Tip 7 is on point…..calibration is the key to getting the indoor run perfect.
watched 8seg of the vid and got the info I wanted, bless you
Chest strap is also essential for weight training as holding a tight grip around a bar will alter blood flow past the wrist leading to an inaccurate measurement from the optical HR sensor.
Great video! There is literally nobody else providing the information you provide. Thank you.
THANK YOU! What info should I provide next?
um, apple???
Hi man! I recently found your channel and I really enjoy your content. Especially the fact that you incorporate science in many of your videos so that we actually see the real numbers. I just recently got an apple watch myself and am trying to change my lifestyle. It's an exciting world and your videos definitely inspires me. Thank you!
Well done on the HRV! Keep it up.
This is amazing❤ thanks for sharing!
Love these videos mate! Ever thought of making a video on the best gadgets/apps/tech that syncs with apple health? Keep up the good work boss!🤙🏼
great idea! I'll add to my list
I have had my Applewatch and iPhone for a few days now and I am totally thrilled.
A great tip to set up a focus mode called training, Account automatically play music list Who can call you or text you other stuff too that’s great for not being disturb during workout session.
Thanks for that.
Unlock with apple watch helps a ton! Ty!
Any specific apple watch you would recommend for someone who doesn't have one yet? I'm an avid gym goer and have always thought about getting one, just not sure which one to go with out of all the options.
Any idea what the difference between HIIT, Cross Training, and Functional Fitness are on the watch app? Which is best for CrossFit, or does it even matter?
I love your Ultra band. Who makes it and where did you get it? Thanks!
Awesome tips sir, do you have similar information for other brands, for example Huawei Watch ?
I wish that there was a way to use walking and wheelchair settings at once: I go between using crutches and a manual wheelchair in places like stores and I wish it had a setting since there are several folks who do this.
Man, this video and the Calorie one is great stuff.
So when I’m running my watch pauses, same when I’m doing work outs in the gym I now use another app but do you think it’s because I have tattoos on my left wrist where I wear my watch
Very helpful! Thank you!
May you please share the scale name? I do have a smart scale but can’t connect it with the health app
Learned so much here, had no idea I could switch the orientation of the watch (crown facing your hand as a lefty.) You didn’t cover it in the video, but I saw the way you were wearing it, and I was like oh hell yeah fixing that now!
Oh yes! Didn’t realize that was not known
When paired with a HRM like the H10, can you take the Apple Watch off and still record? For Boxing/MMA for example…
Great video! Didn’t know about calibration. One thing I think you should include though… regularly updating your body measurements in the health app. I believe they tie into an accurate calorie burn calculation.
that is...quite literally the first thing he mentioned? like literally tip 1 lmao...
which apple watch do you have and where did you get that yellow band from?
Good job on this video.
YOU ~ ROCK ! ! 🤛
How do you get the Apple Watch to track cardio fitness I just bought the series 9 and it says no data for cardio fitness do I have to do something else
Did they get rid of the gps locking icon when you start a run? I have a ultra 2 and that doesn’t appear when I start a run
Is the Apple fitness app on the phone accurate in terms of pedometer and calories burned?
So what happens if you use Gymkit but the treadmill hasn't been calibrated in a while. Could provide inaccurate data? Obviously this is not specific to the apple watch but something to keep in mind
Can you emphasize an actual wireless weightscale for apple health?
Will my MyZone chest strap be compatible w/Apple watch series 9? Thx 🙏
Many tips for powerlifters that use wrist wraps ? I flip my watch to about mid forearm and it pauses my workouts continuously so therefore i cant measure energy exerted in squat and bench
A possibility to manually calibrate the kilometers on the watch on the treadmill at the touch of a button would be fantastic with the Apple ultra ❤
My watch 7 is intermittent reading heart rate. Usually above 100BPM. I do wear a strap but it didn’t work. It seems the Bluetooth on my watch is different version to my old strap. Note that heart rate associated with doing EKG is different method. Holding the button closes a circuit between your finger and watch on your other wrist.
