But the watch is absolutely a head turner. They have used high quality materials unlike the cheap titanium which is easily chipped on the Apple ultra. Is Apple going carbon neutral or are they using this as an excuse to charge you extortionate prices whilst maximising their profits! So, it looks like we’re back to take a bite of the rotten apple marketed to sell at a premium.
I just bought it & IT’s NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH! It’s pathetic. I am going back to Android’s Wear OS! I regret buying this! The flashlight level of brightness CONFIRMS it can be brighter. But when the flashlight is OFF the level of brightness dramatically lowers AND THAT IS w/the level MAXED OUT!

Paid off series 3 years ago, since I was in college, thinking about treating myself to the new ultra 2! Why the hell not?
Love mine especially the size and weight of it. For fishing dives it’s pretty neat as well.
Salty I got my ultra the first day it came out last year and now there is the new one and I don’t really think it’s enough to upgrade to this one .

Double tap in Third party apps should perform the primary action of the notification.

That only works for cycling (indoor and outdoor) workout types so far.

Yep, its brighter. Drop another 900 dollars on a new Watch Ultra just to say, "its brighter".
The Ultra 2 cellular does NOT work when iPhone is off UNLESS you toggle off WiFi and Bluetooth on the watch.
The ultra 1 and 2 are almost 100% unnoticeably different unless you do double tap. To say one is faster than the other is nonsense.

Only for the precision finding with the new ultra wide band chip. Otherwise you just ping your phone with the usual method (audio!)

Apple Ultra II is a POS. I like my other Apple devises but quickly found out why Apple Ultra II is not re-turntable. These things suck, do not buy!
