Be careful, everyone here, as well as this very good video reviewer, as the teflon rings will begin flaking off onto your food after about a year. One Amazon reviewer mentions how they brought this up with the manufacturer about 12 months after having purchased (just out of warranty period) and the manufacturer essentially told them to go and pound sand. Sadly, the sandwich maker just becomes another trash heap victim of "planned obsolescence" where the makers know that you'll be faced with the decision as to whether or not to buy another one soon thereafter the warranty expires, banking on hopefully you choosing to do so.
It's sort of like a meth dealer knowing the consumer junkie will come back over and over again until he's broke to buy more product. These days, we consumers have seemed to have lost our ground in demanding that manufacturers make a more enduring product. I have a grandmother whose old blender-- while not a great one, but at least a decent one-- has outlasted our Vitamix on which the variable speed knob had "wigged out" after just under ten years of regular use.

Thank you for sharing your insights and experiences with this product. Your story about your grandmother's blender highlights the stark contrast between older, more durable appliances and some modern ones. I appreciate the mention of the claim about the Teflon Rings, and I'm curious if you have any tips or recommendations for alternative sandwich makers or kitchen appliances that prioritize durability and reliability. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Good review! I often wish James would try a few more creative fix options before making his final assessment, but you did it! What I was really waiting for, though, was for you to taste each one and tell me if you liked how it tastes. One of your commenters mentioned his/her/their opinion that a pan would be easier. I would have liked to know if you enjoyed your experience with the device, and if you though you might continue using it. Or if you felt it might be just a bit too gimmicky.

Thank you so much for your very kind comment! And I truly appreciate your questions. Sometimes I have just eaten a meal directly before and don’t always feel like eating again after. I really like this device and use it pretty regularly. This product is pretty easy to clean and use. It’s also fast. Which I really like. I don’t find this product gimmicky. I leave it up to the particular user to decide if they’d like to make a breakfast sandwich in this breakfast sandwich maker or a pan. You can certainly use either.

These are great. Just clean after. Don't let cheese over lap. Its simple but hard if you're stupid.

I do a totally different method. While it's preheating, I put the English muffin upside down in the top and bottom so the insides get toasty. Then i flipped them over, and add the cheese, meat (we don't really have Canadian bacon in Canada LOL) and scrambled egg

@TracyKMainwaring This is a wonderful idea! I’m going to have to try this out! What kind of meat do you use?

@@JaceyKlein I usually buy round sausage patties. Some come precooked, some you need to cook first so I do a bunch at a time and freeze them. Or if I have some calico lol, or even bacon…whatever!

    @stevefarms7494 5 дней назад +1

The biggest problem with it is that if you scramble the egg it leaks out the side if poured all at once if done a little at a time just to get it to cook a little to seal the edge then pour it all in ... Other than that it's a good unit

Just got my double. Try doing it with bottom muffin and cheese and meat and egg. Everything but the top of the muffin then just add the top muffin with three minutes to go. Perfect

in the redo of the pancake method... instead of reducing the amount of time the top pancake is in the cooker, you increased the amount of time that the bottom pancake is in there. Instead, perhaps initially cook the egg by itself for 3 minutes, open the top, add top pancake, lift middle section and add bottom pancake, cheese, and sausage, then close it up and cook for another 2 minutes. this should help reduce any burning of the pancake.

It's an interesting contraption but hardly seems worthwhile. The only problem it solved for me was finishing up my christmas gift shopping for a couple relatives one year …

the thing is a piece of junk. easier and faster to use a pan. gadgets like this are supposed to simplify and speed up the process of making things and this does neither. apparently it's a well known piece of junk too as even practically brand new i couldn't get a buyer for $5.

    • @TracyKMainwaring

we've used the same one for 10 years. It's been great! My daughter got it when she was 8 and it was awesome she could safely make her own breakfast. I also use it to make crustless pizza, eggs with no English muffin, chuffles...
I do use it differently than either this video or James.

Agreed. I can toast an english muffin and cook canadian bacon (or sausage) and an egg in a small sauce pan faster than this contraption requires and have only the sauce pan and spatula to clean (and cleaning those two items will be faster than cleaning this contraption). This is a poster child example for why Alton Brown, of "Good Eats" fame, says that single-taskers of this sort should be avoided. I wouldn't use this thing if you gave it to me for free.

Easy to clean? Easy to use? You have a very odd definition of those terms.

You are probably right. But I was just judging the product on it’s own merits.
