Adjutants also give a might bonus to the main unit if they're one of their "special allies", since they're treated the same as a linked attack. Not sure if you went over that bit and I missed it but that's something worth noting.
For that very reason, I find adjutant Dedue paired up with Dimitri to be an absolutely insane duo (as it should be), as he benefits from more might for OHKO's, and Dedue can easily supply that meaty adjutant guard to make the boar even more unstoppable.
Sometimes you just need TWO MEN, after all.

"If the character has an Adjutant deployed, the Adjutant will count as an additional supporting ally, for a maximum number of four."
There's also a table there which shows what unit pairs give a might bonus with their linked attack, Dimitri x Dedue and as the other guy said, Byleth/Seteth x Flayn are some of them.
The idea behind my comment is that you can gain the benefits of Adjutant Guard and also have a permanent +3 might from Dedue since he'll always be counted as a linked attack, being an adjutant and all that.

@@kellyjohana516 It's good although she has a harder time getting into it due to her Reason weakness.
I only made her Mortal Savant when I feel like the map needs extra warper or healer, if not I’ll reclass her back to Swordmaster because the Sword Crit +10 is too good to pass. She got her revenge on the Death Knight by critting him with the Rapier boosted by the class ability and Critical Ring. If she reached S in sword than she can permanently stay Mortal Savant.
@@AsianRailgun I don't see a problem. You can make her learning goal magic since you recruit her and by the time skip, her sword learning is already B.

So if you have a unit that you know will never be fielded normally, make them an armor knight for that sweet extra defence.
Armor knights seem to actually be more useful as adjutants than in the field considering their terrible move and speed stats.
@@wesnohathas1993 made edelgard into armor knight -> to her with linhardt to the place with melee enemies -> watch how she chops em 1 by 1 on enemy phase suffering no dmg
@@MrDargorian make Edelgard a Wyvern Rider>equip Alert Stance> do the same thing but with an actually decent class.

I have dedue as an armored knight and hes a fucking beast. Even before becoming armored knight he was rather tanky and could sweep enemies super easily

Put magic users as adjutants to level the skills quickly, and give the lead unit a broken weapon to fight for ages.
Also flying/riding/armoured adjutants are good.
The only disadvantage of adjutants is that if you are a flier you can only use a flying adjutant.
@AsianRailgun That is not so much a nerf to adjutants as it is a nerf to fliers. Adjutants are present whether a Flier is deployed or not. Fliers can only have a damage adjutant.

Jerlat brought an offensive adjutant instead of a guard one classic rookie mistake.
And here I was just using adjutants to build supports and help level up my new additions to the rest of the team’s level 🙈

When it comes to the attack stance characters, I just assume the just stand there menacingly till the decide to take whenever they feel like it. Plus I leveled up my characters enough to basically breeze through the game easily. #FearTheDeer

Good advice Chaz. Appreciate the breakdown. I utilized Dedue as a fortress knight adjutant with Dimitri and he became pretty much unstoppable. Also Felix with Aegis shield and Dedue is another scary combo.

Adjutants are actually pretty nice. Definitely helps to passively level units that you might not be able to fit onto your main team. Also, love the person who draws your chibi art, they’re adorable (and yes, I saw you sourced them!).

Great Adjutant Guide! The game itself doesn't really do a great job of explaining all the intricacies of adjutants, so this helped a lot! When I eventually grow some chest hair and try Maddening No NG+, I'll use everything I learned here

I’ve beaten the game twice now and had no idea online adjutants could “teach” abilities to your characters. I guess that makes up for not giving another character of yours XP, but that’s going to be super useful in my Maddening No-Recruitment play through.
I love Flayn as my favorite adjutant healer. As someone who replays Blue Lions route often, she quickly builds supports with Byleth, Dimitri, Dedue, Felix and Sylvain. Once Seteth joins, then you can re class her to Pegasus knight for the Seteth support adjutant, or just keep her as the healer adjutant instead with the others. Either way, she'll rapidly build supports and heal your front line units.
She also gives extra damage to both Byleth and Seteth via linked attack, which is automatic while being an adjutant.
Flayn is definitely one of the very best adjutants as a pegasus knight paired with Seteth or flying Byleth. The bonus to might and avoid as support level increases can't be beat by anyone else (only tied by house Lord linked attack). An even better adjutant setup is armor/brawler Dedue with Dimitri for these same bonuses plus the defensive adjutant ones.
You guys aren't thinking of the big picture though.
Armor Knight Flayn does all that, and makes slow units even tougher.
Curse gender locked classes for preventing us from using Brawler Flayn, but, we make do.
@@aprinnyonbreak1290 Armor Knight Flayn can't be an adjutant for a flying unit, the best units in the game.
Flayn with Dedue was a great combo. Plus, their supports were adorbs.
Really love the informative videos you put out. Your editing is top notch have a nice soothing voice and well researched! Even someone that's spent hundreds of hours on this game learnt a lot from this video. Not sure what you have planned next but would you consider doing a video on the monsters in three houses? I see alot of misinformation spreading around about their shields, what weapons and metals they drop, their ai etc. Keep up the solid vids and streams

I really only use adjutants for two reasons
1. To build a support pairs to marry characters together
2. If a character is really falling behind, I’ll attach them to a character who really gets a lot of action, thus “carrying” their levels

Can confirm Chupi, defense adjutants are-broken- I mean cool as hell. Found out on my first Maddening run, on my first church route. Last night actually. Caspar got Strength screwed on the best possible difficulty. So I benched him and had him back up Linhardt. What I saw was pure beauty. He guarded the crap outta him from a demonic beast. Now with your video telling me even more about them, I am 100% convinced to make more brawlers and armored knights. 👍