Can’t figure out how to get heart rate calls since the watchOS update. For the most part the update has done nothing for me but move everything around like my local grocery store I know where nothing is anymore
Do you recommend adjusting your weight by 7kg down in the settings so that the calorie burned doesn’t overestimate it too much? Because the less you weigh the less calories you burn?
ShervinJan, One issue I have is quite odd…. I wear a Fitbit Versa 4 as well and use it with my Apple Watch to audit each other. When running Apple Watch seems to count about 15% more distance than the Fitbit, but when walking it’s the opposite… any ideas?
In the fitness program there’s more choice running pace how can to activate it??
Because I tried to activate it bu he ne more data which data they means?
If there any way how i can set some limit of hurt rate when apple watch start alarm me that i need to chill down?
I love your videos on the Apple Watch! And I love my Apple Watch - now an ultra 2. 😊
THANK YOU
Stumbled upon this video thanks. I’m trying to improve my heart function.
What’s the difference between funcional fitness and cross training? For crossfit 🤔
Thanks Shervin. I was on the cusp of selling my AWU as I’ve just bought a Garmin Epix. I’ll keep them both now.
uh oh hahah
@@ShervinShares don’t laugh at me brother! It gets worse…as soon as money allows I’m getting an ice bath too!! 😆
I really enjoy your vids…sharing knowledge and making those shares fun and entertaining
I finish a workout, then my Ultra alerts me to start the workout. Extremely accurate 😂
Got a new SE 2 and while standing still drying my hair it said I did almost 100 steps. :/ Same problem I had years ago and returned two watches even after calibration. How the heck do you avoid this? Its the same when standing baking or cooking. so irritating.
I really love & respect your content Shervin.
You are one of my go-to health guys and you're definitely my go-to wearable guy.
My other go-to health guys are ..
- KBoges for Calisthenics
- Nick Bare for Hybrid-Training
- Jeremy Ethier for Weight-Training
Also, you introduced me to Vivobarefoot and Whoop.
Big Mahalo Player!
Which scale do you use please
I used it as armband during weight training, it’s surprisingly accurate 🤣
woah that's cool
Hey in your health section you forgot to blur when you clicked on each category. Might be able to cover/edit in yt studio

Just noticed that
lol, came here to laugh at this fact
All this time I thought he was in his forties. 💀
Can’t use wrist detection because apple workouts doesn’t work correctly on my wrists because I have tattoos. Every other workout app works fine but I like using the Apple workout one and I always forget to turn it on and off. Wish they made it easier to automatically or manual turn it on and off during workouts.
Thank you for sharing this information! I have no tattoos but I have friends who do…
Great video! Could you possibly make a video about making your Apple Watch as accurate as possible for open water swims? I cannot seem to get it to work right like a garmin watch. Recalibration doesn’t seem to work as well.
i'm scared of fish in open water, but i can try haha
Hey man love the videos.. I think a good video idea is to how to properly calibrate your move goals to compete against friends. I cant find any good/accurate videos on how to make it so competition amoungst friends of differeant weight/sex is even and competitve. Not sure if there is even a way but if there is I havent found it and would love to know!
that's a great idea!
Wish they would add a rucking workout option so my VO2 max data wouldn’t be trash
As someone with a full sleeve tattoo on my watch-arm, I do struggle with it locking itself constantly if I don’t have it on the one small ink-free spot. I also have to wear it more tight that I would prefer to, so it doesn’t move from that spot 😅 so good point
Same boat !!
good to know!
Same, they need to fix this!
@@ericmendoza9305minority gets less priority
I have turned off that setting so it can’t lock any more
my main issue is that it keeps pausing during workouts even though I also have those settings off & think it’s due to my tattoos too
😂you are so good! And funny😂
Run 20 minutes? After 3 minutes i’m half dead
Can u do the same video but for the whoop band
Hey man - try the polar H10 as an alternative HRM.
Which scale?
that smile at 6:46, I didn't miss it 🤫
Can you suggest the scale you use to measure your weight, which auto syncs with the Apple Watch? Updating my weight is something I always tend to forget to do even though I weigh myself every single day. This would be a life saver.
