    Did you know that the most likely reason Play-Doh is so great at picking up the paint but not transferring it to other surfaces is because it was originally developed as a tool to clean coal dust and soot from wallpaper.
    Turns out it was also pretty great at clearing up sadfaces 😁
    Thanks for the video!

    This is definitely my favorite Gel Printing video ever! I LOVE what happens after we read the instructions and try things the “right” way…and then we say….NOW what?! And what comes next is where the creativity really comes in to play. I LOVE that you combined gel plate with play doh…loved the baskets and then SO many other amazing things. I can just see you trying one thing after the other and looking around for what to try next! Great job. First time watching your channel. ❤️

    • @CreatedandMadeStudios
      @CreatedandMadeStudios  11 месяцев назад

      Hello! Sorry for the delay...I was using 100lb text weight paper with a glossy finish. But, that's just what I had, you can use almost any paper. I use copy paper, graph paper, newsprint, cardstock, book pages - etc. I just wait until the paint is dry to the touch - each brand of paint will have its own drying time. But, its acrylic paint so unless its Golden Open which stays wet for a long time, it will all dry within a few minutes. Thank you!!

      Hi there! I had Covid for the first time 2 weeks ago- I understand! Get well soon :) You know I tried to transfer the paint off of the Play-Doh and it was really hit or miss - mostly miss haha. Something about the dough surface wants to hold on to that paint. I also found it amazing that you could just roll up the Play-Doh and start again and the paint just sort of disappears in there somewhere. I hope you'll try it and thank you!

      Hi there! To be honest, I rely mostly on color theory and the color wheel to pick colors to use. You really cant go wrong there. But I also have some color books like Color Scheme Bible which I turn to when I'm stuck. Also, swatching your colors really helps a lot. I swatch in a lot of ways but the most helpful is when I can hold the swatches next to one another and see how certain colors look together. Hope that helps some. Thank you!

    This is so gooooooddddd!!!!! I'm also thinking about if the playdoh will hold up to grabbing textures from outside - there's some really amazing tile work on a building close to my job. Maybe I can take a tupperware container

    Ok after watching this the only question I’m left with is…. How on earth do you wait for the first layer to dry before pulling the second layer!! I would be too eager to wait!!

    That is so cool! Thanking for sharing. I’ve been doing prints with students. These would be great for them. You should work with your local art teacher. You may already be a teacher.

    This is a game changing technique! 🎉 I am SO EXCITED about this!!! Your brilliant!! Thank you so much for sharing it with us….I’m still in shock & awe that Play Doh doesn’t stick to anything. Now, i don’t have to worry about ruining my supplies!! ✨🤩✨

    Oh my gosh, you are a CREATIVE GENIUS as well as a wonderful instructor!!!! I just bought a couple of gel plates to try out, and as I was searching through my house for potential items to use to create interesting textures, I kept thinking, "Well this would work well but I don't want to ruin it with acrylic paints!" Then I watched this video and realized - problem solved with Play Doh! I just subscribed to your channel and look forward to watching all your other gel plate tutorials. Thank you so much!

    That was amazing! 🥳 A bit like "baking" art, when you rolled the Play-Doh and cut it a.s.o. I also liked the diecut prints very much. The butterflies. Now I have two questions, because you made the video one year ago already: Does the Play-Doh get hard after some time with all that color in it? (I guess you put it back into the plastic container at the end of a printing session) And: Did you already show in a video what you did with all those beautiful prints? I´d really like to know. Thank you 😍, Britta

    WOW! I'm away from home right now, but as soon as I get back to my studio, I'm grabbing playdo and going to town. 1 question; I noticed that there were some crumbling bits left in the tiny words stamp (my very most used TH stamp, btw) did you have any problems removing those? I know I'm going to lose an entire day in the studio playing with this. Thank you Very much for sharing.
