12"x12" Background from 5"x7" Gel plate

  • I wanted to prove to myself that I could create a 12"x12" background using a 5"x7" gel plate, which I did, then I had the idea that I should doodle on it.
The results were okay however the doodle process was not without its issues.
This video was originally 1.48hrs long so I've heavily edited it taking out any unnecessary footage, I even sped up one section which everyone knows I don't like to do.
I hope the end result is helpful for those with a small gel plate or are going to doddle for the first time on video.
    Happy Crafting

I really appreciate videos like this, where you go out of your comfort zone to try something new. And especially because we are so similar in having anxiety over it " not being " perfect, but loving the imperfect look all at the same time.❤

Love this long video! About the whole punch to draw circles - not cheating, massively clever! Think of it as a stencil, just another part of mixed media 😂Love your idea to draw a white line over the black line - might it be easier with a white gel pen? Even though you didn’t use the idea, I have a feeling I will.

I have watched several of your videos and am always inspired to make things but never actually do! I have discovered that just how creating art helps your anxiety, even though I don't have anxiety issues, just listening to you is calming. Maybe it's the positivity you exude. This isn't always great at 3 am on a work night but can't help watching an hour plus video of you showcasing an ocean canvas I will never attempt but there's just something about you I enjoy. At any rate, I'm commenting on this video because I took the plunge on doodling because of you and have found I enjoyed it a lot even if I'm not great at it (yet). I also purchased gel plates even though I never had an interest in it before. You make it look like so much fun! Lastly and more excitedly, I purchased some of your products from PM and CAN'T wait to get them! Thank you for your videos. Even if I never make anything, you're a joy to watch! ❤❤❤

I think you have done a fantastic job Ceri. You certainly know how to make it tough on yourself by choosing such a large surface to doodle on. Fellow doodlers have said they often walk away from their project to have a break or to get on with other things and it can take them several sittings to complete. Doing this on camera must of been so nerve wracking for you and hopefully you are a lot more relaxed without us watching on. You are brave enough to step out of your comfort zone and the end results are amazing. Well done Ceri.