He already did a video on biometric scales. I have the Renpho one. It’s kinda the worst one out there but syncs fine and in athlete mode it is close as anything out there.
I use xiaomi mi scale 2 its auto syncs with the apple health
Withings
I don't use wrist detection and the watch does send me stand notifications.
What’s a good Bluetooth scale.
There is a way to use your, Apple Watch if you have a sleeve tattoo…I use 1in/25mm Clear Round Epoxy Resin Dome… didn’t know there was a issue with tattoos until I 3-4 watches in…
Is it necessary to pause the training in the training application while I rest between sets when I am strength training so that it measures my calories more accurately?
You can mark segments as well.
That’s funny. Many times I have to switch my watch to the bottom of my wrist because either it does not read my BP at all or it reads lower than it actually is.
Wait why doesn’t my ultra show the gps status when starting a workout??
SIAP. I wear two watches as well. COROS vertex and Ultra 2.
Can you do this for a galaxy watch?
you mentioned Mind/Body for sauna, can the apple watches handle the heat/environments of a sauna?
Yea for sure
Nice video,
And your moustage is great!
thank you!
I noticed you wear Garmin on one wrist and AWU on the other. How does that work and how do you prevent confusion when both devices transfer their data to iPhone? I have been using AWU but I bought an Epix Pro today to use for open water swimming and pool swim training (AWU's open water swim gps is not reliable and doesn't support structured pool workouts). How can I use both device efficiently and without any conflicts or duplicate data?
I sync both to Apple Health & if you're switching wearing the two. it shouldn't conflict since all your data will be synced to Apple Health after your workouts are complete
@@ShervinShares I heard that Garmin Connect doesn't export GPS data to Apple Health, so the workout map and GPS data do not appear on Healthfit or Apple Health. Is there a workaround to this? or is it updated and Garmin connect export the map nowadays?
@@CanInelli HealthFit app might be the best workaround for this?
HealthFit App doesn't get data from Garmin Connect. How do you connect Healthfit to Garmin? I don't see Garmin option in Healthfit settings.@@ShervinShares
I’m one of your kids that you don’t know about. This video is so good, I was going to add some tips but you touched on all of my ideas. You bastard. 😂
LOLOL oh no! haha thank you
Even with all the correct settings on and I calibrate the watch doing outdoor runs. The treadmill runs are so off. I’ll run at 8:30 pace on the treadmill and on the watch I don’t hit a mile till 10:00 and sometimes it can be 10:30 . Is there any way to fix this!?
Love ur videos by the way!
best tip is to get a foot pod connected to Apple Watch. that'll get more accurate distances. This is the best in market right now
Stryd Pod: stryd.live/ShervinShares
I’ve heard if you have your phone it will use that data for movement if your watch isn’t moving but your phone is?
possibly!
Hey! What Apple Watch workout do you choose for an AirBike? Thanks!
indoor cycling might be the closest thing
What’s the smart scale you use that integrates with apple health? Reply please
Withings Body Cardio and their BP cuff work great with lots of extra stats
I just had eye surgery and have been stuck in doors for a week. My ultra today decided that I did a 10 minute workout and climbed 8 flights within an out. I don’t think I was out of bed yet. 🍎
11:00 how are you getting that GPS Lock arrow and status, please explain how to activate this feature. Thanks
activation "precision start" under settings -> workout. it's only available on Ultras
@@ShervinShares Thanks, I have the Ultra 2, also I just discovered while in the same settings, the ability to toggle on the pause feature that has been throwing off some of my really good trail runs because of it pausing by hitting the digital crown I’ve been using water lock feature on my trail runs to prevent the unwanted pausing, now I don’t have to because the pause has been toggled off, which now allows my digital crown to never pause my workouts. 😁
*He blurred if he's in a wheelchair or not. I guess we will never know...*
Do you have to be outdoors for the walk?
Full sleeve and the watch works for me.
Bombas socks are one of the best socks I ever wore. What workout would you choose if you sit on a ball and bounce on it as you sit on it my Apple Watch starts tracking a walk workout in the background
hmmm i dont know for that one!
You have only an option to manually delete the false HRV values! After that the recovery data will of course change.
good to know!
