If you eat lots of eggs, buy that rapid egg cooker. I swear by it. Perfect hard-boiled, omelets, poached. And very quick; all steamed. Great appliance.
I have one of the Hamilton Beach egg cookers I got for Black Friday, and it has become my favorite kitchen gadget. It's nice to be able to just whip something up, and while it cooks finish getting ready for the day. It makes breakfast on the go a lot easier.
I have the Dash and it's great. Makes perfect hard boiled eggs for me. Louder buzzer to alert you it's done. Don't unplug it - just press the button to turn off.
If I'm in a hurry I'll put an egg in a coffe mug and put it in the microwave with some garlic and cheese lol. Since its round I can put it on a bagel. Any dish will work 🤷♀️
Really? I bought one of the "specialty" ceramic microwave egg-cookers. It works really well but I had no idea you can just use a ceramic mug! I guess it makes sense, since that's all the egg-cooker is, basically.

You're comparing different products and cooking times, so I'm not sure this is a fair comparison. Comparing the cooking time for a pound (or 12 ounces) of bacon takes time, whereas cooking a 2 egg omelet takes much less...so let's talk about honest tests here.
A little advice buys a bacon crisper tray three rashers of bacon 3 - 5 minutes in the microwave depending on your taste. All this stuff can be brought off Amazon and eBay
Thanks for your demonstrations. It seems like I will use the pots, pans, oven, and toaster that I already have to cook my food. I MIGHT try the omelet thing though. Never have been able to make a pretty omelet!😢
That sandwich maker is completely useless. You didn't cook the bacon there, and you didn't include that time. You can cook 6 eggs in a skillet faster and toast the muffins in a toaster or toaster oven or under the broiler and have breakfast for the whole family ready to go. The omelette maker is also dumb...it's faster on the stovetop. Good for a college student, maybe. Also, microwaved eggs are weird...
my sister got me one of those sammich makers for christmas a couple years ago. i ended up getting the 2x one cuz i liked it so much...plus i can make a bunch at once and freeze 'em.
One thing I sort of feel you could have touched on. The sandwich maker, did the muffin come out crunchy, or soft? Because the egg is going to be producing a lot of moisture and steam, and despite the muffins being on hotplates, there's no way they came out crunchy and not softer than they should have been.
I feel like people seem to think that Americans actually use this stuff. These items are all gimmicky, cheap-o things that ppl rarely use and maybe got as a gift. The one benefit I see to this is that these tools could benefit the elderly that may have a hard time actually cooking. The only thing that seemed okay was the sandwich maker.
These are the kinds of gadgets I get for Christmas that go on to live in the back corner of a closet for years until they get donated away to a Goodwill store

I actually bought the Rapid Egg Cooker a while back, and I absolutely love it to this day. Every week I hard boil 6 eggs for some egg salad, and it makes everything a whole lot easier. Don't have to worry about a stove or getting a pan out, and most importantly, it just stops when it is done. Perfectly cooked and I don't know how they do it, but the shell almost always comes off in one piece.

My sandwich maker is awesome. PS don't use cooking spray. It leaves a nasty residue on heated items that will never come off. Just use a small pat of butter.
Ham, Cheese, Egg, Salsa breakfast burrito in 4-4.5 min in a frying pan. Texas grilled cheese with Bologna in same amount of time. Screw the gadgets. My cast Iron pan is on the stove all day every day.
No, you're not, microwaved bacon IS revolting... Makes me think of the other end of the spectrum, thick cut maple bacon in a cast iron with the eggs as well, mmm...
It doesn't seem fair with bacon usually taking longer to cook than a simple egg but still informative. Also how long did it take you to cook the bacon for the McSandwich?
The comment is that they'd rather not eat microwaved eggs not that you couldn't microwave them. And I fully agree that cooked in the microwave eggs are nasty. To heat them up from a meal, sure. From raw to cooked, ewww no. Spend the extra minutes to cook eggs on the stovetop. If you have no extra time before work or school to cook that's an excuse. Quick foods are just that, quick. Personally I use the microwave only to reheat food. Even TV dinners if I buy them I'll cook in a oven safe dish. Maybe I'm strange.