I’ve been using Apple Watches since the Series 2 and they’re amazing but they collect all this data and don’t really do anything with it other than trending notifications every now and then. I bought a Forerunner 265 and I prefer my Apple Watch S8 in terms of user experience but with a Garmin it feels like I can make informed decisions on my health with the data. My question is, I only run and do strength training 3-4 times a week and yet you’re way more athletic than me and prefer and Apple Watch. Am I missing something? I love having one device without subscriptions that I can use for workouts
Agreed! I appreciate my Apple Watch but I feel it could do so much more with all these datas it collects...
@@mb-iu4wh 100%. There is a gap in the market when it comes to iOS to create an app similar to Garmin Connect. This morning, after doing a 3 mile run yesterday and a 30 minute strength training session in the evening, my Garmin Forerunner told me to have a rest day because it looked at the data and knew my body needs to recover. It also gives me so many insights into my health and what to do to improve things. I could run a marathon and the next day my AW would say "make sure you close your rings today!"
i love that it's a phone & fitness tracker. what are examples of decisions that you make based on your Garmin? what data specifically do you use from it?
@@ShervinShares I just wanted to say that I'm a huge fan of your channel by the way, so I hope my comment didn't come across like I was being arsey. I'm no where near as serious as you when it comes to fitness but I want to up my game and get back into half marathons. I've only been wearing it for 2 weeks but it recommends specific workouts or rest days, I can ensure I get a nice split of anaerobic/aerobic exercise, it gives me predictions on race times, monitors stress and I can even do training plans too. Some of the above can be done via the AW but it requires a myriad of different apps. I just wish Apple did more with the data it collected and you were less reliant on third party apps. The actual UX of Apple Watches are second to none. When I first used my Garmin, it felt like I'd gone back in time. Circling back to my original question, I guess I was just curious as you're far fitter and a better runner than me. Maybe I'm just overthinking it all.
ps I just got into work and I'm not feeling 100% and I have a load of deadlines due today. My watch just pinged me a message to say that it can tell I'm a little more stressed than normal and it recommended me to do some breathwork.
i did notice that when you’re pushing a stroller it doesn’t track your steps. i had 3,500 steps and my sister had 10,000 steps. we walked the exact same at the same time and the same speed and because she never touched the stroller, i didn’t get to track all of that.
Same issue here. My workaround is to start a outdoor walk with open goal. This will track it too
start an outdoor walk so it uses more sensors to measure your walk! or else passively it uses less sensors & captures less steps
@@ShervinShares i hadn’t known that until i watched your video lol and thank you for the tip!
How do you show that gps arrow on your workout. I have the ultra 2 and I don’t see an option to add that so I can know when my gps has my location before a run.
Like to know this as well, I checked all settings in my AWU2 ..could it be so quick to lock on that we don't see it ?
enable "Precision Start" in Workout settings
@@ShervinShares awesome thank you
@@ShervinShares it worked. Thanks!
Is there anyway to have the apple watch say every mile you walk when wearing your airpods can't get this to work? It will announce it on the watch but not in the headphones weird.
hmmm might have to connect airpods directly to watch rather than your phone
@ShervinShares You nailed it you need to connect your airpods to the watch thanks!
Shervin, I would like to hear your reaction on HRV false values.
take it all with a grain of salt
That profile pic needs an update 😂
Sir could you please tell me how much space does your apple health app consume on your phone? I just bought an apple watch and I didn't realize that apple had their data stored on your personal space rather than on their servers and I am afraid that it might accumulate to large numbers pretty fast. please reply. thank you!
great question! i think it's only a few GB. i haven't checked
@@ShervinShares if you ever had a chance it would be cool to know, since you actually work out using the watch. Most people have Apple Watch because it was sold to them as a deal from Verizon or some other carrier and they don’t use it for anything but notifications lol :)
My Average hrv/day 70-100 depends on the day.. why's that?
My HRV is an average of 188. Is that normal?
can the watch go in the sauna?
Automagically, I learned a new word! Awesome video as always!
Glad you liked it!
What scale do you use to have it sync of WiFi?
